- In this Saltwaters Hawaii episode, My Dad and I went out on an overnight fishing trip! We went on a tako dive in the morning to catch some bait for the trip. Right after the dive, we went to the fishing spot and immediately threw the poles out. No luck on the first day, but little did we know the luck we were going to have on the next day. After eating a delicious breakfast I decided to baitcast my nitro pole with some tako, 20 minutes later I hear the ratchet! (didnt put a bell) I ran over and started fighting it. It barely had any head shakes so we didnt know what it was until I saw a flash in the water. I thought it was an Omilu, but my dad yelled KAGAMI!

This literally what my dad and I used to do all the time on Guam your dad asking me the same questions as your dad did most of all he was just always happy about how excited I was. My dad passed away last year my only advice is film as much as you can with pops inwish I did so I can look back on it keep grinding bro
I moved to Guam about a year ago and am struggling to find places to fish
@@tokai5390 I would suggest booking a charter with shut up and fish or Guam fishing expedition talk to them gain some knowledge

Seeing you and your Dad fishing together reminds me of times back in the day fishing with my sons. Memories that we treasures and sharing them with my grandchildren. I know how lucky we are to live and fish the Hawaiian waters and sharing the aloha with others. Mahalo and stay safe.

Me & my dad used to go fishing on the breakwater at Kawaihae on Big Island. No one else would be there and we'd spend the night. Don't have so much as a ONE picture, let alone high def video like this! Wish I took pics! This brings back good memories. Dad passed away in 2019 at 90 yrs old. I used to hate waiting for the bites but I MISS those days now!

congrats... but i want to know why is it your dream fish... i mean it fights like other gt no? also bummers on the moi.. that was a nice size one too. cant wait till the time you land a 100+ gt.
To late now but you should keep on hand the paper and paint you would need to Gyotaku (fish print) a fish. These Kagami would have been perfect for printing. Frankly I prefer the more traditional rustic Gyotaku prints rather than the professionally done ones that have so much detail added that they almost cease to look like Gyotaku prints. And when you someday pass the print on to your kids they can say “My dad made this print.” Family heirloom type stuff. Plus it’s way cheaper to do it yourself.
