- I got a new Arcade1up. This time the OutRun Stand-Up version. I unbox, assemble and give my thoughts of the new cabinet
The crazy lines you see when I first play outrun are not the scanlines, that's just a result of how the camera picked up the screen with the angle and outside light shining on it. It did not look like that.

Bought Sega ages for my Japanese Sega Saturn back in 1997 and loved it!!!!!!
I know its usually a minor oversight. but for whatever reason. dudes seem to never mention their height. telling us, and comparing with the machine is really helpful. so kudos for instinctively mentioning that.
You were spot on about those bloody 🔩 for the riser mate. Power drill all the way. Enjoyed the video well done.
Liked!. The stand-up is the way to go imo. Just looks better. With the size/scale of these A1Up cabs the sit down version just looks funny. Good review

I'm a bit disappointed that the gear shift lever doesn't stay in the high or low position.
I don’t think it did in the arcade. Although been so long since I’ve played a real one I could be wrong

This game is still in the Boardwalk Arcades & I play it almost every time I go... Cool to have your own cabinet though...👍🏽

The price is crazy high... I had order my outrun cabinet from walmart this april.. however for 660.00 dollars to only to get four games and hidden Easter egg is high way robbery! I hope in the future willnt charge or have a high price quote on racing games cabinets!
You can buy a original cab that will have forced feedback and only one game for around 2-3k

Nice review I agree with pretty much everything you said I don’t know if the pedals on the sit down are the same But these are the weakest part of the cabinet overall it is a really fun games and everyone of my family has had fun with it I am glad I got it

They've changed bits from the originals, the rear lights on the cars in outrun and outrun 2 have changed, they must not have the license from ferrari anymore so had to change the cars slightly, and on rad mobile, sonic has disappeared, he used to hang from the rear view mirror in the original arcade machine and it was the first place anybody saw sonic the hedgehog as it was out before the games.
...OutRun been gimped by Ferrari since Shenmue 2.... briefly got a perfect coin op port hidden in Xbox OR2, others share the 'reworked' car and roadside alterations.... JP Saturn ver still best outside arcade imo...
I wish they'd made a power drift cab. I love that game. I'd buy just for that

You need to contact arcade1up support and have them send you a new fan for your outrun cabinet. Do you hear the humming that is a bad fan. Contact arcade1up support and ask them to send you a PCB fan for your outrun cabinet. I had to do the same thing with my outrun cabinet and now it is nearly whisper-quiet. And it is super super easy to replace and change. Although there are four screws holding the fan to the PCB board. And then there's one little connector that you have to disconnect. Now they do have the bundle of wires held together with a black zip tie. So very carefully. Cut the wires of the old one so you can get it out period but make sure it's only the wires that belong to the PCB fan only. Then install the new pc beef and put the four screws back in place. Connect the little connector. And you're done

I wanted this cabinet, but by the time I was able to get one, it was no where to be found. Was able to get Ridge Racer, though. Maybe they'll re-release Outrun. Thanks for the review.

I wish my rampage had a light up and wrapped riser. Looks great. I'd probably keep mine if it did.

Nice, but if only they could round off the edges of the screens with a old style black or chrome plastic plate then scan line filter them to make them look like old screens. 🤞
So the newer ones like outrun do have scan line options. But yeah a border and recess them in a bit behind the plexi cover to give them depth like an old school crt would be cool
The reflection of your door on the screen made it hard to see. Cool video

Thanks for the review, looks great. Just annoys me that they're not allowed to use the Testarossa anymore, same issue with the 3ds & Switch versions.

I love mame.I play my .122 mame pluss a lot and it plays same as arcade pluss you get over clock the cores for each game and set the refresh rates.it awesome on crt but retro roch is killer for its 15 kill hertz up date for the arcade crt also.

Would have added more cost for sure. And I think it’s already pushing it for most including myself at 550
if they had made a version of arcade 1 up with a vibration motor in the wheel what if it breaks down or stops working? is the vibration motor easy to fix (repair)?

