    clamps! what a great idea josh.. the other day we were spraying the siding on this house and the wind was crazy plus the roof was a little wet.. tape was NOT working.. clamps would have solved that problem... thank you sir!

    Not sure if spraying is faster with all the prep involved. Roller on extender and brush will probably be my go to, but the way you did it was top notch.

    I've been painting for 25 years and I wouldn't mind taking a look at a house that has been sprayed. I have know idea how use would manage not to get overspray everywhere.. your work looks good by the way..

      Comes up much better than a brush & roller as they can hide so much imperfection where spraying hides nothing prep has to be 💯 I have been spraying for nearly 25 years so it takes time manage the control of over spray. Cheers 👍🙌

    Brother, i’ve worked for a commercial mob for 10 years. The more I see of resi the more I see this obsession with spraying just about anything 😂
    I like the idea. Just a couple quick ones though,
    You reckon after all the taping and everything it’s still faster? Reckon it’s worth spraying soffits on new build spec homes if you have to mask all the bricks and everything?
    And if you’re spraying everything, say weatherboards or gutters or soffits ect, what do you lads use in the event there’s some touch ups to be done? How do you match it without it flashing on something like weatherboards or gutters? Foamie? Or just light brush?
    Cheers mate, love the vids

      Hey bro, there's still not many that tape up and spray everything still a lot of the brush and roller. After spray finish for so long you can't handle the finish that a brush and roller will achieve it just don't cut it half the time. Depending on how quickly you can tape up also I spose 15 years using this machine. It's worth it tho just for the finish. As in touch up wise I do repaints so there's really no such thing I'm the only trade make it 💯 before you leave and get paid🙌 but if you needed to recoat usually tape up and spray again unless it's down low or up high then I touch up with a foaming would work! Hope this helps brother appreciate you watching on 🤙

    Hi Josh, great vid thanks, hey what was the tape you recommended ? I want to see if it is available in New Zealand.
    I have been told to steer clear of the 3m tapes these things are designed for. What is you opinion on the 3m tapes?
    thanks very much
    cheers

      Hi mate. I like to use the iquip 36 mm give the guys at goindustrial a call they can sort out getting some shipped. 3m is good for something recently painting its got really low tack that's about it. 🙏🤙

      @@paintingbyjosh Great thanks Josh, just looking now and have sent an enquiry to them. So the iquip tape fits on the 3m masker ok with no problems ? Also seen a few pics of you as well so good recommendation, thanks again cheers

      3m tapes are shit bro, I recommend tapespec (green one) from resene or dulux. Its medium to high tack on textured surfaces but I use them on aluminum and masking trim, leaves a nice clean sharp line and paint doesn't bleed through.

    Hi Josh. I've been enjoying your videos. I'm a brush & roller painter (of 32 years). Do you spray your gutters & facia's first, then mask for spraying soffits?? Also... You prefer using the plastic, rather than 300mm masking paper??

    • @paintingbyjosh
      @paintingbyjosh  Год назад

      Hi mate, thank you for watching on. Yes I do usually spray gutters/ fascia first but all depending on the job really. I do prefer the masking paper easier to work with plus better for our environment 💯👍

    Would you still spray the soffit even if you were not spraying the siding? In my case it's a brick siding and it will not be painted.

    • @paintingbyjosh
      @paintingbyjosh  Год назад

      Hi Kurt's! Yes most definitely because I would be taping up the bricks if I where to cut/roll or spray. Half the work is already done💯 hope this helps mate
