the reason many "British" accents sound so wrong when people from outside the uk do them is because they mash together a jumbled mess of accents from across the country, so I'm really glad Kris made that distinction between regions. Long John Silver lived in Bristol, England, supposedly the birthplace of Edward Teach, Blackbeard. In the early 1950s Disney produced films of “Treasure Island” (1950) and “Blackbeard the Pirate”(1952), and the same actor was used to play Silver and Teach - Robert Newton. Newton then reprised his role of Long John Silver for “Long John Silver” (1954) and the TV series “The adventures of Long John Silver (1955). Robert Newton was born and raised in Dorset, not far from Bristol, so he knew the West Country accent which Silver and Teach would have spoken in very well, and used it in those films.

Back in april I guess one of the places here in Philippines went through 51°C, and we're casually living on a 40°C or something entire summer now its a bit colder.
Great job Kris! In a previous life I worked with the Canadian Forces where I first learned about the Newfies. They are a trip and freaking awesome! One of the things I learned was that rather than saying the typical "eh," the say "wha." As in if something tastes good, "That's some good, wha." As a native Texan, we have much in common with the Newfies in terms of our fierce independence.

@KleemeyPumpkin Fahrenheit was developed using salt water, so 0F is when salt water freezes and 100F is when it boils. The intervals between the degrees are smaller, so we can represent temperatures more precisely, so like 47F vs. 8.33333C.

Hey, as a Texan, I'm RELIEVED someone finally nailed our accent...even though ours differs from numerous regions much like your own Canadian variations!
There were bits that she got right for the part of Texas I'm from (which is still pretty good, but I wouldn't say she nailed it). I can't even do it myself; I've spent most of my life trying not to sound like a stereotypical southerner, so I'm definitely not knocking her. That's just not what people sound like, not 'round these parts anyway. Texas has so much land area that there are probably like 7 distinct Texan accents though, so maybe she was honed in to one of them, just not the ones I've lived around.
also from texas but closer the Louisiana border and I have one of the strongest accents in my family. I was raised between that border so my accent is a mix of both. I would love to hear her try a accent from Louisiana. the accents she did I have heard but everyone sounds a bit different depending on where in the state they were born and how everyone around them talked too. She did not a bad job at 2 Southern accents, would like to hear more though.
As an Irish person I’m fairly impressed by the accent! Obviously it’s not perfect, but not bad as most people attempt the ‘leprechaun accent’ which really isn’t a thing. (Also, fun fact, lucky charms aren’t even sold here! Kinda ironic.)

Robert Newton was born and raised in Dorset, not far from Bristol, so he knew the West Country accent which Silver and Teach would have spoken in very well, and used it in those films.

as an irish person, i was really impressed! i'd say an irish accent is one of the hardest to do because there isn't just one standard irish accent. there's at least 2 per county lmfao, so it's hard to narrow it down to just one dialect to learn from. you did really well though, it was one of the best i've seen! most people completely butcher it and start saying 'top o the mornin to ya' and shite like that ahaha
there were only a couple words that sounded a bit funky. the first time you said 'favorite' was absolutely perfect, but then you went into a slightly english twang the second time you did it, as well as on words like 'to' and 'so'. but you mastered what i call the 't whistle' (when a t sound at the end of a word gets drawn out so it's not abrupt and sounds more like a whistle or a sh sound). keep working on it, it sounds great!
all the Irish that I learned was from Jacksepticeye, so I'm not very knowledgeable of that accent.
