Thank you for the review. I personally leaned toward the M2 and purchased two of them. I think people too often overlook what CIG have said about armor and how it is going to change this game. Yes I would like the egregious cargo space of the A2 but that does me zero benefit if the cargo does not make it to it's destination. When we're talking millions of UEC worth of inventory, I'm paying for the extra insurance. I do think it is ridiculous to have a ship that size with zero missiles.
So glad you're back & hope you're going to be more active. I have CCUs to both C2 & M2, but still not decided on which one I'm going to end up with. I think I can live with the decreased cargo capacity of the M2, so for me, I'll be comparing their speeds, turret layouts, considering extra armor and whether or not I believe the M2 is worth the extra cost. Thanks for the video Seerthe6th, I appreciate it! You earned yourself a subscriber and I look forward to many more Star Citizen videos from you!🙂 Personally I was planning on getting the C2 as the M2 felt rather overpriced. The M2 was +$120 over the C2 and all it really got for that bag of extra cash was heavier armor and an extra turret; but at the cost of 25% cargo capacity. That felt a little ridiculous; especially when you look at the Starfarer and Starfarer Gemini. The Starfarer Gemini was only $40 more than the regular Starfarer yet gained larger weapons on all manned turrets, heavier armor, stronger thrusters, and a missile launcher with 9 S3 missiles. It was also supposed to have stronger shields but it seems that CIG has ninja-nerfed that as both variants have the same 1xL shield. So yeah, you received a ton of extras for that +$40 on the Gemini while your +$120 for an M2 gets you hardly anything. CIG also stated that the heavier armor of the M2 was comparable to the Gemini. As such I was hoping that at such an increase in price that they would also give the M2 larger weapons, stronger thrusters, an extra missile launcher or added point defense turrets perhaps. Even then you'd still not reach the same value so maybe also toss in a 'free' Cyclone-AA and we would be good. Unfortunately all M2 owners get for their +$120 is some heavier armor, an extra turret, and 25% reduction in cargo capacity. Talk about paying more for less... 😝 However, I am still going to get the M2. Why? Because CIG increased the price of the Banu Merchantman again during last year's Anniversary expo event. I still had access to a BMM at the original concept price of $250 at some point it had already seen an increase in value even though it was still in development. When it was sitting at $350 I had bought a $10 CCU to the C2 but now that its price increased to $450 I bought a $30 CCU to the M2 instead. In addition to that CIG also sold several discounted "Warbond CCUs" a few times now; starting with these new offerings at the expo and once again during the recent "Assault on Stanton" and "Lunar New Year" events. Thanks to those recent "Warbond CCUs" I was able to create a CCU-chain to an M2 where it would only cost me a total of $195. At that price I am perfectly happy with my 'overpriced' M2 and finally have a reason to clean up several of my old stored CCUs. 😃
Glad to see you back. i think the Hercules line is nice but limiting unless you are in either ground operations or cargo hauling. If a person wants to focus on cargo hauling I would say stick with the Hull series(mostly space only) or the Caterpillar(space and ground with modularity). As for ground operations the Hercules line is the best at bringing large ground vehicles but currently most ground operations(bunker missions) can be dealt with a combat rover with little issues. This ship won't be able to truly shine until much farther in the games development as there isn't enough ground based missions that require it but maybe we will get an event that will help with it in the future like how the last event showed us how useful bombers are against capital ships.
Nicely done. I own them all as well but will probably chain one at some point. Depends of if they actually make armor useful in the future. Looking forward to running the A2 as a spectre/spooky gunship in the future with some Org V Org fun. That and I want to see a Moab roll out to clear a landing zone. :)
So, my occupation in the verse will be mainly trading, shipping and smuggling. I currently have the caterpillar (And the Hull-C for bigger cargo jobs) and I wanted to keep it because of the future modules that will be available. The bit more cargo the C2 has over the Cat doesn't strike me as much, I'm more of a role player anyway. And I would expect the C2 to be more expensive to run regarding maintenance and fuel, so that might balance it out a bit. But the last few days I'm actually not that sure anymore. The fact that the C2 can haul cargo like big vehicles just offers more job oppertunities. Not only for NPC missions and trading but also to be hired by other orgs. I really like cat though, but the C2 sounds better as more I think of it.
Aight subbed. I bought the M2 awhile back just because more armor is always 'mo bettah. 468scu still brings in a nice chunk of change for commercial hauling anyway.
