I love the way the skirt-splitter combo flows with the car. I'm looking to change the front up now because of how the front lip isn't a smooth curve its got that slight angle in it that throws the body lines off to me now. There is a lot more to come with the custom projects. If you haven't already be sure to subscribe!
I'm about to install the exact same skirts with full one piece carbon fiber side splitters as well. It appears that I will be following your process here pretty much. My question is as follows: Was there a reason you fitted the splitter back wing so close to the ABS side skirt. (in looks like its almost touching you silver paint ( Maybe 1/4in off )? It looks good but were you forced to do this? I was thinking of a little more air gap there on mine so the wing sticks out a bit more in front of my rear tire. I do have 10.5 inch rims with 295's on mine at the rear though so the tire sits out about 1/8in outside of the wheel well. Yours looks right but your wheels look like a stock stance as far was how far they stick out. Like they ware inside the wheel well. Just wondering if I could move my splitter out a bit and it work. Thanks! Your Q looks dope!
I have kids and I did my winglet placement so my kids would not step on it while getting out of the car. You might be able to push them out more it totally depends on the with of your splitters. In regards to my wheel setup it replicates the stock sport wheels exactly, and I did that so it had flush fender alignment since I don’t prefer the poke out look.
@@Foxcraze so I ended up ordering the same front lip and side skirts from Ebay. Everything fitted fine but after a few days the back part of my skirts popped away from the double sided tape. I screwed everything accordingly and prepped the body from dirt and grease as well. A buddy of mine suggested spray adhesive or even epoxy adhesive to keep them from getting loose. What are your thoughts?
I didn’t get notified of this message so I apologize for the late response. If the side skirt lifted from the tape leaving the tape on the body then I would ask if you scuffed the plastic on the back side of the skirt where the tape was mounted to before applying? abs plastic can be very slick to touch and require ruffing up so the tape has plenty of bite to grab onto and stick.
Hey did you ever end up having issues with the abs side skirts not stay stuck to the car at the curve in front of the back wheels? So I installed mine exactly the same way you installed yours. The double-sided tape they sent me I used and immediately I realized it wasn’t gonna work so I got some 3M tape that was better and it worked for a little while but not long. And when I mean a little while I mean maybe five minutes. I couldn’t sit there and hold it on for hours with my hands. It just will not stay stuck to the side of the car and keeps popping back off. I do not know what to do.
Yeah man mine are rock solid. Is the tape lifting from the skirts or from the car? If it’s the skirts scuff the area you are applying tape to make a mechanical bond. If it’s the body of the car then try warm the area getting taped with a heat gun and the tape as well before pressing them together. Helps a lot with the bond process. I also clean everything with isopropyl alcohol before hand. If after all that is still pops off then your skirts might be warped and might need heated a lot and reformed to sit flush.
Nope I did it myself and have videos before this one that outline the process I used from purchase, prep and paint. Its all color matched paint in cans mixed at car quest. Be sure to subscribe, I will have a lot of other diy stuff coming.
Great job on this mod my man, couldn't find the $149.00 site for skirts, the one u ref, is selling for $1000.00, anyhow I found some $199.00 which is cool, car quest takes orders on exact color matched paint?
When they are listed at $1k the company is out of stock of the item and doesn’t want to close the listing and get charged to reopen it later. Just in case you didn’t know! As for the paint you might be able to order over the phone but I usually just go into the store and order they have it mixed and ready to spray in about 30 min usually!
It only fits with the extension however I plastic welded mine together and body worked it to make it look how mine does. I encourage you to look at my other videos before buying them.
Nope, I bought it but after cleaning the body with soap/water and doing an alcohol wipe the surface was good. I pre heated the panel and tape before applying and it went great and is still holding strong.
@@Foxcraze I watched the install video several times any pointers bro ? Did screw the side skirts in 1st by the wheels and the side skirts lip goes on stock side skirt lip any advice would be helpful i appreciate that you do answer my questions thanks when I ask
So when I installed these I peeled the backing off the tape at the top of the rear and a portion of the corner at the top front of the skirt then aligned the screws on both ends and hand tightened them in a few turns. Once the wells were secure I peeled the backing from the rest of the tape and pressed it down to bond the skirts and the body together.
The front splitter in this video is the eBay 3 piece. The link to it can be found in the comments of my new front lip install video. You should go check it out before committing to the purchase of a 3 piece.
Back when I did the side splitters the plan was to do a full splitter set around the whole car the same way with the current NIS front lip installed. The bumper was a luck purchase that I didn’t plan to do initially which changed my plans for the build now.
Jorge, I got the side skirt at the link below: rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F131864781897 The link to the splitters is in the description as well. If you have any other questions just ask.
Man that looks badass! I ordered those same skirts waiting for them to come in gonna try to fit them on my g37’

Dude, these are so sick. Your channel is absolutely rad
I appreciate it man, I loved the way these turned out too!
did you use the factory holes to screw in the side skirt?
I sure did, and they have held all these years perfectly.
@@Foxcraze did you use any hardware underneath?
@douglasa2642 yeah boss, I bought longer push pins and replaced the pins that held the stock skirt up so it fits through both layers of plastic.

Cool beans. Thanks
Looks great man! I have a q50 as well and what you're doing is very detailed and professional. Do you have a link to buy the window visors?
I cant recommend them unfortunately since they started cracking from the NC heat. I ended up taking them off and throwing then away.
I appreciate the positive feedback as well!!

How did u get the paint to match so well? Did u get professionally done?

What size is the side skirt for the q50.?
The link for the skirts shows they cost 1000.00. And they are out of stock. Is that accurate?
When eBay sellers run out of stock they increase the price so people won’t purchase in order to keep the listing open and avoid paying more eBay fees.
Hell yeah helpful thank you
No problem, glad it was useful. I'm gonna be dropping a premium chin lip review and install video in a day or so.

Could I just use the splitter without the side skirt?
Yeah you can, it will just need mounted deeper since the side of our cars curve inward.
@@Foxcraze th link u posted for the splitter, is it the right size that would fit the length of the car? I saw it has an extension...did u use it?
