President Biden's chips & science act is doing that, they are making the electrical grid efficient and capable of accepting energy from intermittent sources, they are making our goods transportation system efficient, seed money to make geothermal plants && electrical plans more efficient (more energy out of sane inputs), making chips ETCETERA in America so we don't depend on worldwide supply chains which will break down due to climate. The London Financial Times recently had a clip about how President Bidens agenda is shaking up the world because he's acting so forcibly on climate change.

Sen Whitehouse I'm disappointed in the lack of reaction to the most brazen corruption from SCOTUS in my lifetime. Legally meritless decisions that explicitly admit to being political, Clarence Thomas still refusing to recuse on 1/6 matters in which his wife is mentioned throughout the evidence. I don't know if this is a political directive not to make waves but I'm deeply disappointed, if not downright angry.

If we didn't have an industry that owns the US government fighting tooth and nail to do nothing, could we hit our goals then? If we held Exxon, Chevron, and other US oil companies accountable for the things that they've done over the last 50 years or so and just nationalized them, could we hit our targets then? The fossil fuel industry makes big tobacco look like Weebelos, why do they continue to get a free pass when they're literally working to kill everyone?

Beware the nights warmer than the days. A single night warmer than the days will shut down vegetable crops. A single night warmer warmer than the days will stop crops from growing and producing.
I’m a horticulturist in Rome, GA and it happened the springs of 2021 and 2022. Days were 75F but nights were warm and one night got to 80F and all of the vegetable plants stopped growing. Immature fruit rotted on the plants a few weeks later. Tomatoes, okra, corn, squashes, eggplant and more just stopped growing completely…did not die did not grow did not produce.
    No one know this
It’s plant DIF….plants need a day/night temp difference and the less it is the less plants will grow and produce. 1 night warmer and they stop completely and do not start back.
My name is Jimmy Greer and I stand by my observations.

While America has wonderful Statesmen like Whitehouse, it has become increasingly evident that she needs her younger generation to assert itself, claim ownership of issues like climate change, and demand aggressive action. Feeding the purses of fat Capitolists with a slow walk toward drought and extreme heat will no longer work. I don't believe that the young are willing to have their future sold off. We can move swiftly when we choose to. American Citizen Voter, Ultimately, it's our responsibility to staff our Congress and our Courts with competent personnel. We have failed recently. people evolved in Africa, from one common ancestor, a couple hundred thousand yrs ago Over time, some people walked out of Africa and spread across the world.
The branches of the family that spent thousands of years in colder places without a lot of sun … eventually they lost much of their melanin and turned a bunch of different shades, depending on the conditions where they were.
… the king of Portugal had hired Zurara to write a biography of the king’s uncle - Infante Henrique … better known as Prince Henry the Navigator -1st major to exclusively enslave & trade continental
Writing in 1453, Zurara chronicles & glorifies Prince Henry’s voyage, a decade before. In describing resulting slave auction back in Portugal, in 1444…Zurara lumped together different-looking captives
So Zurara portrayed slavery as an improvement over freedom in Africa, where, he wrote, “They lived like beasts.” They “had no understanding of good, but only knew how to live in bestial sloth.”
Zurara’s writings were widely circulated among the elite in Portugal…& their ideas about continental Africans…led the way as human trade expanded among west Asian countries like Spain France
& England west Asian Africans [post Zeus' mistress Europ]
slave traders [military order of Christ] commissioned the invention of this sort of codified racist idea, of Black people [from south of the Sahara, Africa] 1450s

Everyone I know realized we were past 1.5 some time ago. The weather is all new every year. It's so obvious that people don't want to talk about it. Either we are lied to constantly, or our scientists are extremely bad at predicting when tipping points will occur. It's coming faster and faster. We are dying faster as well.

We are and many want to blame the government. It's our responsibility to make a difference. We need to decrease our population and reward those who are trying to replace only themselves. Greed needs to be put in check. Consumerism needs to be reduced.

"If you look at those 1200 scenarios and you look at the ones that are still viable and get us at some point back under 1.5 degrees, you know how many of them there are? Eleven. Out of 1200 predicted scenarios, 11 are all that's left that keep us at some point below 1.5 degrees. Almost all of them blow significantly over 1.5 degrees." (at min 3:24)

At the outbreak of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the world was shut down for 30 days. The pollution dissipated and our trajectory for our survival as a planet changed. Doing this under different circumstances would be a step in the right direction.

Well I don't think we should just give up, and I commend any efforts to address climate change, but we also need to be realistic about where things are at. Maybe "too late" isn't the right way to frame it, but right now we're tracking with the worst case scenario. @@lyndamonchak4072

I support the ideas presented here but how are you going to prevent the FFI from just passing the carbon tax on to the consumer, thus driving up fuel prices for those who can ill afford it?

They'll just put those fees onto us consumers.

    • @toddedson5285
      @toddedson5285 2 месяца назад +3

Yes. The consumer will have to pay for their own pollution contribution. There are many people that already drive more efficient cars or take public transportation, have well insulated homes and recycle or reuse fanatically. It is a paradigm shift absolutely primarily because the car and fossil fuel industry has gotten us addicted using disinformation and buying politicians, SCOTUS. Gallon of gas weighs 8 lbs. puts about that amount of carbon (garbage) into the air. At $140/ton is $0.56 a gallon. Seems preferable to extinction and I don't have children.

Sen Whitehouse: You may have assembled the tools to make this work:
I admire what you are trying to do Snr Sheldon, but, like all the pundits, and even scientists, on this subject, the assumptions fail to get across the difference between heat and temperature. The point is that the temperature only rises AFTER more heat energy has been absorbed than the feedback systems can control. If the temperature is rising at all it is, most likely, already too late.
The scientists should have chosen ice melt as the key indicator. Choosing temperature, especially in enormous whole degrees C, was totally insane: people cannot help but think the numbers are too tiny to make any difference, even though they know that they would be very ill if their own body's control feedbacks failed to stop a two degree C rise!
Our chances of survival are not good, but you may be able to help, with your other project: If you use your evidence to help Colorado challenge The United States for allowing rebel insurrectionist justices to reverse the protections in the Constitution, and force states to put would-be fascist dictators on their ballots.
Not only does this disqualify the justices under 14.3: it also disqualifies them for treason and failing to be "of good behaviour". Furthermore, they have jeapordised the ability of The United States, to GUARANTEE the republican form of government required by Article 4 Clause 4, and thereby given the President cause to proclaim insurrection under the Insurrection Act (which includes obstruction of justice as one form of insurrection, and the President gets to decide: not Congress or the courts), and fulfil his sacred Oath to protect the Constitution, which Trump has promised to dissolve, when he becomes dictator and rules by Divine right.
Colorado must sue The United States, and insist that the President does his duty to protect The Constitution *with all his power*, and SHALL GUARANTEE a republican form of government to all states.
Crooked traitor 'judges', 'Trojan Horsed' into power by foreign and domestic enemies of the state acting through Leonard Leo, must not get away with forcing the nation to play Russian Roulette in a dodgy illegal fake election, which the rebels will continue fighting even harder--likely through actual armed rebellion--if they should lose the count again.
    Biden SHALL end this NOW.
Only then, when tribal rivalries that Washington warned would lead to this point, have been put aside, and ideally confined to the lobby, may Humaniity, at least, then be able to make a start on a real effort to survive the century.

The young men have a military bearing and their morale verges on exuberant. Having consulted extensively to OSD, the style is familiar.
