Great band. Followed them from the first single of "Elizabeth"- Other great songs are "Year Zero", "Cirice", "He Is", "Rats", "Faith", "Call me Little Sunshine".

The live drummer for Ghost is Hayden Scott. But he doesn't play on the records. It's a little complicated. But he has been the live drummer since the Prequelle tour back in 2018. On the record version of Mary the drummer is Swedish Ludvig Kennberg . He plays on Opus Eponymous, Meliora, Prequelle and Seven Inches of Satanic Panic. On one of the EP:s Dave Grohl drums on one track and rhe rumor is that he also have played one concert live without anyone knowing it.
Ohhhh that’s an amazing set of facts!!! I thought the moment I heard him I liked him, loved how he played and how consistent he was.

Saw them live in Los Angeles this week. They absolutely smashed it. I was blown away at how good they are live - even better than their records.

I was at both LA Shows, and they kind of ruined other concerts for me. Seeing Twenties and If You Have Ghost live was a peak moment for me.Seeing this live clip from 2022 fills my eyes with tears of joy.
This act has restored my faith in music... Maybe because Tobias Forge (the mastermind behind the Papa Emeritus figure and Ghost in general) is influenced by the earlier, more crafted rock of the '70s, '80s and early '90s. Mary On A Cross is great but one of their poppier ones. They have others in the same ilk but others that are heavier, but (almost) always with the same clean vocal.
Tobias is a master of the hook, the ear-worm. Other suggestions: *Cirice* from several years ago, pretty much anything of the new Impera album, like *Spillways* and *Griftwood,* or the brilliant but proggier *Respite on the Spitalfields.* Live versions of the evil *Year Zero* from an early album. Honestly their catalogue is so diverse and interesting.

He also credits his now-diseased brother for his interest in bands like Kiss, Def Leppard, and of course, Metallica. It's like hearing new 80's much all over again for (having grown up with the same bands). I have yet to hear a song I don't LOVE. Not like. LOVE.

Ghost is really something special, there's just a thing to them. They have great music, great showmanship and chemistry on stage, and all the people behind the Ghouls and Papa's are lovely.

I totally recommend ritual, he is, respite on the spitalfields, spillways, dance macabre, from the pinnacle to the pit and secular haze. They’re just some of my favourites

Hayden Scott is a great drummer and towers over everyone else in the band (bunch of shorties!). It's too bad he doesn't get to play on the albums. But that's Ghost... a one person band in the grand scheme. But if you dig deep into Ghost, you learn to appreciate all the musicians involved in it, but also that, in the end, it's Tobias Forge's vision and he's driving it at all times. As for the next song to react to by them, Faith from A Pale Tour Named Death. Studio audio (so you get to hear the studio drummer) with live video. It will also show you how different Ghost can sound from song to song.

I saw them live last night. Amazing show. Hayden Scott is a beast, and also a reason I started drumming barefoot too (does give me a better feel on the pedals)

Which show! I saw them 4 times on Re-Imeratour. A year before the last show I saw, I had never heard them-studio or live. Saw them once on Imperatour in Bangor Maine, and left that show (hell, left the second song OF that show-Rats) a complete and permanent fan.

If you like their live showmanship, I fully recommend Year Zero live, especially the ones from this year’s European tour, they really go all out with the visuals!

The version of Year Zero from 2016 Hellfest is amazing. This features Papa III of course (still Tobias, but with a different look. Earlier Papas were killed off by the ministry for failing in their duty to take over churches and governments 🤣)
