Hey guess what, this woman is my aunt! Cool to see her speaking French on RUclips! I lost a lot of my French recently and I'm trying to get it back lol
it keeps morphing into a weird russian/italian accent when i do it for more than two sentences xD weird to me how some accents come so naturally and others seem impossible
I have to learn how to stutter with a French accent. I.... perhaps I should not have auditioned. Too late to turn back now, I suppose! Pray for me, fellow desperate theatre casts!
I lived in South Africa for forty-three years, and I could not find a decent voice-over coach...BUT NOW...I live in Scotland and her video came-up on my feed
Well u sound authentic compared to an American who sounds like most English speakers who do a French accent and end up sounding like they come from allo allo t.v series. U nailed it
Thank you! This will really help in prep for The Dinner Party at Altrincham Little Theatre. Much appreciated! Especially as I might have gone in R's blazing when only a light accent is needed! :-D x
this helps! it also helps that i know a little bit of french so its a little easier for me, otherwise i probably wouldnt be auditioning for the role that i am since she gave us like a week to prepare lol (this is for a class show in school)
Oh haha, I'm watching them to prepare for my Lumiere audition because the next musical we will be doing is beauty and the beast. I really want to get either Lumiere or Le Fou
I am an American, and speak a little French, but all I really want to accomplish is to be understood, while keeping steadfast to my American identity. quand je parle francais, je parle avec un accent americain. Pourquoi, parce que je le veux. Je suis americain and so.. je suis qui je suis. If I pronounce the French R like an American R... the French will still understand me. If my thank you comes out like "Mercy Beaucoup," it ain't like they will think what the heck is this guy trying to say.... I get sorta bent outa shape when they say "Ya gotta lose the American accent... oh no I don't.
Need to play a french DnD character in two hours lol. Thanks for this!
This is why I’m doing this too T-T I am in pain
Glad it's helpful!

haha amazing! I got a call back for Babette and I was only auditioning for the ensemble so hopefully I can fake it until I make it!
Good luck!
this was by far the best coaching video on a french accent with the coach going into all the necessary details
Thank you so much!

I’ve been upset there aren’t a ton of SA RUclipsrs and I’ve suddenly found you!!! On a random search for the French accent. This is so wonderful !!
I do accents and voices as a hobby and I found this video very helpful! Although I do need a lot of practice, I keep slipping into Russian 😬😅
Literally same
Thanks! The whole sound placement thing totally clicked.
Brilliantly explained, succinct with the perfect amount of nuance. This is gonna help me a lot.
Ok good, but wish you had recored this louder. We can always turn volume down but can't turn up past max. tks

Please note that she refers to the standard/European French accent. Natice Canadian French or African French is a whole different ball game.
Correct ... good to note
H😮m😊mm

Not only that,,, but you’re stunning!
One of the best videos on how to do a French accent! Thank you :))
Much appreciated, Olga
Thanks for the tutorial. I needed this to troll my French friends
I'm binge watching french accent tutorials because i got lumiere in beauty and the beast 😂😂
Oh haha, I'm watching them to prepare for my Lumiere audition because the next musical we will be doing is beauty and the beast. I really want to get either Lumiere or Le Fou
I am French and I approve this.
I play Lumiere in beauty and the beast
My "activate" sentence is simply "Why hello there, my friend" but I always feel like I emphasize the "why" too much
I wonder if there are dialect coaches who can teach a Quebec accent.
English-speaking Francophones in Quebec tend to pronounce “the” as “de”, not “ze”.

Though if you say "merci beau cul", it's more disturbing.
Anyway, I like the american accent.
It's so quiet, I can barely hear it.
Imitating the French accent is easy. Just place marbles in your mouth and say this: "Foo Foo Fah, Depeche mode FOOO FOO!"
U sound nice
Why do you want to have a french accent?? I m french and I try to have the best english accent when I'm talking in english! That's weird no?
J’ai pensé cette fille is not quite on the mark
