As soon as I heard that there are only enough eggs to complete the challenge, my first thought was, you've got to break each egg into that poach bowl, individually, until you get one without a broken yolk. If you've already beaten your eggs for the omlette and now you're cracking the egg for poaching, you only get one chance.

@@chapacoka No, Alvin didn't taste them. If you looked closely, you can tell that he only cut into them without tasting. Basic things require a lot of skill too, you could see how difficult it was to cook 3 different types of eggs perfectly in 8 minutes. However, I agree, Masterchef Canada is lame, especially when compared to other countries. What I garnered from this show is that Canada is great at many things but cooking isn't one of them. Especially when I saw that pizza episode, I was having a mental breakdown. If you put these participants head to head with participants from other countries, they would fail in an extremely humiliating way.
I feel like if kevin started with the poached egg and messed up the egg. I would crack 2 eggs into my bowl where my omelette would be. Then I would put the cracked egg in the omelette bowl because there gonna whisk it up. And then you got a second try. That simple

for us, you're the real winner sir.
You start with the poached egg in case you crack a yolk. This was really cool to watch. Gives me sous chef flashbacks and I don't miss it.

Probably taste
@@skelebonez1349 lmao Alvin didn't taste the others so why would he try his?
@@user-hb6yd4nm3h Alvin could have tasted the others but they decided not to show it?
@@chapacoka No, Alvin didn't taste them. If you looked closely, you can tell that he only cut into them without tasting. Poached eggs are like soft-boiled eggs anyway, which can't be seasoned during cooking if you're looking to do it right. It's all about presentation and integrity through technique (under pressure, in this case), and Kevin plated a bad example.

masterchef canada: eggs
You try cooking 3 types of eggs in 8 minutes
@@TheMemeSchemer now what
Lol awkward
Basic things require a lot of skill too, you could see how difficult it was to cook 3 different types of eggs perfectly in 8 minutes. However, I agree, Masterchef Canada is lame, especially when compared to other countries. What I garnered from this show is that Canada is great at many things but cooking isn't one of them. Especially when I saw that pizza episode, I was having a mental breakdown. If you put these participants head to head with participants from other countries, they would fail in an extremely humiliating way.
Link to the video for the MasterChef Australia? The one you just mentioned
Its anyones game - David 🤓
Kevin literally destroyed one of his eggs and Andrew had two out three at mediocre levels. Easily knew Cody nailed them all
Cody: “as a cook I have changed, my hands are much more steady”
Cody’s hands near the end of the challenge: are you sure about that
True lmfao
Kevin : i have mastered the art of poached egg.
Poached egg : aight I'm gonna end this man's whole career.
I feel like if kevin started with the poached egg and messed up the egg. I would crack 2 eggs into my bowl where my omelette would be. Then I would put the cracked egg in the omelette bowl because there gonna whisk it up. And then you got a second try. That simple
Yh that is a smart factor but sometimes when ur under a LOT of pressure you don’t think about alternatives and back up plans like these.

You are a filthy peasant, I'm glad you know it though. Here's a secret sweetheart: If you shop at your local grocery store, you are a peasant. Those with money like me have not only people pick it up for them, but get from local retailer shop-gates (a shop-gate means before they go to market, we can get it...aka fresh meat and eggs, etc.). 6:37 Cody’s face looks as if he will “attack” the chi if he doesn’t say it’s good
8:41
I like Alvin's face when he said *"Just slightly overcooked"* to Andrew about his poached egg
id cook the poached first because if i cracked the yolk it wouldnt matter because i could use it to use it for the omelete
Edit: i dont know much about cooking but id get two pots on boil right away, while waiting for it to boil id start cracking the eggs for poached and scrambled and if i crack the poached egg id use it for scrambled then right after this stick the boiled egg in, then start to throw the other eggs in
WHY DO I HAVE LIKES
well then again they begin with cold maybe warm water, its smart to do the omelet first and they all saw that. but i like your thinking
im only 9 so im delusional but your probably right also i didnt even know i got likes
@@MrValtteri90 same, i feel attacked by his comment
Well you're partially right whats the ideal in this kinda situation is first crack that egg and put it in a small bowl just make sure that the yolk is not messed up then do the omelet
Put the egg in water for soft boil
Then poach the egg
Btw the way you think is good for a 9 year old and happy new year
Tech Light thanks and happy new year
Gordon’s first step to make soft boiled egg is probably salting the water.
no not necessarily
its really about timing and education