Glad seeing you back. Regarding the Hercules, i have a beautiful C2 Jpeg for some time and cant wait to see it in game. Crusader is my favourite manufacturer i also have an MSR and thinking in getting an Ares and a Starliner eventually.
Man i've been going back through your videos and they are really solid. I wish there were more. Best of luck to you and whatever project you are pursuing now man, take it easy.
Thanks for you insights on the ships! I choose the M2 because of the Loaner matrix. I got the Cat and the Starrunner during the time before the release of the M2. I will run the M2 for a bit, but I am in love with my Starrunner. The Cat is the biggest hauler (now), but it doesn't hold much appeal when you can't fill it anyways! (patch 3.12)
Glad to see you're back. Looking forward to my M2 being delivered, but I realised I knew nothing about this ship. Can't wait for there to be a use for my Tonk and Balista.
The Hercules Starlifter C2 was my first jpeg purchase after starting to play Star Citizen during Invictus Week last year (Corsair my second). My vision was planetside trade (Hull C can't do) and vehicle transport. The two size 3 shields (along with ship speed) do offer some comfort that they may buy me time as I transverse or escape unfavorable zones. The State of Trade does concern me currently in the 'verse.
I think most C2 owners will use their ship in similar use cases to the Caterpillar. And while the C2 is competing against the Caterpillar, and loses out in terms of pure utility, the M2 is in a class of its own as a dedicated transport ship. Money no object, the M2 is the better choice because of its armour.
You mean for tonks ..... right as armour cargo still better options.. see star G when cargo pods 2500 scu cargo armored. Or bmm 3500 scu armour level to be decided but its bigger so should be armour class above. Or smaller carrack without tonks better gun placement carry fighter as cover drones to repair itself range... kind of lot of variables in there

I got the C2... I REALLLLY want to know if it will fit my prospector! The C2 will be my home and pocket carrier in the future, if so. Keep up the great work stud!
Welcome back my old friend. Thanks for the video. I still have not decided. Under ordinary circumstances I'd want the C2 for the cargo. BUT... I lucked out and got a discounted CCU chain up to a Prowler for about $200 off. But I don't want a prowler. But it's only another $40 up to an M2. And I just got the CCU for that during this "last chance" sale. So there is a fair chance I'll end up with 1 of each, at least for a while. Until maybe I get a chance to CCU the M2 into a Polaris or some as yet unknown ship.
Great video production, keep it up! I have a M2 but I always think about the C2 as well. The extra security makes sense for me as I’m into support logistics by carrying Tonks and ballistas. BMM will be my cargo ship.
Very excited for my c2, i think ill get the m2 in game, cant stomach the extra real money cost. Also really like your videos, nice insights and i like hearing your reasons considering your background, keep up the good work!
Welcome back Seer! Looking at the leaked info for its components, (some increases to the components I won't specify here) I'm very excited for the C2. Some of the info is likely to change.
Got the M2 as was a $5 CCU from the useless 600i in my explorer megapack. Also picked up a BMM to M2 CCU to convert my second BMM and take advantage of the price hike on both to get a cheap Polaris. See the M2 as a way a small crew can haul goods from dangerous areas back to hi-sec to sell. When automation and blades come online I think a 3 man crew would do easily for the M2.
I passed on getting any of these. I'm pretty unsocial and even the C2 feels like too much ship for a solo pilot. Even the MSR leans a bit toward multicrew. I do hope someday we see a non-Drake competitor to the Cutlass for hauling a small vehicle and some cargo. A Nomad MAX would be perfect for me.
@@SingleTrack66 The problem with the Freelancers (besides the cockpit) is how linear the space is. Vehicles like the Cyclone and ROC block access to carrying in crates and such, unless you park them in deep enough to where you have the opposite problem.
At first i thought you are some CIG employee really professional feeling right there man. Perhaps the music didn't fit/mix 100% with voice but thats nitpicking. Awesome shirt
Good video and thanks. I bought the Gemini on the strength of its added armour but I went for the C2 on the sale which I guess makes me inconsistent in my purchase strategies.
The M2 will have a jump seat room, which gives it the best personnel capacity of all 3 ships. This does not come from leaks, but from the Star Citizen monthly report.
Great video man, very informative! I don't know why your videos haven't be recommended to me before? This content is right up my alley. Got a new subscriber for sure!
Great video. Thanks. Subscribed. I have a C2 and will be using it as a cargo hauler to afford to buy the A2 in-game. I love the esthetic of the Crusader ships. I'll miss my Cat but I know once modularity is brought in, she will return to regular use.
