Weird that the first thing he thinks of when he talks about his daughter is her being obedient. Odd thing to come to mind when first thinking of someone.

That's what I thought of: it was like he was describing his favorite pet dog! "she was a good girl, she was obedient" (what else? was she housebroken? Did she do tricks? Bring him his pipe & newspaper when he came home? Jesus!!
I wish people would stop criticizing the father in that story! I'm as liberal as they come and even I didn't twist his words like some of you have. He was asked what kind of person she was and he answered. We need to keep in mind that this was a very different time. I'll admit I raised an eyebrow at the obedient bit since she was an adult but he may very well be referring to her as a child. I'd say there's something to be said about a young woman who conducts herself as a lady.

Nathan Kleczewski Also... this one (I'm pretty sure, anyway) this one was previously done in a previous U.M., but years before, when Robert Stack was hosting. In that episode, there was no trace of her at the end & no "closure", so to speak: no body, no suspects (viable, anyway) or anything. I'm just starting this comment as it's starting, so I don't know if they'll have an "update" to make this worth re-doing, e.g., if they found out what happened, found a body or something, you know? And - WTF, that creepy, jesus fanatic "fundaMENTAList" dad of hers; you hear what he said about her? "Cindy was a wonderful girl", etc., etc. "she was very obedient..." and so on. What the hell? It sounds like this weirdo's describing a fucking dog!! I guess those christian fanatics are really hung up about keeping their women "obedient" & on a "leash", if even one with a LITTLE slack!! If I was in that family I'd disappear too!!!

Yea, this entire series with Dennis Farina, rip, sorry to say, ducked. Unsolved mysteries in the original version with Robert stack had the most iconic song in the history of TV, the actors were superb, and to this day, 30 years later, I still re-watch those bc of how good they were. This version missed the mark entirely.

The fact that cindy's bank account was not touched supports that she was met with foul play.
The father is annoying me - acting as if by her wearing makeup, it caused this, and then - in his second statement - making it sound like she simply walked away from her life, disavowing the fact that she was stalked and kidnapped!

*What I don't understand about this series release...is why are they re-booting mystery's from the old show that have been solved already? Is there a shortage of unsolved mysteries in the early 2000''s? They even re-use the same reenacted scenes from the 90's....don't get it!*
I read somewhere it's because a lot of the mysteries have been solved so they rebooted the show to include updates on the stories that have been solved but included all of the episodes for time purposes.
Not sure wjat you're referring to. But this version with Dennis Farina didn't even compare to the original with Robert Stack. The original was 1000x better, with better music, acting, everything
Because it is nostalgic and draws in original viewers who like updates to the mysteries of their day.

I remember hearing about this "hum" years ago; but when I 1st heard of it, it was a phenomenon based in & around Taos, NM. I thought it was just confined to that area. This is the 1st I've heard of any widespread "hum". (I don't buy this whole "conspiracy" angle that is implied by the story, though).

I enjoy this show very much. I enjoy the murder mysteries very much. When the stories turn to the Paranormal or about UFO's i stop watching. I find these stories very boring.
The "Unexplained" story at 25.25 min. is not so mysterious, it's (Haarp Weather control), a method used to control the weather and making people believe we have global warming. Explain that one in a new episode please.
