I appreciate the great information on calling. I have killed lots of coyotes here in north Mississippi but mostly over bait at night. Just starting to get into the calling and your pointers will probably save me from a lot of trial and error. Thanks again and good hunting!
DC, Dubois County Bombers? Great video. Thanks for taking this step by step. I just ordered a lucky duck call and I'm looking forward to trying this. I appreciate the tips!
Gonna try switching it up more, my buddy an I might’ve been too consistent with certain calls so we’ll try different ones more often an hope that’s gets them in. I’ve had plenty of responses the last few weeks but have yet to get any of them to come in as far as I know.
I have lucky duck revolt, when playing a sequence 3-4 minutes, will you change to multiple different sets in that sequence? (example - Pup Distress SET has "pup detention" "pup chaos" "pup village" etc. would you consider cycling through some of those for 30-45 seconds and change them up within that 3-4 minute period?
Hey man! Love your videos. I also hunt a lot in western Ky and mostly use a lucky duck. I noticed you mentioned in distress that u use rabbit or bird distress. Do you have any success with the bird distress at night? And if u do does the bird or rabbit work the best? Keep the videos coming I love them
Yeah, I do, but have much better luck with rabbit over bird. Sometimes it’s just playing something they’ve never heard and get intrigued. Appreciate you watching 👍👍
Hey man watched a lot of your videos great work. Im in southern Ohio trying to daytime hunt for these coyotes her have a fox pro and get my wind right almost every time I'm in the woods and have just had no luck during the day. It just seems like Im missing something any tips. Thank you
Appreciate ya! Try and setup on a good cross wind. Give the coyotes a little chance, or so they think. If you don’t have thermal, focus on early mornings and right before dark.
Hello is your Sightmark Wraith HD the 2 or 4 base magnification model? Because I was looking at the Wraith 4K Max bit it's a 3 times base magnification and I was wondering wich you recommended.
@@HoosierHunter thanks so much man for replying! I appreciate the help. I think I may end up going with the Wraith 4k max . I really like your grendle build and I've watched almost every video with it in them. How long is your barrel? And who makes it of you don't mind me asking.
Awesome video brother! I do have a question though. I’m running a foxpro and i don’t have breeding fights. However, I do have Growling Coyotes. Would that work alright you think?
What do you think about this weather neighbor? In ohio about 40 min from state line. I havent been out since it got so cold. Figuring they probably arnt moving much
They will still be active. Have to eat to stay warm and they will move in any conditions during breeding season. If you can get a good night with not much wind you can have a lot of success! Good luck
Icotecs are good calls to I use a nightstalker. The good thing about them is 300 yard remote range lets you really play the wind if need be. Also icotec you can play two sounds at 1 time so you can mix a distress then play a fight as well.
@@HoosierHunter I’m using a Foxpro Fusion, I have a Foxcast sequence of female howls that I made myself. Sometimes I’ll let the howls play through then pause for 5 mins and sometimes I’ll play a few howls and pause for a few seconds and then let out another two to three howls and pause again. Distress sounds I play at around 15-18, howls I play at full 40 volume.

it is very interesting to learn more about membranes. Use of all 3 membrane decoys
Great information. I haven’t had the chance to call any this season

Indiana coyotes are pressured hard. And are hard calling. So the different sequences are helpful.
GOOD TIPS👍🏻👍🏻 YOU READY FOR THIS SNOW WE'RE GETTING
Thanks! No stopping it, so I am ready for it, I guess. Stay safe!

What volume do you play that first howl at on your X24? I just picked one up and Im planning on hitting the coyotes tonight!
Hoosierhunter , what time do you find that is most productive for killing coyotes night or day and what time?
Anytime at night is better than day. Nocturnal predators 👊👊
Do you use same call sequences for daytime sets or do you only call coyotes at night??
Same sequence for daytime as well 👍
Have you started leaning towards one caller more then the other?
No, I usually take both with me and switch it up. Really like both still.
What is your response when they answer you on your initial howl in your set? What’s next and when?
I stay silent for 5 minutes or so. If they don't show within that 5 minutes, one more howl and then get into breeding fights in about 2 minutes.
@@HoosierHunter I assume that’s during breeding season, so would you use pup distress in place of breeding fights during late spring, summer months?
That’s correct. No, I would skip breeding fights in that time of year and go with rabbit or bird distress. Then finally end on pup distress.
Cool, can’t wait!
👍👍 thanks for watching!
Great Advice 👊

The one I had was 4 power. I think a 3x would be about perfect. My thermal is 2x and like it a lot but 3x would be great as well.

They move better in the cold, they require more calories and have to eat. Plus it's breeding season.

What gain do you rub your lucky duck on
Pretty much always left on 4.
@@HoosierHunter thanks
How long do you pause for before howling again?
Pause for 5 minutes.
