I hope they took the time to improve the look and optimization of the blood and gore effects too. My understanding is that it was disabled in this test build because of the requirements to demo this at Tokyo Game Show. But it will return in the newer, public builds whenever that drops.
Yeah, I read that they had to tone down the violence to be featured on the main floor. The blood and gore effects are absolutely being worked on! GalaxyHighMarshal is the developer responsible for that stuff and he has a great RUclips channel you can follow here: ruclips.net/video/OHeSuDKt3mA/видео.html (most recent blood update) I would expect performance improvements to mainly come closer to release. Most games lock that stuff in at the end when projects are close to feature complete although we might see small improvements before that. Thanks for watching!
you can check out Boreal Blade for inspiration and understanding some mechanics i think. that game nails the full control of the sword and directions in which the attacks go.
I'll check it out. Not really many melee like games like these out there. Die by the Sword (from 1998) was always my go to for free-form melee combat. Thanks for watching!
@@Aaron-ly7oy I've showcased it before: ruclips.net/video/h3GYlkQtGVY/видео.html Definitely still worth it today. If you grab Die by the Sword from gog.com just make sure to get the Xtended mod and crank your DPI \m/

@@Totallynotkyubey well yea but I like the idea of a fight to the death will medieval fights however I do like the facts they surrender I just don't think they should do it as much but as you said it's fixed so I will be happy to play it once I get home haven't had a chance to see that update I didn't know they fixed that
@@LFD-gorecreator that was another thing that upset me was there was no gore will there be a update on this beta to get the gore back or do we have to wait until the full release
@@drspalding31 This build was created to be shown at gaming conventions that won't allow that type of thing on the main floor. I can't say what they'll do between now and release, but I respect whatever decisions they make until then. I mean, they gotta keep some surprises tucked away for us :D
1-hit kills/KO's will always be a part of physics based games. As the A.I improves the fights might get longer, but I guess we'll see. I also edited these down a bit. I could have left more slobber knockers in there, but they were usually just the A.I swinging at me as I try to get up for 20 seconds like in the last clip lol Thanks for watching!
I'm not really sure how the damage in Smash Bros is calculated so maybe not? Most fighting games just have a set amount of damage per attack. Like in Street Fighter a medium punch is the same no matter how both of you are moving or where you are. I mean games like this, Exanima, or even older games like Fight Night Round 4. In game objects and characters carry weight and momentum which affect the result and amount of damage when they collide. Basically fast and heavy things hurt more than slow and light things all based on information calculated by game engine's physics simulation (although there is way more to it than that). Thanks for watching!

i dont like the fact that you win when they give up its supposed to be a fight to the DEATH!!!!!
These clips are obviously before a patch that made the AI less likely to surrender.
Still, duels weren't necessarily to death.
