    0:49 usually, emotion lies at the root of all action
    5:30 the emotional problem can be solved in two ways: 1) reduction of emotional stress, 2) expression of emotional purpose
    7:39 we expect people who care for us to be a little jealous and possessive
    8:35 whatever nature doesn't approve can't be right for us
    8:42 nature penalizes all excess and rewards us for moderation
    9:28 nature wishes us to learn self-control without inhibition

    Leisure is only a sign of success, if out of it creativity comes. We are never the better for resting. We are always the better for being at it in some way, doing the things we believe to be valuable. But over this activity, we must have the common sense, and vision, and understanding, and our leisure must develop around a solid core of facts and real knowing.
    Or else we find a new way of wasting time on the dramatinzing of things wich are not in themselves of any importance.

    Great lecture. I took the easiest route available, too easy to the point I feel almost no one I know does this (or if they do, they’re too busy doing it like me) but I enjoy meditative dancing purely for keeping rhythm. I figure if no one is going to care when I’m feeling down and lost, they wouldn’t mind if I take that time while lost to supercharge my vessel like a battery. Life’s great.

    Leisure means the right of the individual to find the ways to fill his own life. A Neurosis is a proof that he didnt do it. If this is the case there is nothing we can do about the past, but we can certainly begin to think about doing something now. We also have the tendency to feel that everything is too little or too late that having reached middle life or past without having taken advantage of opportunity, all we can do now is regret and have another negative emotion. All this is quite foolish.

    I think sin, really and simply, refers to original intent. The further one steps away from the original intent of anything in creation, including inventions of man, the more difficulty they would have in utilizing the thing and realizing the proper end result... And, I think it's pretty clear that has to do with the body we were given, as well as, the soul and the spirit. When you sin, you're using a wrench as a hammer. It may work for a time. However, damage will more than likely occur to the wrench and the nail and the wood the nail is being driven into.
    You've missed the mark, in regard to what you were supposed to do and how to do it. The end result isn't what was intended. Now, how far away from the end result you get is the only question. Have you just failed to realize the full potential of the desired end result by causing varying degrees of damage to the process or brought an end to the process, in other words, death?
    Matthew 15:9 But in vain they do worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.’”

    • @smiksmagger3446
      @smiksmagger3446 2 года назад

      Agreed. I feel sin is like going against nature. The word sin has lost a lot of it’s power but I have found sinning in the long run will get in the way of finding happiness and peace of mind, so it is actually in your own interest to not sin and not necessarily to please a higher power.

    Come on Manly... Fear, in the Bible, means to respect and to be in awe of. A fear of heights is what keeps iron workers from falling off the beams. They aren't walking in terror, day in day out. They respect the fact that if they step off the narrow path, death is waiting at the sudden stop at the bottom.
