With Gordon Ramsey, you want your food to be perfect because out of respect you don't want to disappoint him.

Dora's excuse that the beef cheeks weren't seasoned was because she's never cooked with them before, but she knew that tough cuts of meat make good stew. So that means she never seasons stew meat? Or doesn't know in general that meat should be seasoned?

Gordon Ramsey is critical but we all can sense that his criticisms comes from a good place because he actually care about the food and the people making them. That what makes many of us actually like or even love him.

The only time they are super harsh is in the later episodes of a season. When they do (which is rare) it's simply because the person was so confidant and smug about how they cook and plus, it's later in the show, they should know the expectations that the judges have for what they cook
