No, you can't apply a solid stain on your aluminum fascia, it will fade in 6 months because of the extreme heat. Paint it will last 5 to 8 years or more, depending on the prep work. Paint has more protection.
Welcome to my channel. Sure. I did use a 310 LP tip is a Green color is s low pressure tip. But you can paint it with a mini roller and a soft bristle brush.
I forgot that Sherwin Williams does not sell that brand of paint any more, the one that shows on the video, but you can use water base Industrial Alkid Urethane it is expensive but is worth it.
Hey thank for visiting my channel. No need to prime the white or the solid painted are, just where the paint came off. After is primed you can use exterior DURATION or exterior Emerald, cause the paint you saw on the video Sherwin Williams does not selling anymore.
@@pintandodetodo73@pintandodetodo73 I have this exact same problem with the metal trim peeling. My house is 2 story so its hard to get to those areas. Need some good guys like yourselves to fix them for me.
Good video. Thanks for sharing I have this issue right now on my house and have been getting quotes to have the facia replaced. I think I’ll try this. Is it necessary to sand off all the old paint or just sand it till all loose paint is removed?
THANKS. JUST THE REFRESHER I NEEDED.
You're welcome.
Thanks for the tips brother like you said it supposed be manesfree
You're welcome
Yes there is no maintenance fee any more.
I have an aluminum post on my back porch that is doing the same. I assume the same principles apply with it?
Yes, Sr, same principle.
@@pintandodetodo73 on the portion that has paint would you cover it with the primer too?
Yes, just make sure to scrape all the loose paint, and sand the edges then prime.
@@pintandodetodo73 thanks for your help

What about a solid stain vs a latex paint which is thicker and cracks more

@@pintandodetodo73 thanks for the heads up. It’s a solid stain arborcoat already been applied just to make the color match better than previous
What color are you using for the Fascia and does it need to Satin Sheen?
Well, most fascia colors are white, and some are off white. You just have to match it at Sherwin Williams, take a chip or a small piece of the fascia.
Did you paint using a brush or use paint sprayer? If paint sprayer, what size spray tip did you use? My gutters are about 6 inches wide?

What’s better spraying or painting aluminum
Do you prime all the white metal or just where previous paint came off?
Hey thank for visiting my channel.

Make sure you use the same brand of primer that shows in the video.
Where are you located in NC. Looking to have my facia painted. Thanks
Hi we service Winston Salem, High Point, Greensboro and Lexington
Do you know anyone near the Smithfield area
I am sorry but I do not know anyone in that area, Smithfield NC.
Is it necessary to wash first or after sanding?
You can pressure wash it or wipe it off before. Cause after you sand it the dust won't stick to the metal.
You guys do any work in South Carolina?
Hey, thanks for reaching out. We work mainly in North Carolina. Why are you asking?
@@pintandodetodo73@pintandodetodo73 I have this exact same problem with the metal trim peeling. My house is 2 story so its hard to get to those areas. Need some good guys like yourselves to fix them for me.
Do you just brush on aluminum paint or spray
Hey welcome to my channel.
You can do it either way, but sprayed will be smoothly. Or with a mini roller too.
Are you touch up painting or painting all because the color is off a little?
Hi Robert welcome to the channel
You can't touch it up because of the color difference. You are right, you have to paint the whole section end to end.
@@pintandodetodo73 Thank you. Was hoping for a miracle paint I guess
Lol no worries is just the way it goes. Take care sr.

Not necessarily, just sand the loos paint, but priming is important for the paint to adhere properly.
Cost to do this job?
I did this 2 years ago. I charged $685 for the 2 gables, sanded one side of each gable, primed a d paint
