@@elihuff9572 That's the little fishes that you see hopping around the reef when you walk by. They hop from tide pool to tide pool or just head out to the break
Funny thing about the big papios and few uluas I’ve picked up is what I find in the stomach. I have seriously never found them with oama, tako, shrimp or really any of the “prime” baits you would use. The two white uluas I’ve caught had belly’s full of baby black triggerfish. And I’ve found papios with lizard fish in their bellies more times than I can count. But every time I’ve tried those baits on the line, I never get any luck. Lol. Fish can be weird when it comes to their feeding habits
Cool ved bro,, thankx for the secret, ive heard it thats candy for omilu.. but never got to try it or thought about it when i go fish with my kids.. now ill keep that in mind 🤙🏽
Brooo! I just subscribed to your channel couple days back and thought to myself... I hope I will be able to fish with this guy one day. As soon as I pau school this week. And look!! You were literally 5 minutes from where I live!!!! Lmk the next time you come up the north shore please!!!!
Beautiful fish man!!! I can't wait to come to Hawaii someday and try my hand at fishing there. Fishing in the us can't be as much fun as fishing there!
Nice Omilu action Guys!!! That's a great and consistent area...Be Safe, Tight Lines! I Panko my fish too but, I pat mayonnaise on the fish, instead of an egg wash for better taste...It's up to you. :) Both ways Ono!
Nice fish! Choke action! Next time you slide, I was taught not to fling the slide down like you did cuz if it loops over and hooks the line your screwed you gotta jack up and recast🤙🏽
Mud skippers are pretty good bait for papios. Back in the days when ala wai canal was still ala wai canal i use to go catch opai and opu palu now those are good for papio and barracudas
What is the brand of your orange knife and scabbard? I always use to use those from Walmart back in the day cause it was super sharp. Been trying to find them again with no luck
Maybe try stuff a floating lure inside a taco or squid , an slow retrieve that through the white water, or run a line across a cove an tie it off an slide a floating taco connected by a wooden close pin , into the white water , so only the taco can touch the water a drift around in the current,
Nice production quality on your channel braddah. Keep posting!
Yup..do the same with my papio’s…only thing you missing is the dill pickle tarter sauce 👍🏼
