"What is the fastest way to go in a straight line?"
I've played a completely separate marble-game (Venineth), and I actually was wondering about that exact question. In any other type of game I've played, there is a clearly defined fastest way to travel in a straight line. But as silly as the question may sound, it's a lot more complex than it initially appears

The devs from the 2003 version (Gold) have interacted with the community on many occasions, and of course none of the redistributions of the game are used to make a profit so it is all available to download. There is a 2018 sequel called Marble It Up, but it does cost money. Definitely worth a buy imo.
@@CobaltTetris Oh really? I saw Marble It Up has been released on Nintendo Switch and Steam but I didn't know it was also free.

I think five years ago or so HiGuy found a way to go in a straight line that is faster than diagonal movement, by alternating between W+A and W+D. So I guess it doesn't work in practice for world records since you didn't talk about it?

Do you mean "neutral" jumps and bounces? "Natural" makes absolutely no sense here, and I mean that within the entire context of the English language.
No, in this case, it has been known as a natural jump for over a decade. As for why it's called that I'm not entirely sure, but I guess it's attributed to what the marble "naturally" does when landing on a surface with no directional inputs held. I do totally understand how it could be confusing
It's a speedrunning term, don't question the communities' terminology.
@@ignas5704 It is not a "speedrunning term". Literally every other game, and community calls it "neutral".
@@just-ero Do not impose your game's terminology on another community when you don't know much about it. Different communities have different terms. It's not that hard to understand.
