- September 13 | Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Chair of the Senate Judiciary Courts Subcommittee, delivers the eighteenth in a series of speeches titled “The Scheme,” exposing the machinations by right-wing donor interests to capture the U.S. Supreme Court and achieve through the Court what they cannot through the elected branches of government.
Whitehouse sheds light on the $1.6 billion donation from reclusive far-right billionaire Barre Seid to Leonard Leo’s dark-money network. Leo’s operation is at the center of the dark-money takeover of the Supreme Court. Whitehouse exposes Seid and Leo as key cogs in the right-wing dark-money ecosystem that now has at least $1.6 billion at hand to corrupt democracy.

No kidding. Imagine how much progress could've been achieved with all the money the fossil fuel industry has invested over decades buying our politicians, funding sham research, spreading propaganda, and suing to prevent progress.
Hell, had the industry invested even half of that into researching and developing clean energy solutions, they could now be the global leaders of the renewable energy future! Instead of desperately trying to save their dying dirty energy industry, they could've been leading the clean energy industry and reaping the rewards for another century to come.

'Crowdfund' contributions for buying our representatives to do what we elected them to do. We have to buy back our government, and we have to buy what it takes to correct and ensure the safety of our Democracy.
