  • In this Saltwaters Hawaii episode, My friends and I went out early to Fish for Papio. It was super slow so we decided to change rigs to Palani and Week rigs. Since I was just catching the Palani and Weke for fun, I decided to challenge myself to catch one on the PEN rod ($15 toy rod) Lost many but caught one! My next challenge is to catch an Oio on it!

Love the content....always knew those as pualu because of the white stripe by the tail and palani with the yellow at the tail.

That looked like a lot of fun! Your friends enjoyed using that little rod as much as you did! And you enjoyed sharing the joy as much as experiencing it yourself. Mahalo

We have these massive schools of Weke that are like layered and layered all the way 30ft deep, and each one is like 2 to 6lbs with some 8lbers on the top.
I can never seem to catch them though
Also how are you using 2lb line without the palani cutting it with their teeth?