@@urmomconnor7870 i upgraded to it during the free fly sale in sept/oct 2020. I don't think it is available at the moment. It will be on sale again during the Spring sale event. Which is probably when the c2/m2 will be released as flyable. It is scheduled to be released in a 3.13.x patch but not 3.13.0. I can't wait. I'm a hauler at heart and look forward to using it.
Good vid! But you didn't mention the M2 has seating for "ground crews". I assume on the main deck. Also, in the neck area behind the bridge the A2 has something like 8 seats for remote turrets back there. May have some on the M2 as well. We will see soon!
All good stuff, thanks for going over it. Game play wise it will be tough to say but the newer ships tend to handle much better than the older ones, anyone who fly's a cat will tell you its not a treat in atmosphere. The design is interesting though, having good weapons from behind both the C2 and M2 are built with the chase in mind. For this reason I somewhat question the M2's front nose turret, offering better attacking but this would only be a real advantage to ground targets and maybe a bit to help clear a path when running. I am having trouble seeing the advantage of more guns and armor when getting away is this ships bread and butter but I am always a sucker for more guns. I decided to melt my mole for it in hopes that trading will once again become profitable as the cat trading was starting to get tricky. Here is hoping!
Man your production quality is top notch. Awesome back drop and shirt. Nice lighting and love that B camera. I ccu'ed my Caterpillar to a C2 last anniversary sale and am so ready to haul some serious ass.
So I load up and see this man wearing a crusader polo making me feel like I just stepped into a spaceship lot and he’s helping me figure out what I want to buy. Aight bruh you’ve got a sub. 😂 I’ve already gone an M2 ordered but hey presentation matters.
Great to see you creating informative content again. I have a ccu to an M2 from the bmm, not yet applied. Not sure how I will proceed. I like the M2 over the C2 because it seems more capable in hostile areas.
Agreed on both points. I went with the C2 and A2 because I figured the C2 and M2 would both require escorts regardless, and if the LZ was too hairy, I'd be going with the A2 anyways. I might upgrade the C2 to an M2 one day, but I'm pretty happy with the split at the moment. Also, given the IRL planes you're working on, you're in my hood.
Holding onto Starfarer (buyback) -> C2 and Vanguard Warden -> Merchantman -> M2 chains. Still have a Gemini for existing big freighter needs. Will see how gameplay pans out.
I’m still just imagining a hot drop getting fired at coming in with at least a couple fighters for cover getting as close as you can landing ramps go down unload a tank couple drakes/nox’s taking off and providing logistical support/gunship area control. We’re still a ways from there but hey. Gettin there.
The internet spaceships enthusiast side of me wanted one of each of these beauties regardless of cost. Luckily, the more pragmatic former military aviator side of me ended up winning out so I have an M2 sitting next to my Carrack in my main hangar next to a Valk, Redeemer and Warden (watch this space) . My org will be military/ PMC themed so I look for milspec where possible, built in redundancy, endurance (including crew facilities) plus logical feature sets and role equipment for the vessels intended purpose. Still feel like they burned a great ship name (Hercules) when 'starlifter' is so strong on it's own. In fact, I'd have made a medium/ large 'Hercules' ship able to carry several Ursa and some troops then it's very large big brother 'Starlifter' able to carry 3-4 tonks and many troops. Fly it like ya bought it o/
Great video, tons of info thanks for sharing your thoughts. I believe if I were to get either of these ships I would get the C2 just because it would fit the role of my org. better. Which would be transfering ground vehicles from one local area to another, planet side activities.
you can also use them as heavy protected transport ships in the verse like some actual bank armored van, and the C2 has actualy a pretty good cargo capacity, the M2 is not bad too but with extra armour and weapons at the cost of a little less cargo capacity so more like "precious" shipment
Got a C2 - don't really intend on going into danger zones that would require the armor of the M2 - mostly just want it to replace my CAT loaner for when the BMM eventually comes out and to transport my racing ships (should racing ever actually be a thing) - I think the C2 is going to be pretty functional not just as a cargo hauler - but as a ship to really live out of.
I got the A2 and the C2. A2, well... BOOM, and the C2 is just more bang for the buck over the M2 if you just want to make money running cargo. Also, I plan to use the C2 to transport racing ships and vehicles to various races around the verse.
Another good breakdown I feel like I learn something from your perspective. I agree with you on the top turret which kinda gave me reservations about these despite loving Crusader. Look forward to more great videos.
