With the rumours becoming more and more indecisive over what the next Lumix camera is going to look like, I thought I'd make a lighthearted video showcasing the camera I'd love to see Lumix make.
The Lumix S1Hii is said to be the next lumix camera (at least that's what people are expecting), and with the EVA-1 lineup dead in the water, the real question is whether they'll tie those two lines together as their pro video offering.
As a brand, lumix really have become a merging threat with the S5II and S5IIX - showing the market what can be done in the sub $2500 price point.
I'm interested to see what Lumix have up their sleeve for the next camera drop... maybe it'll be an S1ii?
Who knows! Кино
*YOU CANNOT GET 6K WITH A 10MP SENSOR, I'M AN IDIOT* - Massive error in this video that I didn't even clock until posting - you wouldn't be able to achieve 6K resolution with a 10mp sensor. Therefore, I'd actually ask for open gate in the sensors full resolution.
Okay, cool, let's stop commenting on it 🤣
Booo 👎
At least the comments help with engagement and the algorithm! 😂
Early on I explained focus breathing like a moron. I can tell you from experience 5 years from now people will still be commenting telling you that you are wrong and if your luck is anything like mine it will become your most viewed video by then 😂
Then please do your research before you request/comment on things you do not have the knowledge on...
He has knowledge. When making videos in real time, sometimes it’s easy to misspeak and not realise. I think he was just thinking about having larger pixels a la a7s without thinking about the implications/math even though he knows how megapixels are calculated.
Another thing I would do is to have a "removable" screen that has included wireless receiver and receptor so you can detach it from the camera and receive the video feed anyway!
I want a new EVA1 camera with L mount full frame myself. Zero latency output. I like your design, reminds me of the zcam. It would need to be 20-24mp.
All of this and of top of that.
APSC version for those who want that and for those apsc cine/anamorphic lenses.
The only thing I would want in the next photography camera would be a faster sensor readout and quieter mechanical shutter. That's it.
I'd be happy with an S1H (inc LPF) + PDAF and up to 4k120 uncropped (or 4k60 uncropped, 4K120 small crop) and the file options of the S5IIX (prores, Usb-c, blackmagic, prores raw etc etc).
^this
Lumix! Hire him! His ideas are great, and he's a stud!
😂 😂 😂 😂 😂
Sold. I’d buy that camera. Lumix we need 6K Open Gate 60fps!
10MP is too low for 6k. Just do the math. 6000x4000p = 24.000.000 Pixel = 24 MP
Read pinned comment! Thank you! :)
I think you need 16mp to shot 6k open gate and more to shot in 16:9.
We already have the ibis body! I personally hope they do vnd and no ibis for the next "video" camera. Would prefer tripod or easyrig with the v-mount design 🤞
I get where you are going. 6K 50p open gate would be great, I'd use it all the time. If it could be in ProRes (LT, normal and HQ) then brilliant. Internal NDs or eND would be vital for me if going up to that price. I'm in Spain and have to use NDs almost every time I'm outside and it's a hassle. They move, they get smudged etc. I'd be happy enough with Sony NP style batteries. An ergonomic handle like the Canon C100 had would be great. 2nd version PDAF on all settings!
Nice spec. I’d imagine that it would weigh in at more like £5k to £6K en par with FX6. Live the sketch!
I wouldn't ask for too much, I just wish S5IIX was at least equipped with Cfexpress B slots and more sophisticated EVF-less body like FX3 then it would probably been my dream compact cam by now.
Nice, honestly I'd settle for an s52x in a cube or eva style form factor. But you have some nice extras on there I'd appreciate. One thing I'd want to keep from the S5 form factor tho is the EVF. Sometimes you need a flipply screen sometimes you need an EVF, and the lack of a EVF or a viewfinder on my fx6 KILLS me on some shoots.
Mate, with 6K potatoes you need 24 more vegetables to make your healthy 5 a day fresh foods total. Great plate.
Hahahaha Yeah I know! Massive error on my part that I literally didn't clock until I hit upload!
