I really love a straight-6 engine. I don't care if it's a Ford, a Chevy or the Chrysler slant 6. If it's from the sixties and has an inline 6 I'll probably like it.
can you explain how you set up the temp ignition switch? Does the wiring have the resistor in it? I have the engine out of the car mounted on a special stand.
A stock 1965 289 has about 100 hp more than the 6. Also a v8 swap would increase the value of the car for those who are not searching for a numbers matching car.
I'm sure it could be possible but would cost a ton. A stock rebuild on this engine with parts , machine shop bill and labor exceeds 2,500$ . Also I'm an unaware of what these blocks can handle

Can you get about the same or better horsepower and torque numbers of the 1965 V8 version?

What about making them 150 to 180 hp!