#SeerThe6th Appreciate your assessment. Own a C2 ccu as a possible future option. Own an A2 but you didn’t cover that one. 1st time on your channel so will be poking around. 😁👍
I picked up the A2 during the November sale, but waffled a lot. Eventually I melted it for a C2, and an Ares Inferno. That way I have a top tier hauler and a solid ground/capital strike ship. Also my fleet has a smaller crew requirement. As much as I like the idea of carpet bombing enemy fortifications I doubt I'll have the number of people required to effectively staff it.
You know what? I wasn't planning on buying one of these, but now having seen the range of capabilities and the tandem role it could play with my Cat (handling a cargo run while I wait for the timer on one or the other to run down during sale/load/offload, I'm now reconsidering and I may just pick up the C2.
I'd lean towards the c2 to do just what its meant to. Move bulky items like ships and ground vehicles from a-b and if not for the footprint being a bit large not to be a tempting target. I'd for sure jump right into one and haul anything I can fit in it.
Unfortunately its the downside to my life at the minute, but I really wanted to start pushing out more content, been making moves in life and dont want to stop with the channel
I'd love to pick the M2 for the mil-spec side of things, like armour and the extra turret. However, the bean-counter side says I can get 3-4+ ships for the price, and have more gameplay flexibility.
I wouldn't be quite so sure that the C2 being the civilian variant is going to be using civilian components exclusively. The heavy lifting role edges towards industrial too, so my bet is a mix of civilian and industrial components in the stock load out. But yeah, I still expect civilian components to be predominant.
I bought a C2 Hercules for the following reasons... The right now: Cargo hauling, simple, that's it. The future: Some cargo hauling but more of an emphasis on direct logistics for hire, such as disaster/war relief efforts, sporting transport, and systems development (colonization). I also own a Mercury Star Runner which will be my "daily driver" as its a jack of all trades minus combat, which is why I own an Ares Inferno. Mount a ROC in the MSR and its a very lucrative way to make some serious money, and in the future the potential to make all sorts of money with the MSR is just, well endless. Just my 2 cents.
I do know there are leaks on the ship but I never like going off leaks because of consistancy of the channel.
You already know I will be here for Crusader Ships, which did you get or not get?

And while the C2 is competing against the Caterpillar, and loses out in terms of pure utility, the M2 is in a class of its own as a dedicated transport ship. Money no object, the M2 is the better choice because of its armour.
As long as everyone remembers to fly below you in space!
@@bezdownunder5481 u can always roll
@@boratb258 yaah they are agile... like that... makes u wonder why connie pilots had a hard time.
You mean for tonks ..... right as armour cargo still better options.. see star G when cargo pods 2500 scu cargo armored. Or bmm 3500 scu armour level to be decided but its bigger so should be armour class above. Or smaller carrack without tonks better gun placement carry fighter as cover drones to repair itself range... kind of lot of variables in there
Have paths to both, but will probably stick with the M2, my C2 path replaces a Cat and I've not quite given up on its supposed ?future? modularity.
Great video sir, as I wanted more detailed info on these ships. Excellent assessment as always, keep up the great work!
C2, M2, A2 Hercules loadouts
Coolers: 2x S3 ThermalCore on the C2, 2x S3 Mercury on the M2/A2

Ship dimensions match concept.
@Credits to SCLeaks!
Iits so cool to see an actual aronautics engineer using his expertise in a space game
I got the C2... I REALLLLY want to know if it will fit my prospector! The C2 will be my home and pocket carrier in the future, if so. Keep up the great work stud!
Would be awesome if it could, but I doubt it.... its a loooot bigger than a tonk or auora. the biggest ships we know for sure should fit fine.
Found your videos through the Inforunners channel. Awesome content!! ❤👏o7
Very excited for my c2, i think ill get the m2 in game, cant stomach the extra real money cost. Also really like your videos, nice insights and i like hearing your reasons considering your background, keep up the good work!
Great video been wondering which one to get and this really put a lot in perspective!
Welcome back Seer! Looking at the leaked info for its components, (some increases to the components I won't specify here) I'm very excited for the C2. Some of the info is likely to change.
Thanks for the info!
Freelancer max ?
Freelancer(s) or hull b probably. But I agree, need more similar ships
@@SingleTrack66 The problem with the Freelancers (besides the cockpit) is how linear the space is. Vehicles like the Cyclone and ROC block access to carrying in crates and such, unless you park them in deep enough to where you have the opposite problem.
"and they stink, just like Drake ships......" lololol you just earned a new subscriber good sir.
I knew I saw that somewhere but could not remember where I read it from, thank you for this
oh oh. you worked on the Max?? :)
you got it. a hand and a bell. thanks for the content man! I got only a C2 for a scu UP in trades basically.
