@@brando618 that's kind of a hard one to explain as I've never shot it without hearing protection so I can't really say. Another thing that makes it difficult to determine is a lot of the noise you hear from a gunshot comes from the super sonic round breaking the sound barrier.
I think I have that exact upper as you. I've put it on a PSA lower as always, gave it an H3 buffer with heavy duty spring, and use a Lancer 458 10rd mag. Never had an issue chambering or cycling anything from 250gr to 576gr ammo. (I recommend black butterfly ammunition) Hope any of that helps.

I'm still running standard everything. I did some test firing of a new handhold I worked up yesterday and it functioned fine and out of a hexmag at that.
I havent had issues yet with my BCA uppers, few things ive heard from people is try different mags but before assembly and firing go over the moving parts and screws make sure everything is tight. Ive heard they have gotten better with qc and see you have their updated side charger so this upper is fairly recent. As far as making sure everything is tight should be common practice will everyrhing mass produced not just BCA and PSA. Mass produced products youre bound to find something missed. Even on cars see it all the time. Also BCA tends to like to over/undergas gas their uppers too. Cant beat their prices tho and i dont shoot often enough to justify spending a lot more so ive bought a couple uppers and so far so good. Like others have said maybe it’s a light buffer or bolt carrier doesn’t have enough weight/inertia to get those close to 1oz bullets to chamber fully. My fix would be heavier carrier,buffer, or stronger spring. It’s fresh out the box so it might need 50-100 rounds and some oil to start running right. Nice rifle! I’m looking at getting one of their 300BLK uppers to try out.
Well that sucks, mine works. Somehow broke the dust cover and the castle nut on my buffer tube came loose after shooting the shit out of it though. I recommend running a H3 buffer when you get the it working.
If it’s a feeding problem, check The feed ramp on the barrel. I had that issue the machining and finish of the feed ramp were garbage in my BCA upper. Did a little light file work to get rid of some burrs and polished it up. Haven’t had an issue since.

Oh yes, I have several BC uppers, but 2 of them are side charging. I really like them, though with muscle memory from using my other ARs it took a little getting used to. Lol
@@WHATSUPTANKWashington it was mainly a Ammo issue. Once I had the proper seating depth it would not chamber a round . But after a few attempts and double checking the seating depth it finally would cycle. I had a similar issue with the BCA 350 Legend. I changed my mags to Dura Mags the problem was fixed
@@WHATSUPTANKWashington My regret is I should have done more research on the 458 Socom . The cost of Ammunition and its availability is disheartening. Fortunately I live 30 minutes from Precision Reloading in Mitchell. SD. They had everything I needed to get reloading for the 458 Socom.
BCA makes a decent platform especially if you’re planning on upgrading internals and such. However I’ve ALWAYS had problems with their side chargers. Maybe it’s just me and the people using them, but with a combined 80 years of military and armor experience between us, we just decided to stay away from the side chargers. Personal preference and opinion only. I’m still going to buy their platforms, but I’ll never buy another side charging upper. Thanks for the videos and reviews brother. Take care.

I read that most of the feed issues are related to the type of magazine follower so I have that to hinge my hopes on!
Right now I have a D&H 458 mag that has the proper followers but that doesn't seem to be my issue. My rounds chamber but something is stopping the bolt from going completely into battery.
@@WHATSUPTANKWashington it’s probably the feeding ramp could need a lil more touching up because sometimes they forget to get rid of the m4 ramp to feed those big rounds properly.
The barreled upper is not a gun so that came to my door. The lower had to go through my ffl as that is the serialized portion and considered to be the firearm.

BCA has been nothing but garbage and with an over abundant amount of problems for so many years on basically all their AR firearm products and complete rifles. It's literally just a waste of money, you can deal with their customer service over and over and over and over....good luck!

Only 2 firearms I've purchased from them gave me an issue and they were very minor issues that I don't have anymore and that were resolved after 1 exchange with customer service each. Both exchanges were very pleasant.

I have four BCA uppers. You definitely need to blue locktite and torque every screw before use. Then it's all good.

Yeah don't modify it. You'll lose your warranty. You can paint it though.
I always tell people peep your pressures mane , sometimes certain brands/grain cycle with more success some rifles r built picky eaters 🤷🏾♂️

check the fire pin spring might be back word and if u using a metal 556 back you got to bind the sides back some for 458
