Doing this on a 63 ford with a gen light. Do I still need to wire in the resistor if I plan on running a volt meter?

I'm having the same issue on my truck, same engine, same year. I got it inspected by the dealership and multiples shops, no one found any issue in my truck. No lights, no codes, a lot of black smoke, miss firing, lack of power. Everything that you had on your truck I'm facing it on mine now.

I had to get a 69 vw bug back in solid shape ( metal fab.)and yeah the guy threw in a 390 and mercomatic trans, Lincoln 9 inch rear axle… it’s going on a little over a year now …. still working on it. Anyway MY POINT IS 2 GET OFF UR ASS N GO OUTSIDE N GET IT DONE,(just a little bit at a time it will get done)

Ha, ha! those gaskets do suck! I mean they work fine if you retighten them evenly and pray to the automotive gods that they don't blow out. Got a blowout on my donut on the passenger side, all donuts suck.

Great video! just did this on my build. it's a Mustang timing cover that you installed. I re-used the F150 alternator. I re-used the F150 harmonic balancer too. I had to do minor clearancing on the alternator, to make it fit, sounds like you have had to do the same?

428 is a fe block as well! main difference is the crank and rods. Longer stroke to gain the 38cubes.

The old balancer looks like it for a 12:00 pointer that i think were mostly on California engines

Some have 2 timing marks on them.

Some are for neutrally balanced rotating assembly’s and some are externally balanced. Don’t pick the wrong one!

Probably because different strokes. Bore doesnt matter for finding tsc

Try swapping balancers between a 350 and a 400😂

I installed a 3G alternator into a 70 Ford. The dash has an alternator warning light. The only issue I notice is the light is dim with the engine off. The alternator works perfectly. It just that the warning light is dim when it's on just like in the video. I'm pretty sure the light should be as bright as the rest of the red warning lights. It's pretty hard to see if the light is on in full sun. Is there a way to make the bulb bright?

i picked up a project 66 with the 428 yesterday. I have a ton to address, due to the crazy amount of features they have, and with that comes electrical issues. I went immediately to order the chilton, only to find that one doesnt exist, so i found a original ford service manual, so i ordered that. until that gets here, im working on getting it back to complete, all the trim and bits and bobs. once i complete that step and have a complete wiring diagram, well... then the hard part starts haha
