👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Check your fuel pump relay Relay will turn pump on for 2-4 seconds when ignition is first turned on. Relay is on during crank, then when engine starts and is over 450rpm relay will stay on as long as TD signal is supplied by ignition control module. For testing jumper pin 7 + 8 on fuel pump relay socket
I did jump pins 7+8 and still didn't hear the pump it's either that quite or I'm just hard of hearing lol, but I'm getting fuel to the distributor so it's evidently working but thanks for checking out my channel 👍
Is the 500 Sel the one to own? When it comes to older mercedes, before the fall. Back when they used to be known for reliability. I'd like to do a mercedes resto mod, but I'm not sure which one to start with. Thanks!
It all depends on how much money you want to spend and what you're going to use a W126 car for. The 5 cylinder diesel cars are far cheaper to get back on the road compared to a gasoline powered car in most cases but the gasoline cars are much more desirable and faster than the diesel cars. Thanks for checking out my channel!
@@neglectedeuros Well I'd be looking for a luxury 4 door, that I could make even more luxurious than it was originally. Sounds like the gasoline model is what you'd want. I'm assuming there wasn't a "Model S" back then, but is there a particular gasoline model that is "the one to have"?
@Enermax Stephens about the most luxurious cars would have to be the 90-91 560SEL and 560SEC unless you really want to spend some decent amount of money to get a custom car like a AMG or a Carat Duchalet and some of the pre merger AMG cars are going for six figures.
500SEL (Gen1 W126) or 560SEL (Gen2 W126) were both the top-of-line S-Class models of the era. The 560's have a bit more power, 15" wheels and some added gadgetry, but are also more complex with air bags, anti-lock brakes, leveling suspension, etc. I personally like and own a 500SEL because it's simply and about 200 pounds lighter than the 560. 184hp is fine for me as a cruiser.
@@westhavenor9513 Do you think that could be increased to 284hp without affecting the road manners? Keeping the original mercedes smoothness. I have a few old classics that are lower power like that. I like to drive them fairly frequently, and they're just not up to par on the modern highway. Sometimes you just need more power to get the job done.
Welcome
How many pills do you need to remove the gasoline tank filter?
Pills?
Yeah these Mercedes are a PITA to work on. It’s basically a full time job needing lots and lots of pills. 😂
Quiet pump, nice to see all new
Very quiet 😁

Fuel pumps on Early W126s didn’t come on when the key is Turned ON. The pumps would start operating when cranking
How do I find a fuel hose??
I found all the parts on FCP Euro and thanks for watching 👍
@@neglectedeuros Could you share the details of the fuel pump and fuel filter you used in your video?
