Medically there isn’t any equivalent in men’s health that encompasses the unique physiological interaction and exchange between a female and embryo/fetus during pregnancy. To identify one would require defining some other process (i.e., rapidly growing and differentiating collection of cells) as human life (i.e., think malignant cells that are seen as uniquely human in their own right), that would impact the health of males (e.g., some male reproductive system malignancy). By virtue of this distinction, males are spared any direct health impacts related to pregnancy. From a social perspective, it’s a result of male dominance; a preferential and self declared advantage that would be mote if pregnancy or reproduction was framed such that the primary focus was from a female perspective; matriarchal; feminist. So by this it’s an assertion of power or authority over women which lacks any direct potential of adversely affecting men. Imagine if a metaphysical power existed such that a man who denied a woman a life saving procedure would be struck down with death and the woman would be spared. Since this doesn’t exist, men have taken great advantage to shape all metaphysical and moral systems around what does exist, a woman is the one who losses life, to reinforce this power structure. Its relevance only exists because men said so, completely skewing all benefits to their favor while leaving all the detriment to woman.

If we can take the absurd religious claims out of the discussion then it comes down to an absolute scientific definition of life versus a legal definition. Under the law, a human under the age of 18 in the US does not have the same rights as someone who reaches 18. In the same way, it is not reasonable to confer the same rights to a fertilized egg as we do to a 10 year old child. We observe gradations of legal rights with humans rather than absolute, theocratic ones.
I don’t want to change the subject because it’s a very important one; nevertheless, I wanted to mention that the recent Supreme Court absurd rulings regarding the 3rd chapter of the 14th amendment are illegal! The 3rd section of the 14th amendment is purposefully written very plain and clearly as to be easily understood by everyone and is self-executing to avoid any court from having to step in and make a ruling! I’m encouraging every US state to fully ignore the Supreme Courts ruling regarding ruling in this matter, and to exclude Donald Trump from the primary ! Because it is our constitutional right to do so, under the law! right to do so ballot and omit Donald Trump from the ballot because he took part in an insurrection and interfered with our election process! For this reason, Donald Trump is excluded from ever running for any and all government officers in the United States of America for life!

So true! I still shake my head over the one representative (ignoramus) who asked if a woman had an ectopic pregnancy if the embryo could be removed from wherever it was in the woman’s body and planted into the woman’s uterus!

It just dawned on me listening to this. We are heading for the necessity of a shift in consciousness in terms of medical treatment in this country in the not so distant future. This country and our health care system spend billions and billions of dollars keeping people alive whose condition will not improve and whose quality of life is minimal. The way things are heading, we can’t afford to keep this up or those whose lives could be improved with treatment will not be able to get it. What a can of worms that will open. Can’t wait to see these pro-lifers response to that! Wait til one of their 10 year old kids can’t get a life-sustaining surgery because octogenarians on ventilators have eaten up all the resources. Then we’ll see how committed they are to the sanctity all life.

It struck me it might help to take a look at what our physicians and nurses are going through and the constraints under which they must function, like it or not. I understand many have quit the profession b/c it's gotten so bad. I, personally, was precluded from the profession b/c I asked too many questions, among other things. I didn't fit into others' agendas. I still don't. They can have it. However, if you multiply this out, the implications for healthcare in our country are not good. This is an easy thing to dismiss until it's your backside on an exam table in an ER somewhere, and the "nurse" who comes in to get you started doesn't even know how to take a proper blood pressure.
Like Boeing, our healthcare system and that which contributes to its regulation needs a thorough review and an upgrade. The Bozos and idiots who can do nothing but take advantage for political expediency need to go.
The doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals are less likely to be American because of the extremely high cost of education here. The healthcare professionals that grew up when costs were lower are now retiring. The doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals from countries that are providing free or reduced cost education are the ones who have been replacing our Americans in our best paying positions. If we try to support our American young people, these Republicans have been giving us some garbage about it being "socialism." I was there, and I remember in 1949 that those Wisconsin Republicans were working hard to make sure that extended educations were available to everyone for a minimal cost. They twisted the arms of the rich pretty hard, but the rich paid for the creation and development of many major institutions at that time. It was only after Reagan that students were expected to bear the long-term burden of property mortgages, maintenance, and improvement. A university student in 1964 could pay $45 for a course and $42 for a used textbook. If they continued to live at home, they could manage to graduate without any loans having only worked part-time. Reagan was the one who threw the American Citizens out into the streets. McConnell made certain that we stayed there.

You know these obgyns are basically facing "Jim Crow" type laws. Where their belief and ability to practice with the fullest ethics and integrity are being forced to comply with laws that violate the Constitution itself. Like Big Mama used to say about Jim Crow in the South, "When God says one thing and then the laws oppose Him. The laws should never make you question what God said." America on a national level is very much aligned with His word. The states not as much. Neither State nor Federal Govt belong in personal family decisions. Thats intrusion, Govt overreach, thats oppression and God actually speaks against that. That is also authoritarianism, not liberal democracy not what is written in our foundational documents.
On another note...
For all the Christians who claim falsely that "life begins at conception" What God actually reveals in the scripture is that "at conception" a fetus does not have life, it is on the "life support machine called Mommy" and the fetus is actually not clean and not one with Him until the baby exits the womb and is no longer one with the Mother. The baby is not breathing on its own, where there is no oxygen, there is no heart beat, where there is no heartbeat there is no "life".

Even if you agreed with the idea “life begins at conception,” you could still prioritize the life of the mother over the life of the fetus. Plants are alive too but we prioritize lives of humans over the life of an individual plant. Same for an ant. We know from science that human embryos very often fail naturally to grow into babies who are born alive, so it is not the same thing as murder to stop an embryo from continuing to develop into a child.
Arizona Senator Eva Burch went on air in Phoenix, Arizona to describe her medically necessary abortion after yet another unviable pregnancy this week. It was incredibly brave and it put a face on this issue. She described how cruel the entire process was to an already grieving person. Perhaps you could get her to testify first hand to horrors of the current system, the one they are trying to dismantle?
Whem the supreme Court decided that we were a theocracy and not a democracy, we are headed down a bad road.
