@@alicjacichy5352 I don't think it was that bad. He didn't disagree with what Alvin said about his dish, but he said "it looks burnt, but it doesn't taste burnt i promise." Obviously he shouldn't have said it but it's not like he downright said Alvin was wrong.

Standard apple pies use a lot of spicing in the apple filling + take more skill than they seem because of the need to focus on pastry and apples, donuts are simply fried dough

Imma play the Devil's Advocate here. He is a one-trick pony. No hate on the guy but c'mon he legit makes Portuguese every. single. time. (As far as I know whenever he was put in a situation where he couldn't cook Portuguese, this madlad simply put a Portuguese twist on it.) That's why his meals get berated. In a lot of the auditions as well they expect you to know other cuisine and will ask if you seem to be cooking something in your comfort zone. This is MasterChef. Your expected to excel in every aspect not just something your familiar with.
