Eric , if it doesn't bother to you , can you please make a demo lesson video for us ? Yes I can understand all the steps but this is like listening to a music . Not playing a violin ..
Thank you, for this video, this is exactly what I needed. I'm considering teaching adults who have migrated from Spanish speaking countries. The content is excellent.
But if the students come in with no English language at all, they won’t understand when we ask “what information/words are most important for you to learn. Once they get a little understanding, your tips are great.
Very helpful! I’ve been in public middle and elementary schools only so I’ve never been able to reach adults yet, so I’d love to get to work with adults in the future-their goals and visions are key! 🔑
Hi Leigh, thanks for the kinds words. I'm sure you will be successful, one can feel the caring passion. Feel free to submit questions or suggestions on the website Etateach.com or join us on the Sunday live chat.
outstanding and remarkable ,thanks for great teaching .please tell us about how to get them homework I have some difficulty in this case ,please guide me Eric ,thanks in advance😍
I really like ur way to explain .. so simple and clear.. kindly let me know a clear plan to be an English teacher for adults , such as the perfect kinds of certificates
All fair points and sound advice. For less experienced language instructors, focusing on a couple of these points at a time should help with an eventual higher level integration. That said, in my opinion nothing beats a meeting of the minds in the adult learners' classroom, which can only happen when the instructor knows, understands, and has the ability and opportunity to address their students' true motivations for attending the class. For various reasons, this can be sometimes problematic to achieve. :-)

uhmmm... nothing Eric said was actually wrong, BUT easy to see Eric has come over (with a mind set) from TEACHING kids to ”teaching” adults. Uhmmm, there are (1) university students who require ”exam english” (they waste their time going to a native speaker's “class”), and (2) real adults - housewives, office workers, retirees - who want a facilitator (like a party host!), not teacher, in a kind of big ”gossip class”. Facilitator prepares questions, interesting statistics - then sit back and shut up, until students dry up. Then, quickly jump in with the next talking point to ignite a new conversation.
Hahaha! Kev, as always you are 100% correct. I just never mention that role ~ leaving it for teachers to find out themselves. 🤣👍 Man, I really enjoy your take on things!
@@etacude uhmmm...the real adults have a higher IQ than little me, much more money than little me, more widely travelled than little me - and THEY KNOW IT!! If try to pretend to teach them, they will sit politely in silence, and the class dies a slow and icy death...

What course books (to teachers and students) are good to use while teaching adults?.

I don't feel this is geared towards those that speak zero English.
Right - I feel like another strategy is needed for adults that have 0 ability.
With current event it is frustrating nowadays whatever news we discuss it touches covid and students hate talking about anything that links to covid..
Yeah ~ students have had enough of it, and I'm sure the whole world too.
