It can always be cleaner, but I would say I'm being fairly economical with my attacks here considering the weapon matchups and armor tier.

@@Vineor See, now this is a quality interaction. It can be so easy for two people to talk right through each other on this platform. Not that warranted or helpful criticism isn't welcome, but since my videos have gotten more traffic lately I've learned not to let that flood gate open too wide 🤣I'm just learning the game along with everyone else. I never really got the hang of Hellish Quart although I did think it was cool, and I've never played Mordhau. You might find Exanima interesting if you like those games. It was pretty experimental, but also very cool. Half Sword is my favorite right now and this version plus the demo are free on Steam. Highly recommend if you've got something to run it on.

@@Lrzmsibelts Oh no, that's not what I'm saying at all! I didn't mean for it to come off like that if it did. I'm saying you're right, because you're not the only one who thinks so 💪Definitely similarities with the physics based melee and grappling!

Hold alt and then hold the mouse button of the hand you want to stab with. Your character will automatically bring that hand back to prepare for the stab. When alt and mouse button are held you just move the mouse up to stab and then down to bring it back. You can also double click the mouse button, but I prefer to hold alt with the mouse button and stab with mouse movement.

Yeah, I play at 2560x1440 on a 144Hz monitor. I just render at 4K because it looks much better on RUclips (I believe it's because RUclips affords a higher bitrate to 4K videos, but I'm not 100% certain that's why). I upload in the highest quality I can, but there is definitely some quality loss by the time it hits RUclips. The game looks better on my screen when it's actually running. What quality setting do you use? I find this game looks noticeably softer on any setting other than Epic. Probably uses crappier anti-aliasing or some sort of image scaling maybe? Even dropping down to high seems to make a big difference to my eyes. I still get some frame drops in Small Burhurt on high so I just leave it on Epic and deal with the worse frame drops for now. It's not that easy, but with some practice you can definitely do it consistently. It's mostly about releasing the weapon at the right time. Been getting better results lately throwing my main weapon as well. Yeah, characters and physics objects really tax the CPU. Small Buhurt can make my frame rate plummet with all the armor and NPC's. I watched your video though. At least it's kind of playable so you can get a taste of it for now. Also, I'm not heart reacting your difficulty in running that game, but because you commented :D

Sure is. Right click the game in your Steam Library and pick your version from the "Beta Participation" drop down box in the "Betas" tab. The "legacy - Warbox UE4 Legacy Branch" is the one with the good gore. I would expect a decent bit of stuttering and the interface is brutally unintuitive, but it costs less than takeout and can provide some really cool moments. You'll need a very high jank tolerance but it is definitely possible to have fun with the older builds. I would just ignore the newest build for now.

It was a bug in early versions where getting a piece of someone stuck on your scythe meant you got launched. If you were actually trying to get far you'd have to drop the weapon right away if any pieces got stuck. The dude being 110% ready for me to land seems to be everyone's favorite moment from my channel 🤣 Thanks for watching!

Each tier has it's own challenges for sure. The margin for error is small in all playlists, even if you can get away with some stuff armored. You can even save some rounds with grappling in armor that you'd die for without it. The name of the game with armor is staying on your feet and controlling stamina. When you knock them down I'd just say get any quick hit in to keep them grounded and then just go for repeated head trauma when you get a second to line up your shots better. Gotta actually KO them and see you won before holding G. Thanks for watching!

Player only got sliced while the ai got stabbed which is considered an instant win?

I held G to advance the round as soon as I saw I won. I did enough damage to disable him and win, but he just barely didn't do enough to me. The black around the screen means I was rocked (almost knocked out) and the red at the top means I had cut damage on my head too. I was definitely at close to 1 health point. I could have died if either of us moved an inch, or I also might have died a second after this anyway. You can also still die even after you win. For example; if you're bleeding and you're about to die but you win you have to hold G right away. It takes a second of holding G it to end the round. If you bleed out before the little timer fills up or you let go you die and lose. Thanks for watching!

Not quite. I just put him in the disabled state before he did enough to kill me which triggered the win. If things had been slightly different I would have died first. It was close though. The next round was even sketchier where I get KO'd at 13:49. I consider that the end of the run as I got KO'd (and why I called this multiple runs), but how that one wasn't a death is beyond me 🤣 Thanks for watching!

Yes, definitely. I picked up Exanima two weeks ago and I've been loving it. I would say it's a lot harder to get used to than this though!

Yes, the gauntlets in spoilance are hilarious. My favorite weapon along with the buckler shield. Landing those big hooks to the face feels so good.

TPP would destroy FPP most likely so yeah, I'd say they'd have to split them if they figure out some multiplayer options.

I don't think we're going to get multiplayer with this one unfortunately. The mix ups you could get up to against real people with these controls would be diabolical, so I feel you big time. Syncing complex physics over network just doesn't work well enough yet, but I suppose we can always hope for some kind of breakthrough. I hope it at least has splitscreen so you could use parsec to play online (it's already been modded into the demo). Maybe after the main game lands we could get a multiplayer version later down the road with the same controls, but toned down physics. I also think a VR version would be cool later down the road. @@PACMAN11155 Obscurity: Threat Unknown is another indie game that syncs ragdoll over network. It looks and feels really great. I would rather they focus on offline balance and physics first, hence why I said a separate MP version down the road would suit me fine. If they could pull it out of their hat for version 1.0 I'd also be impressed as long as nothing is taken from the core offline modes. We'll have to see. Thanks for watching!

Yo, I have come so close to buying that game so many times, but every time I'm about to hit purchase I remember the combat footage and I've seen and say "maybe later". I might grab it one day before the sequel is out. You might be interested in a game called "Kinstrife". It's very early in development, but it's planned to be an open world RPG with combat more like this. God no, this is fun as a tech demo but you can't really do much with this in an rpg. The combat from KCD just needs to be refined more, which it seems to have been in the sequal.

@@HandyDandy6 Half Sword might seem a bit wild to be an RPG, but I think you could definitely keep the power creep and have the physics. Could probably even keep one hit kills in there at the start. Just make it so the skills that facilitate landing fatal strikes need to be levelled up, for example; Strength allows heavier and longer weapons, Agility nets you more stamina (and maybe some bullet time at high level), Smithing means better armor and sharper weapons that break less and have a greater chance to break enemies weapons/armor, Intelligence means better dialogue and tech, etc. And that's just off the top of my head. Could still make walking into a level 20 area as a level 5 a bad idea, even with the physics based combat. Fit the lore and encounters well with progression and I think it would be great. That said I respect that you like KCD's system and don't want this style of gameplay anywhere near your game. Some games have a unique flavor that require all parts to be intact. I still remember when almost every shooter aped Call of Duty for years after CoD4, so I get it.

​@LFD-gorecreator The issue I have with it, is that you can't really have the main Character improve at swordplay with this system in quite the same way as KCDs existing one. Though I think this is fun, the point of KCD was for you to start as a blacksmiths boy, who can barely fight at all, to a knight. With the changes your suggesting, I don't think you'd see the drastic improvement in your Henry that many people like the game for in the first place.