Is there a way to mod the pedals, or use a better stronger brand of pedals?
I haven’t looked into this so not sure myself. Had it now for a year and still working fine for me and how I use it but I’m not super aggressive when playing it
And would the stand up be ok for a 10 year old ?
I would think it should be fine as far as height if that’s what you are asking. As far as the mortal kombat games with fatalities and gore that’s up to you to decide 😁
If you wanna tone down your markie light just tint the back of it with window tint....
I'd love to get this one, but don't really have the room for it right now. I could make some room, but I'm too lazy to go through the effort. I am curious, if you have an Arcade1Up stool, have you tried playing this sitting down? I was wondering how this version would fare with that.
I do not have a stool I play mine all standing. I have the same issue with room I want to use. I actually sold one of my older arcade1up when I ordered this so I would have room and to cover some of the cost
Looks like a fantastic machine. Just out of interest, can you save the high scores on this? And how many of those other machines save their leaderboards?
Yes it saves them. Pretty much all of them do. The centipede machine does some times and other times not. But I think all the newer ones they fixed those issues

Oh well, thanks for the video, but really ... Why, oh why doesn't OutRunners get more love ? I know I'm not the only one who loves this game (Sega Lord X, do you hear me ? :) ) but really, I think this game is really overlooked by most of retro / arcade gamers, and even by most Sega fans !
How much was this game when u got it? Also how has the pedals and steering wheel held up for you ?
I paid 599. Everything has held up fine. Im not aggressive with my gameplay just average use

It’s a Numark NS6 II Controller. Comes with a Serato License
What hardware do the games run on? It would be cool if you add Super Monaco GP to the playable games.

The correct Sega OutRun steering wheel centre insert should have at least been supplied.... if not fitted imo.

You can get the games for free using roms under the mame emulator just do a Google search for them

Did you remove the ring from around the wire connected to the screen
No that is shielding for the wires to lessen interference
@@SonicGT73 ok thanks..I actually had just purchased one got it on the 9th of this month and it stopped working 5 days later ..I was wondering could that be the reason luckily I was able to return it and my new cabinet just arrived today
Does the steering wheel need calibrated before playing?
No it worked fine when I first turned it on. I did eventually run through calibration just in case it was slightly off but it felt fine before I did that so mine at least was good
@@SonicGT73 mine also had peeling and tearing on the riser! I put in a ticket for it. Agree the riser is different and the screws are actually way to long for application!
too bad no ferrari license and had change symbol on car and not a fan of the materials for the pedals and shifter different from orig outrun
I'm sure cost has a lot to do with that. This is a home consumer model. The steering wheel decal is a $3 mod so that was super easy to add to mine. Shifter feels fine enough. I do want sturdier pedal option, though.
@@johnmckay2402 the graphic in game on back of ferrari is changed to a different logo, to me its not good enough. I wish someone would build actual replica of original stand up one
a botched up version of out run because of the car change due to licence.. sorry but this is not out run and i would not pay a penny for this fake crap
@@plowking813 you can buy an original outrun, I have one. A little difficult to find buy get ready to shell out 2-3 k

The best part of Outrun and the reason to put 50 cents into this arcade cabinet was for the tactile feedback. Without that element of gameplay this was a pass for me. Given the price point and cheapness to the pedals and the steering wheel plus the touchiness of the controls its a hard pass. This is a 7/10 product and should be $399. I realize its not servicable for the company at that price so it should have been a pass for them. Pole Position II should be a better effort.

the setupcould easily doubled as a sit down cabinet if the riser could double as a seat.
They do actually sell a sit down version that isn’t quite what you mention but similar. I wanted the stand up myself though

If you rotate the blades of your mini-blinds 180 degrees you will get less glare in the camera.

such a shame arcade1up makes everything such flimsy plastic and corkboard. so much potential. their products just don't hold up to kids at home over the years. shouldn't have to buy these and treat them with "kid gloves".

@@SonicGT73 that’s what I said too about it. The games have not held u well for these years but the cabinet design is simply a master price. It’s only worth getting if you can knock off some money from the 699 price. Thats how i justify my purchases. I never pay 699. Best Buy sent me a 10% promo for being a card member and so I got tron. Now have to wait til like January to get it. I couldn’t wait for dragons lair so I bought the Iircade dragons lair for 599. I’m sure when arcade 1 up comes out with dragons lair it will be 699 too probably.
