- Everybody has their own opinions about how doors should be on different cars, but my personal opinion is that these mid engine Corvette should have Vertical Doors. By the way, they are Vertical Doors, not Lambo doors, because Lamborghini is only 1 of many like the Mclaren F1, Mclaren P1, BMW I8, Ferrari Enzo, LaFerrari, Ford GT, and even the Toyota Sera that uses a vertical hinge system! When Vertical Doors Inc needed a test car to develop and install from scratch a new kit, I lent them my car and after a week and a few different designs, they came up with the best system and it's been great. It's definitely made getting in and out of the car a little bit easier, and also a lot easier when parking in tight spots that you can't avoid. you can still actually get out of the car without raising the door if you want. The system works very simply and is easy to use. I can lift and close the door with one hand. Everywhere I've gone the first comment has always been that people loved the vertical doors, including the Chevy dealership lol. If anyone's interested in a kit for their Corvette whether it's a base or Z06, please let me know as I'm a dealer for them now through my NASCAR team shop. That really makes parking problems easier. Wish more cars had it so I didn’t have to worry so much about door dings.
I never thought about it as something that would solve that problem so I got these and then I saw how much better they'd life

There's probably a reason why he doesn't show what it takes to close those doors from a seated position from inside the car. Must be a pain in the a$$.

Looks good been thinking about, great detail on opening the doors. I didn’t know how practical I would use them on a daily basis. Like getting gas or in out the garage with my motorcycle and truck parked beside my C8. Overall C8 Z06 looks amazing with them!!

Hey i have a 2023 c8 and i want to get my car door like tht also but the guy who was going to install it for me told me not to do it as it damages the fenders.. is that true? Or have u experienced that?
It only damages fenders if you have a terrible installer. Vertical door is the only thing that is missing in a c8 that of a super car. I don’t know why chevy is not having that as an option.

Jesse, would love to know your thoughts on daily use practicality of the vertical doors. So if this is my daily driver and I'm getting in/out multiple times a day, every day, how would the vertical doors fit this daily use lifestyle? Or are they more for a show car type of use rather than every day? Would like to know how you feel about them a few months later.
I actually like them for daily use, it makes it easier especially when I'm in a tight spot. I need to get out of the car. They look great wherever you go as well. Now if you don't have strong arms, or if you have a bad shoulder, this is definitely not for you.

Then let us install the V1 series on your C8. Our kit raises and lowers with two fingers! as well as goes over a foot higher and stays close to the car.

If the door actuation was truly straight up and down vertical like a McLaren, that would be nice and maybe desirable. Having to swing the doors open halfway and then lift them vertical is a deal killer for me. It’s like what’s the point? Hey everybody, look at my cool doors that look kind of like a Lamborghini but don’t pull them open too hard….
