i think its also important to note that the different manufacturers have different sizes i.e the geometry and what not. So if your looking for a new bike make sure that you can try a size bigger or smaller because it is ultimately about your comfort when riding
Top tube length is correctly measured parallel with the ground, not along the centre line of the tube, as shown in the video. That Focus bike doesn't have a level top tube, despite what is said in the video. You will get a smaller number if you measure the slope of the top tube than if you measure it level.
Similarly with stack which is the height to the headset from BB, if that matches your bar setup then you are most likely golden. The exception is those with very small or no saddle to bar drop. In which case you need to also make sure your seat can go low enough.
Stack and reach is harder to measure, but so much easier to determine if you actually fit a bike! Otherwise the fit coordinates only really match if the geometry angles are the same. Measure how much length there is in front of the bottom bracket to the head tube as this determines how long the bike will fit (saddle position is relative to the BB and thus no matter if the bike has a 72 degree or 75 degree seat angle, giving different top tube lengths the reach might be the same to the bars.)
You should do a series on the best bikes at certain prices. I'm looking for a new bike, but it's overwhelming how many there are, and it's hard to narrow it down. (It also probably doesn't help that I spend most of the time looking/dreaming at >£10000 bikes.)
So everyone in 2020 and beyond - this is exactly how you measure a frame size - From the Middle of the Bottom Bracket to the very Top of the Seat Tube - and that's it!
I just watched a video where the guy measured the seat tube differently. He measured from the center of the sprocket - as you did - to the point where the top tube and seat tube intersect. Not what you did. That's like the most popular measurement, what's up with that?
Sloping top tube Who was the first franebuider to make Sloping top tube frames? I know it had to do with either Mt. Bikes or small women’s frames. I know when I started cycling long distance In 1973 there were no such frames. Thx for any and all answers.
So ..how do I choose my ride based on these calculations? my height is 158cm? any by chance you can assist? I m looking for something that I can go long distance..endurance maybe. Kindly assist. pls & tq
this person in the video just confuses people because one particular frame size is given in bike specs. So what is this 'frame size' referred to? That is the question.
Okay, this guy needs to think about what he's saying and what he's doing. He measures the seat tube and then the top tube and calculates 50 something cms. Then he measures 5 inches and says it's 130cm. ??? Didn't something feel wrong to him when he said that??
This channel is probably the most pointless biking channel out there. No relevant information, mostly focused on entertainment, it’s just a waste of time.
So what is the fucking frame size? Obviously I want to know if my bike is 20inch or whatever. That's how they are advertised this fuycking video doesn't do that.
Did I just watch a video made to explain how to use a meter, a f measurement tape????? What the f? Nobody is interested in that. We want to know, how all those dimension are connected!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For f sake. If all those dim are important, why the f are bikes sold advertising one dimension. Which one is that??? Am I so dumb? Can someone point me to some good video explaining frame bike size. What's eddy, french and competitive fit??
I cannot understand what he's saying because he's speaking British. Those people have a lot of difficulty with the English language. (I'm an American, and we speak correctly.)
I’ll save you some time: The frame size of your bike is the seat tube length
Thanks mate
THANKS
thanks
Thanks!
why can't they just say this???
Erm, yes that's definitely what we meant! It should be 130mm.

5 inches = 130cm? Must tell the mrs that in future.

I do love a 130cm tall head tube
So when people say frame size which measurement are they talking about?
+sonomama82 They're talking about seat tube lenght
Cristian Itsirc thank you buddy
Thank you! Good damn.
5 inches, or 34.6 kilometers, or 948 leagues, or approximately 3 fathoms.
How many MICROMETERS is that??? :P

X.
surprised this video has not been re-done...incorrect measurement on head tube...not CM's but MM's and 5 inches is 127 MM's to be precise
What if seat tube and top tube measurements are different? For example if seat tube is 51 cm and top tube is 53 cm what's the frame size?
Seat tube (effective, in other words to the point on the seat tube that's parallel to the ground when in line with the center of the head tube).
@@yutehube4468 So in this example frame size is 51 cm or 53 cm?
@@Xerathful he means you might be measuring your top tube wrong.
@@gusmanagusmana6669 I still got confused about how to measure it.
@@gusmanagusmana6669 I still got confused which tube to measure it.
Looking forward to how to choose the right frame for your height
Great video, guys! Very informative and clear. Thank you.
I think you meant the headtube is 13cm not 130cm.
What are the pros/cons of a slopping tube vs a flat tube?

Were your measurements the same as the manufacturer's?
Hi,
Can I fit a 29” wheel on a 26” frame bike? I want to use my old mbk Ranger Hi teck as a donor bike for my Tack trainer… thank you
Great bike! Love it!

Hey guys so how is the Scultura 300? 2019, one.

What is the normal size of the wheel?
Would you make a video of headset bearing measurements
if the size is 55. what measure 55 is?
Can someone plz explain the difference between center to center and center to top seat tube measurement?
What is the best exercise for flabby inner thighs?

5 inches are 12.7 cm, not 130 cm as it is said in the video.
going get a track frame and it is 55 size I have no idea how that looks
Good man, thank you!
Thanx! Now I know what size my frame is! (=
Some segments in the video are stamped not adjacent to each other
@1:52 I think you meant 5" or 13cm, not 130cm!
130 cm :D
Thats a funny bike :D
realised that too.I was like errkkk...o my
1:45 ... I think you mean 130 mm not cm, yes?
i was wandering if u could help. i get lower back pain when i ride and i had my bike fit looked at but they say its fine. do you have any other ideas?
Your bike might be a little small
I mean big
How to clean your bike. (Without pro-team equipment & pressure washer)
Thank you :)
You measured the head tube as 5” or 130cm? Did you mean mm lol? 130cm is 51”. That’s a big reach!
Yes, he did mean mm 😅
Get an app. on your phone and you can do it that way ;)
imagine going in the shop to buy a new road bike, then youre bringing this thing size measurement and stability measurement
You forgot to measure the frame size on a sloping bike.
this person in the video just confuses people because one particular frame size is given in bike specs. So what is this 'frame size' referred to? That is the question.
You're taking an easy way out measuring frame size by doing it on a bike with a perfectly horizontal top tube. This doesn't exist anymore, does it?
how to glue tubulars please
Height 61-63 right ?
I think you meant to say 130 mm (not cm)
Almost definitely!
Why do people think the hideous back ground music is necessary?! The info only pleassse!!

5 inches isn't 130cm
5 inches is definitely not 130cm.....
Wrong head tube measurement 130cm is equivalent to 1.3 meter not 5inches too long 😂
22.5 inches

5in is 130cm????
5"=127 mm. Not 130 cms 😅😅
