No joke, I always thought you were NOT supposed to think of the next question while actively listening to someone speak. For me and (probably) people like me, it's hard to do both simultaneously.

That's a valid point. But it really depends on the individual. Since our brains can multi-task, and with some practice, we can use some of our thinking cycles to formulate where we want to go with our next question based on what we're hearing. Think of it this way - when you are listening to someone, don't you sometimes start forming an opinion about that person and/or what they're saying? That's a pretty common thing that we do, as humans. So, try thinking instead about what they are saying (listening versus just hearing) and processing their points, and using that to drive your next course of action, or question to ask. @@russsalesguru Thanks for your suggestions, Russ. After I watched it, I spoke to a friend of mine who currently employs active listening in the same field of work that I'm going to be entering. He, basically, told me the same things you did. I look forward to employing them myself, and my friends are going to get practiced on until I gain proficiency.
