Is it Thursday yet?
"you haven't read it yet" "I CAN'T READ" Travis is just the best
To this day one of the funniest lines ever
Somehow he plays a lot of characters that can't read
@@Unethical.Dodgson its easier to roleplay different characters if you have a traight that is the same among them all. Travis likes to play dumb characters that can't read. Makes it more fun for him
Percy: I’ll let you know to keep an eye on him just in case
Narrator: He did not, in fact, let them know to keep an eye on Grog just in case.
"Do you have a female setting?" LOL
Matt is quite talented. I am sure this setting is somewhere there...
The best moment.
it kills me everytime 🤣🤣🤣
*sigh* "My new wielder is an idiot..."
Can I call you bacon?.... 😅🤣
Why are his expressions so perfect??? You can see EVERY THOUGHT
When you only have one thought every thirty seconds or so, it's easy enough to emote them properly.
"Well, I'm excited about this partnership" Travis cracks me up!
I like to think Percy picked up the sword, heard the beginnings of a murmur from Craven Edge, and went "nope no more spooky voices in my head" and threw it at Grog
Pretty much. He said nope almost immediatly, but he didn't hand the sword for almost a week, even thinking to destroy it. S1E36, aroud 45:00
Travis has got to be the funniest out of them on camera. Shame no one on set notices as much
Really? He's hilarious in-game and from what he says on a conceptual level, but I haven't noticed him make any actions on camera the way Travis does; could be wrong. I will watch him closely from now on.
do you even pay attention to the bottom of Sams mug
I think both Travis and Sam are very funny, but even more so when they are both doing impromptu skits together.
Travis and Sam in the tavern of Vasselheim, with the 2 unconscious guards was amazing! You can see Travis saw his moment and he was like "Yep I'm running with this"
Sam + Travis are the best duo.
".........siiiiiiiiiigh."
XD
it's to be noted, how "righteous" CE seemed here, and how twisted it becomes later on.
If grog was allowed to call him Bacon.. You just know we would have had 'Bacon Edge' be a thing 😂
That's even funnier considering he said at a panel once that he wanted his XBOX live handle to be "RapedBacon", as a play on his last name. He was denied, of course. "Because nobody likes being raped."
Or Craven Bacon
it wouldve been cravin bacon
Pretty sure grog said "I ain't craven bacon no more" as they tossed the sword into another dimension
I wish I had the editing skills to take Matthew's voice out, so we just hear Grog talking to himself.
@@RNGStrategist don't forget to link yourself, man ruclips.net/video/_XfmkO3UdGg/видео.html
It's like if Stormbringer was given to an idiot.
Oh wait. That's basically what this whole arc was.
MegaZalmon YES! Someone else that makes Elric references!
Grog is secretly an aspect of the Eternal Champion
The best worst mistake
"What kind of powers...?"
"Do you enjoy drinking the strengths of your foes?"
Grog: ----???????????????? *HALP*
Holy shit. That's how you give someone a magic item.
Grog's one brain cell was working overtime trying to keep up with Craven Edge xD
God I forgot how amazing Cravenedge was. I miss their conversations.
Colin Branch also dangerously soul stealing
Yeah till it killed him
@@Mr0Anonymous0 So basically the Stormbringer?
Travis is a comedic genius. Also, thank you Taliesin for created this epic train wreck.
It's amazing how humorous this situation was considering... well you know.
Silver2233 Well, he did die, didn't he? My memory is a bit foggy, but i think they were quick with reviving him
@@krulen12 Yeah, I just watched the episode recently and he definitely died. But they were quick to use (I think) revivify on him.
@@benduker Yeah, then it seems like we might be right since we are both remembering the same thing :)
I still don't understand how Percy didn't ever get in trouble for giving him the talking sword.
They were distracted by a bunch of giant dragons shortly after, and Grog did a better job or keeping his sentient weapon low-key then Percy did, the party blamed some of his early weirdness on the Skull they found instead of the sword, and then the first person he told about the voice was Scanlan, who largely didn't give a shit as long as grog didn't attack party members..so a bunch of factors, mostly though it was just hard to tell the difference between regular Grog, and Possibly-Posessed Grog
@@agentchaos9332 and funnily enough, Fjord would have done the same exact thing and he would have done it better than Grog had he not vomit seawater for the party to witness and clock the dark pact right away.
Percy was terrible but bright side... that was a great subplot!
Travis's facial expressions kill me every time!
XD
"Can other ppl hear you?"
**Silence**
"Shit." LOL XD
This is one of the reasons why I love Travis/Grog so much XD
I feel like when the blade asks Grog his name Travis missed out on a trip, "speak your name wielder" - Travis replies, "Philip"
"do you have a female setting?" LMAO
"Would you like to destroy some evil today?"
