Great fawkin tips man, whoever put this video together and edited it needs a raise. No BS, straight to the point, fawkin how to bring in more Coyote tips.
I’ve been yote hunting for several years now, and what said totally makes sense. To me, it’s like playing chess with the coyotes, cause we’re in their backyard and they know it better than we do. Even though it may be our deer hunting area or predator hunting area, the critters in that area know it better. Now, in Texas, it’s WAY different. From all the hunters we’ve talked to and been around during our hog hunting trips, they all say that you’ve got to play something that’s not local everything they’re used to. They all say that a prairie dog call works awesome cause it’s different and they ain’t use to it lol
Great tip on not just playing sounds constantly and letting the stand develop. If you don’t have an e caller and are using a mouth call, start with the non threatening howl and maybe answer with the same or even a more aggressive answer. When calling to a coyote that you can see and it’s visibly hung up, changing distres sounds helps. It’s not always about the animal, sometimes it’s the pitch (cottontail, Jack rabbit, bird, rodent). Great tips man!
I like it - I like it ALOT! 👍. We have several good locations and I think we call pretty well but boy we have trouble getting coyotes to come in so although this sounds pretty basic, I like what you’re saying and we’re gonna do more like that. We are patient - but need to learn more coyote vocals. 👍👍
We’ve had some sets recently where a pack would continuously serenade after we played a variety of vocals but never could bring them in. If you get a return serenade after that initial interrogation howl and they continue to serenade as you serenade back and even after playing the pup distress you still get nothing what would you recommend? Thanks
When you say " do a serenade back"? What exactly do you mean by that? We had a pack of 4 come in the other night and coyote grabbed our call" got on video too!" But always wonder what to reply back after they howl?
Blow a whistle in a distress pattern. Start soft then step it up like you said in the video. Another thing, and people ARE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS WORKS: Take a chainsaw out in the woods with you and let it rip wide open. It will bring in a ton of deer 🦌 (Potential coyote food, if the deer are being hunted and they come in to investigate the yotes will follow. Deer and coyotes are VERY CURIOUS creatures, especially when they hear strange noises at night). I’m a professional tree climber. I do a lot of trimming on my farm at night (which is totally safe when you do everything SAFELY-wearing a headlamp will actually allow for BETTER VISION of your immediate surroundings vs having tons of sunlight blinding you every few seconds. It allows your eyes to relax and actually improves night vision). I’m not advocating any non-climbing professional to climb at night with a chainsaw, but starting one on the ground works the same. In my 10 years of climbing the oddest thing I’ve noticed is how fast and often running a saw at night brings in ALL KINDS of wildlife! You asked for a new trick... I just gave you gold!!!
1st time tonight hunting coyote, we used a rabbit in distress, when the pack" light up "as you say my heart beat damn near out my chest .they had to be 120 feet from us . 1st time I felt being surrounded . Not gonna lie it was awesome. Unfortunately didn't get to see any of them to take them but hearing them like that was awesome.
Hey Heath Question.... Im a day hunter shot dozens of coyotes i have an ecaller im new to the thermal hunting just started a month ago.. i try to have a backdrop or hunt when its pitch black. Snow is so crunchy hard to do much walking. In Minnesota coyotes are pressured heavily by then/now with coyote contests, popularity of calling and people! can get coyotes howling at night but they dont seem to care or come in ive tried different calls, setups, cover around here seems to be within 2-500 yards of a road. Im sure the population down by now... I should have started earlier with more dogs around... thoughts on future hunts and hunting in the open/ pressured coyotes? thanks
Iv only killed one coyote and now I have a big blonde one taunting me going past my game cams he knows iv set 6 traps for him and he’s just to smart to fall for em
@@BurrisOpticsCompany thanks I’m gonna try it out since breeding seasons here, I caught 2 bobcats tryna catch this blonde devil dog and he stole my raccoon and trap last night

How long do you wait between coyote vocals if you don't get any answer
Hunted my whole life but predator hunting is still relatively new to me so I did find this very helpful
Thanks for watching 👍
What chest gear do you have on in the video

Awesome!
Just experienced this last night on my first coyote hunt, what a crazy feeling.
I used to love that smoke, nothing better then a seasoned boxer taking advantage of that "big guy". Lol

Great information and good way to put things in lame terms
👍
I brought them in with my own cat distress call that I was able to make with my own vocal cords, I actually called one in.
That's awesome, great work! 👍
GREAT INFO!!!
Thanks for your interest!
Can your still use pup distress even if its the time of year they don't have pups?
Absolutely, Coyotes can still exhibit distress outside of put-rearing seasons. Pup distress calls are a go-to year round for me.
Ok so if you do a howl and you don't get a response what's your next step?
Rabbit
Shit I sent this before I watched the whole video lol 😆
🤘
Podcast on Spotify?
Alpha Dog might have one, we currently don't.
i'll bet you were a bully in school
I think the best thing is to just get out and hunt.
Iv only killed one coyote and now I have a big blonde one taunting me going past my game cams he knows iv set 6 traps for him and he’s just to smart to fall for em
