Good. When you will see second part of tensioner, then you can think about replacement. My chain has been replaced in 325000 km. And you need to check it often. Because one time you see only first part, and other time you can see second, and after you will see only first part again . This is depend on position of car.
There is a special chain stretch measuring tool available from Mercedes Benz that threads into the tensioner hole. It’s very simple to do, but will require one person to manually spin the engine over with a breaker bar, while you look to see what the measurements are on the tool while they spin the engine over. I can’t remember the measurements off the top of my head, but I can tell you from experience, your chain is definitely stretched. Take care of it now before you start hearing the noises. If you wait until you hear the rattling noises, you may end up with cracked chain guides.. which would turn a simple chain roll into a big wrench dance. My advice.... get a new tensioner, chain, and the re-seal kit for the valve cover and injector seals and replace that chain. The sooner, the better. It’s not that hard, but it may take a home-gamer a couple of days to complete... if you are able to rent/borrow the tools for holding the cams down, etc etc... you should be able to replace everything necessary for under $500.
Noo i dont have any chain noise my engine runs perfect only i was wondering how my chain condition is how much it's stretched i change my oil every 10.000km i have no problem with my car never had. I know that these engines had this problem so I did not know what my chain condition was
@@xXbox360Gamerx1994 Chain is stretched, but not enough to sound badly and cause problems. You have to take several pictures of this tensioner to spot the most tensioner extended position, as engine would stop in different 'places'. New chain is very tight, tensioner is barely extended.
@@nico-toscani The tensioner still has 1/4 of movement in it, at the least. Seeing the hole doesn't mean it's done for yet. The last part of it, which is still not visible, is shinny and easy to spot, when that starts to be visible then yes it's time to think about changing it, but not yet. It would be a waste of money.
@@xXbox360Gamerx1994 it might happen at a certain high mileage like 200k or 300k depending on the climate & how you drive it. These engines will survive longer on driving them long trips, each heat cycle will effect the wear on engine components specifically the cold start
@@amrmad6446 i have the speciaal tools for the chain replacement job but i am waiting for it to rattle. its stil good now i have 270.000km on the clock and everything is fine i drive long trips most of the time and I'm usually on the highway.

If there's any question at all, replace it. Or just wait till a valve get two get bent to know for sure
Good

Change the tensioner and u will
Have forever chain 😊
Is my problem that is ?
You can't see the shiny part of the piston so it's ok.
thank you for your response I take good care of my car and replace my oil every 10,000 km I'm happy that my chain is still good condition
