I don't understand why they don't have the stand flip out automatically when you unfold the device. It could even flip out the stand and lock that part into place via gravity and make it so you have to snap the stands back in. It would be a simple change that could really help make things work better the first time.

Honestly I wasn't impressed with the idea until you mentioned how long the bacon takes to cook. Less than ten minutes combined preheat and cooking time is actually really impressive for bacon that isn't microwaved. It seems to me like they invented a thing that makes bacon really well and then realized after the fact that it can sort of cook other things, too, and then they decided to market it that way. For something that seems like a bit of a uni-tasker at first glance, it's surprisingly versatile. I could see this being fantastic for dorms or for camping, and I'm sure there are tons of creative non-breakfast uses for it. Quesadillas come to mind as a strong contender, if the unit can safely operate on its side. I can also imagine burgers working well, especially if you intend to put bacon on said burger. It even folds the bacon to a bun-friendly length for you. For something a bit healthier I bet you could make a decent stir-fry on this, too, which would work well if you also have a way to cook rice.

That being said, I can do everything this does and more with my George Foreman Evolve grill that has changeable surfaces, and it cooks from the top and bottom, making things go quite a bit quicker. Bacon part seems very good. But $40 to cook bacon is a bit much. I think the grease catcher would make it easy to transfer and store the bacon grease for future cooking. The box is very misleading. Two things I did to make it easier, 1. I got some silicone rings to put the eggs in. Keep the egg in a circle and doesn’t drip into the grease collector.
    2. I use a spatula to help me pick up the egg. It would scoot around on the griddle and was hard to pick up.

Your home's incoming voltage will make a difference in how much electric heating elements heat. In the US, voltage can vary from 110 to 120. The higher the voltage, the hotter heating elements will get. This will effect cooking times and temperatures. Chances are, the manufacturer designed the unit to work on an average of 115 volts. You home may have 120 volts coming in and that might be the cause of burning. Voltage can also vary throughout the day. The unit should have had a heat control to avoid this problem.

ive noticed a standard on this brands cooking devices, most if not all seem to have only a "on" or "off" mode it would make them all legit products if they spent an extra 50 cents putting a temp control knob on them. i have to believe that for the price of this you can get something better that does the same thing

  • @seanlavoie2

It keeps the bacon warm . . . Nice feature. :)
I wonder what the target market is for a product like this?
It seems like this would be useful in only certain situations. Even if it only takes 11 minutes and doesn’t require two to three different pans.
Almost too much electricity needed (guessing) to cook for one person all the time.
Someone with space saving needs might benefit, but might already have a stove and a microwave.
Could an RV’s outlet handle the power?

Should I assume the issue of doneness for the bacon is one a matter of trial and error? Do you prefer bacon crisp, or floppy?
The men of my church get together for breakfast every month, and there is a great schism over how done the bacon should be.

About that vid you did on the cling wrap dispenser that didn't work. Have you tried the stretchtite Wrap’n Snap 7500 ? I have one and it's great! The only one I've found that has worked for me. Kinda expensive...about $35...but for me worth every penny. (no, I don't work for them or anything) All the cutters built into the boxes are awful. This one actually works!

Great review. I saw someone else do a review but they never look at instructions, They had success just using bacon grease, not wiping anything, and not using any other oil.
I like the concept, but it's just too small to be practical unless you are single.

If you already have a stove or electric griddle this honestly is probably pointless for everyday use.
However I could see how it could come in handy with the compact size if you were to take it with you camping or something to a campsite with electrical outlets.