Great video man, very informative! I don't know why your videos haven't be recommended to me before? This content is right up my alley. Got a new subscriber for sure!
Great vid, thanks Seer. Except that you're wrong, Drake ships are awesome.
Got the C2, I have so many military assets I figured a better cargo hauler was more important.
Great video. Thanks. Subscribed. I have a C2 and will be using it as a cargo hauler to afford to buy the A2 in-game. I love the esthetic of the Crusader ships. I'll miss my Cat but I know once modularity is brought in, she will return to regular use.
How do you get the c2 right now
@@urmomconnor7870 i upgraded to it during the free fly sale in sept/oct 2020.
Caterpillar 576 SCU --- C2 Hercules 624 SCU --- M2 Hercules 468 SCU
Good vid! But you didn't mention the M2 has seating for "ground crews". I assume on the main deck. Also, in the neck area behind the bridge the A2 has something like 8 seats for remote turrets back there. May have some on the M2 as well. We will see soon!
I dis mean crew seats sorry for the confusion! And the A2 needs a whole vid in its self!
@@Seerthe6th yes! I would love to see that one from you!
I'm tempted to upgrade my Warden to a C2 but trading isn't in a good state right now, but the C2 is so cool!
I’ve already gone an M2 ordered but hey presentation matters.
Very professional sir. Thank you, Im eagerly waiting for my C2 to be delivered.
I'm subbing just based on the shirt.
WB 8)....I picked up the M2 as well as the A2....will get the Ares and the Ion later.....
Great job and I’m loving the multicam. Well executed!
I got all 3 Hercules too. All 3 definitely have their different rolls which I like.
Looking forward to seeing my M2, and flying that beast. Good job Seer!!!
I personally own a C2 as the ship perfectly fits the "Role" I intend to play within my Org.
Good breakdown on usage. Just subbed!
saw the crusader shirt, liked instantly
great review tho, i'll wait to see how it is but i'll probably buy a C2 if i have the cash
That freaking quality, man.
I always love watching people who have similar real life expertise talking about these ships. Also great beard.
I want to get the C2 as I'm a cargo hauler but god damn the price tag kills me.
Great breakdown as always, forever insightful
The M2 would be great for in atmo troop drops if star citizen ever introduces parachutes or player thrusters / jetpacks

Amazing vid as always ty
I own c2 and m2 wait to see if I keep both of them
Great video, tons of info thanks for sharing your thoughts. I believe if I were to get either of these ships I would get the C2 just because it would fit the role of my org. better. Which would be transfering ground vehicles from one local area to another, planet side activities.
Can’t wait for your in game review and load out of the C2 and M2.
Thanks for the video I bought the C2 for cargo running I just hope they fix the cargo system prior to it's release.
you can also use them as heavy protected transport ships in the verse like some actual bank armored van, and the C2 has actualy a pretty good cargo capacity, the M2 is not bad too but with extra armour and weapons at the cost of a little less cargo capacity so more like "precious" shipment
Picked up a C2 last fleet week, really hyped for it since i will be waiting for my BMM a few more years probably
after much pondering i have the C2 for pretty much exactly the reasons you listed. i also have a star runner for the get it there fast moments.
Another quality Seerthe6th video. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
I'd lean towards the c2 to do just what its meant to. Move bulky items like ships and ground vehicles from a-b and if not for the footprint being a bit large not to be a tempting target. I'd for sure jump right into one and haul anything I can fit in it.
Glad to see you back bro. Keep up the good work.
Love that Crusader polo!
Subbed. Great content broski
why do you only have 10k subs , you are maybe one of the best SC youtubers :)
Always a good day when you see a Seer vid
I bought the C2 back in the day specifically as a daily cargo runner that could be happy in atmosphere.
C2 cheapest largest cargo capacity.
M2 120 bucks more for less cargo, more armor, and an extra turret.
A2 due out later this year is a bomber
Bit late to the video, but glad to see your back to uploading!
Unfortunately its the downside to my life at the minute, but I really wanted to start pushing out more content, been making moves in life and dont want to stop with the channel
Can't wait for my M2. I've thought about getting a C2 as well, still on the fence. Great video man, thanks!
I'd love to pick the M2 for the mil-spec side of things, like armour and the extra turret. However, the bean-counter side says I can get 3-4+ ships for the price, and have more gameplay flexibility.
V-22 osprey is such a cool piece of engineering
Thanks Seer, think I will go with the C2.
