Fantastic! What a great artist! I saw her at the Met so many times. Great memories of Suor Angelica, Madama Butterfly, Don Carlo, Luisa Miller, so many others.
Saw her in several roles @ the Met - ranging from Mozart to Puccini. Verdi, as well. I also have some of her recordings in my music library. I enjoyed her a great deal but I would have to say the term DIVA fit her to a T. I once had the pleasure speaking with her on the phone - a curt conversation in which she wasn't exactly the most pleasant. But, that was quite a long time ago.
It is a pity is in english because the limits of the language. If it was in italian with subtitles we will know much more. There are interviews in italian so rich.
Diese Frau, dieser Mensch, diese Künstlerin wurde zu Recht als Ereignis betrachtet. DANKE!
What a delightful lady, I couldn't stop smiling all through the video. A pleasure to listen to.❤
A truly brilliant “ Singing Actress” … saw her many times at The Met. RIP❤
God bless you divine Renata! You have made my life much happier and worth living.

RIP Maestra
She looks great! Judging from the speaking voice, I bet that she can still nail "Mi chiamano Mimì"
Maybe she could still 'nail it's, but we'll never know as she just passed away.
@@basilmanolakos4926 Thank you for this highly relevant comment! But was indeed sad to hear this