Just put a L mount and add IBIS to the Sony FX6 and call it a day, I would say. Or even better, a Canon C70 style body with a full frame L mount sensor, IBIS and Electronic ND. That is my favourite modern camera design form factor. In terms of recording, 6K 120 FPS, 4K 240 FPS 12 bit BRAW internal with Dual CFExpress Type B slots, and HEIC/HEIF image support for 10 bit stills, sweet spot between 8 bit JPEGs and 14 bit RAW with a solid buffer option. And definitely separate menus for stills and video (Can the video menu be Blackmagic Design cameras-esque?)
A LUMIX compact cine cam would be amazing! And id want it to look exactly like your accurate and highly technical drawings
😂😂😂😂
This cine camera would be amazing for documentaries 😮
For the price, hopping more in 3500, but for what if offers what you said is cool too 😂
And if they find a way to do the NDs plus the IBIS, since lumix is into doing new cool stuff, that would be 🤯
Sony already has most of those features covered in spades around that price point. Unless they came in significantly cheaper or came is with some fundamentally better specs (4k240p for instance) there is very little chance people would opt that over the FX6 & FX3 options that currently exist and which even have a thriving used market.
I know they probably can't do this for legal reasons, but if I were them I'd focus on developing a nice slim Sony E, Canon RF and Nikon Z to L mount adaptor, ideally at about $160 for each adaptor (electric aperture but not AF compatible) because at the moment I think some of the best lenses are available in those mounts only (Tamron 35-150, Canon 24-105 f2.8).
For 4500 dollars a camera that rivals the fx6, it would be a camera that I would buy up to 3 times
I would also want a interface to have the camera drive a follow focus motor, that work's with its built in auto-focus so you can use those manual lenses.
I wish there was a new universal attachment system like Arca Swiss or Ulanzi's built into the camera. I really don't feel safe with a tiny 1/4" screw holding expensive eqipment.
Low rolling shutter, proper exposure bracketing step (niw it's only 7ev which is a joke), hdmi lag fix
They can add a screen into the BGH1 body
im on board for this beautiful imaginary camera!
What if it looks exactly like my drawing? Would you still want it? ;)
@@JoshCamerondude I’m not gonna lie I would pay double hahaha
the only thing I would change would be the position of the monitor, as I would prefer it to be able to move around similar to the fx6
I am sure there is a large demand for something like this/alexa successor but probably wouldn't suit my needs. I wouldn't mind something similar form to an FX3 though. Sort of an evf-less smaller form factor S5IIx with maybe a more retro Leica M influenced design language.
Picture rendering of s5 and video rendering of s5ii = perfect camera
Lumix could make their version of an FX6 and I'd buy it -- call it a full-frame EVA1 if you want to. I'd buy it. Call it a S1H in a cinema camera body -- I'd buy it.Yeah, simple stuff with hardware and technology that exists right now! The bigger question is why they haven't offered it yet. Why did I sell my FX6? -- because I thought Lumix (or Black Magic) would've made this new camera by now.
I wish Panasonic would abandon mft and invest into aps-c. I would take a video centric aps-c version of the s5iix that had smaller lighter lens lineup than the full frame brethren. I guess what I really want is a crop sensor lens lineup. Call me crazy but I keep my s5 in crop mode 24/7
Off subject, do you think Panasonic or Sigma will make a 35-150mm lens see some small rumours but very isolated...supposedly Samyang has joined the L-Mount thats a lens again allegedly maybe made....
I love this camera design and if I did it myself I think I would have made something super similar. Only difference is I would prefer the NDs over stabilization. Having to switch NDs manually all day during a doc style shoot is not fun. I use the FX6 at my day job every day and it's truly a great camera. If the S1H2 or EVA2 is basically a carbon copy of the FX6 I'd be a day 1 buyer.
I just thought you were testing us, 10Mpix to 6K open gate. You could go the other way, and downsample/merge to 10Mpix, but why? I would put multiple usb-c ports, power, SSD, and maybe teathering or video out. An rj45, and POE input with full control, and saving via scp/streaming. Did you say "built in ND", I missed it if you did.
32bit float internal! Why arent camera manufacturers doing this?? Partner with Sound Devices and put a couple of their preamps into the camera.
