    Coyotes shut up as soon as they hear my door open on my house. They are smart.

    Definitely someone who is just getting into it this isn’t the video. Good info but I’d say for a beginner I would look into a cheaper Night vision or even run a red or white lite to start. Could definitely even pick up a cheaper thermal hand scanner as well. Thermal is definitely the way to go for an optic but it doesn’t help you calling in coyotes. As beginners I’d run a cheaper night vision or light and pick up a x24 or shockwave to start with. Learn the ropes on calling in coyotes/fox. There body language is definitely a big deal too. It’s easy to say a $6000 thermal will work for you but not something a beginner would want to spend right off the bat. Maybe some would. Either way this is good info for a more advance coyote hunter.

    One of the most instructional videos I've seen, very well done.
    For beginners, maybe you can do a video with red/green light and go through a sequence. I use the same calling sequences and it has worked, some newbies maynot know what an interrogation how is. Again awesome video!

      I started out with a 2AA pen light attatched to my hat with a safety pin through a patch of duct tape and a Johnny Stewart tape in a boom box covered with a burlap sack.
      Guess how many years ago that was.

    Pulsar XG50 is awesome scope where i live coyotes are hunted hard and hang up over 200 yards a bunch. Two vets are awesome tripods that's what I shoot.

    Bog death grip is great for a tripod also. Less than 200.00 at camellias and most gun supply stores. The really cheap hard gun case is from harbor freight.

    Does your thermal have a range finder for night time use ? And what is your range of shot for good kills with the ar platform? Thanks for the video

    • @fortscottmunitions3278
      @fortscottmunitions3278  Год назад +2

      Not currently running a range finder on the MK1 although it is an option and is compatible. Most of the shots we take are in that 75yd-200yd range which is perfectly capable with a quality rifle, optic, and ammo.

    Another thing to do is locate them. The night before or a few hours before, let out a few howls in the general area you plan to hunt and listen for a response. Usually if there are coyotes in the area they will respond. I've done this the night before I would hunt in the morning and always had coyotes show up if that area generated a response. Sometimes this can tell you what side of the property they are on and it may be a bust if the wind is not in your favor or perhaps you need to readjust your position.

      A lot of big name guys say not to do this. They are already call shy enough in the midwest. Not many nights they don't hear a call for a few months.

    If on a budget go slow and be patient. If you go out some be aware you might educate some coyotes to call shy if they bust you. Also think about odor because of cent. After shave can be picked up several miles if wind is wrong for there approach. That alone will educate them.

    Is thermal a must? Can you hunt them with a spotlight at all? Or do they see light from a mile away and never come near it? I'm curious cause I had a couple terrorizing my farm animals but don't really think I can afford all that for one or two coyotes.