Чтобы с фотоаппарата можно было совершать телефонные звонки.... 😂😂😂
Sony FX3 is 12Mpx and is a low light monster. What you design is a competitor from Panasonic for the Sony FX3.
I want the GH7 to have much better battery life than the GH6.
I would like if next camera would be inspired by the body of sigma fp with little grip and fan..
I don’t get wanting the buttons and screen on the side if you plan on run and gun.
Internal ProRes 4444? I mean... 12 Bit 4:4:4 Video with Lens Correction? 🤤🤤🤤
Just fix the annoying HDMI delay problem for S5ii before making any new stuff plz, such an obvious and cruelty issue. And it should be solved easily by them but still no news. Not to mention Panasonic kept saying S5ii is also aiming to doing live streaming. No, it definitely isn’t.
I don't believe you can get 6K on a 10mp sensor. Believe you need at least ~20mp for that. Could be wrong, though.
Only clocked and realised after posting! See pinned comment! :)
U know 10mp sensor can't shoot 6K videos right😆
mate l would continue the 24mp sensor but with a stacked version and all the remaining features as u said!!
ND filter is a tuf one, drastically rises the cost of the camera
people should know how to use single stop nd by using exposure for better image quality (griffin hammond the OG uses them still, better to use magnetic ones for interchanging
Why no raw mate?
i wish panasonic works on low bitrate versions of raw like 8:1 or 12;1 compression
Hahaha! I realised after the first person commented and can't believe how I overlooked that and didn't realise ! Only human after all :)
I think RAW doesn't need to be shot in camera, at least for my workflow. It's a lovely thing to use every now and then, but even if it was available in camera, I just don't think I'd really use it!
People would go crazy! Myself included 🤣
Imagine the scenes! It'd be wild hahahaha
If you could ask for only two things in the next Lumix camera, what would they be?
4K 120 no crop 🙏 + Built in NDs 🙏
@@lonelymediastudios 21hII should have 4k 120 no crop, olpf, & 10-15ms rolling shutter. I SAID WHAT I SAID.
Without an internal ND this design is crippled. Also requires a LPF to prevent moiré. For video those are the two essentials I hear over and over.
How about CF + internal SSD like Hasselblad?
And the same menu interface as Blackmagic, which is far superior to all others.
For 6K you'd need a 24MP sensor which I would call the sweet spot anyway.
Read pinned comment! It would have to be 24mp but that makes 4K 120 more difficult!
No internal raw in this hypothetical camera haha? Either way, take my money
I wouldn't use it! I'm totally find outputting via HDMI if I need RAW! :) Hahahaha, but yes, here's my money still😂
@@JoshCameron hahah fair enough. Lets hope they take your ideas into consideration
So essentially a BS1H with a screen, IBIS and phase detect AF...
And different form factor, and open gate, and better rolling shutter performance .... Maybe I'm asking for too much🤣
You never said what dynamic range you would have
Whatever the sensor is capable of! I think the amount of DR we have currently is more than enough for my use case :)
Let josh drive the boat
You left yourself open by allowing the comment section.... I'm looking for a camera.... any camera that includes night vision and infrared photography capabilities as well.
I don't quite understand why this video has such controversial thumbs ratio. Can't be the little literal miscalculation, surely? It all sounds reasonable, really.
Anyway, I'm not very demanding. Cram the G9ii into a G90 and you have a perfect camera for me, haha. It's more about lenses for me, really.
hi Josh.
I have problems connecting the Panasonic S5mark 2 via bluetooth to the Ronin RS3 stabilizer, there are no problems with Sony and Canon. Ronin responded in an official letter that this is a Panasonic problem, it’s a shame that Panasonic was not informed about these problems of using with the best stubs, I wouldn’t I bought it, it’s a shame. I connected the Canon, Son, Panasonic to the Ronin BNZ, it doesn’t work. How to connect the Panachonic so that the record button works on the stabilizer?????? there is no video on this topic.... on RUclips ashamed for the deception and shortcomings
THIS GUY HAS NO CLUE WHAT HE IS SAYING
Thank You :)