"I was totally kidding about the Craven Edge, Bacon..." -- I could NOT have resisted that one...
you can tell that Travis understands storytelling and character building really well from moments like these
Ah, that was a great story ark. ☺️
Colby Nelson yup, :) just finished it
Sadly I've been spoiled by the comments at the Dropbox description that [POTENTIAL SPOILER]
Grog used the ability to get his strength up to 25 and fails the saving throw.. :(
But I've seen him play as Grog in a standalone episode where Grog DMs in-game. Something with flagons and whatnot.
Any chance you could soothe this potential disastrous outlook for me without spoiling too much?
That sword has 16 inteligence and 18 harisma. No wonder it was able to ensnare poor Grog...
Oh god I'm in tears, this is amazing!
Never watched CR further than the first few episodes because it didn't look like my kind of show, but maybe I should give it another go.
Arctic you're gonna like some characters more than others but once you watch enough to get invested youll be hooked for hundreds of hours like the rest of us
Skip to episode 27 ish
Craven Edge? Nah son, Cravin' Bacon.
Jake Gordy I mean it’s clear Matt was Cravin’ Edge when he wrote this!
Just Liam's face in the beginning, right when Percy hands Geog the sword 😂
I've never seen anyone stay more in character than Travis :D such a man!
This is exactly why Grog is my favourite character
seriously they killed it, I could watch this over and over again. good shit
Grog what is best in life
CRUSH YOUR ENEMIES
SEE THEM DRIVEN BEFORE YOU
AND HEAR THE LAMENTATIONS OF THEIR WOMEN
I can’t wait for this to be animated.
Grog is the perfect character to get a malignant intelligent weapon.
I'm sorry everyone. I've seen this scene so many times, but I just now realized the look of sheer horror/shock on Liam's face at the beginning.
Is that Sunrise of Flutes playing a the beginning? Oblivion :D
yes
"Can other people hear you...?"
Silence.
"...shit."
Imagine if Percy had kept the possessed gun and Craven Edge, having two voices inside his head driving him to insanity. That would’ve been fun.
This is how trades are meant to happen * cough Tiberius cough*
Craven Edge is gonna be in season 2 and I'm so fkin hyped to see what they do with Grog...
As soon as he kept it in season 1 I thought " here we go" with a big grin on my face
The Vox Machina S2 has certainly done well with the Craven Edge arc.
I can't wait to see this animated
The sigh gets me every time. The fact that Grog is able to exasperate a cursed weapon is amazing.
By far one of my favorite bits from Critical Role.
I cannot WAIT to see these exchanges with Craven Edge animated
Reminds me of a more evil Grimoire Wiess.
I live for Liam's face expression at 0:27
A match made in heaven and I haven't watched the episodes after the find yet!
wtf is this??? This is where vox machina came from? A group of D&D players? Holy shit i thought it was just some show that randomly came out lol didn't know they were youtubers or w/e
Welcome to Critical Role - Health warning there are over 1000 hours of content that helped make the show you watched, its addictive and could inhibit your life for the next few months:)
Fun fact: their second d&d campaign will get another tv series :)
Yeah, it's a D&D live stream that airs on Twitch every Thursday night. Legend of Vox Machina is an adaptation of their first campaign (of which this clip is from). The recently announced show Mighty Nein will do the same but for their second campaign, set 20 years later and in a different continent but in the same world as Vox Machina. As far as the livestreams go, they're currently on their third campaign, about a year and a quarter in so far. If you like Vox Machina and want to see where it came from and slightly different events (as the animated series is streamlined with the benefit of hindsight and needing to fit everything into the shorter episodes), definitely check them out. The entire series is available on RUclips, just look up "Critical Role" and there are playlists for each campaign.
I miss the old set. The New set is too dark.
He does a very good impression of Grog.
Travis: * 🚨 weewoo weewoo 🚨 danger danger!! *
Grog: son of a b*tch I'm in
yes percy is a terrible person
not really.....
he gave grog a sentient blood drinking sword without telling him
Well to be fair, they didn't know it would be detrimental to Grog himself. Also, Grog could have refused. (Although ofc getting a sword offered to him that says it can carve up its enemies is not something Grog would refuse).
But yeah Percy isn't the best person.
Well Grog isn't that dumb, I mean the "language" given off by the sword should have raised flags to Grog to begin with, it did threaten him about cutting his hand. Hard to blame Percy entirely for this.
Also, this was Sylas Briarwood's signature weapon. Percy's definitely smart enough to realize that it's bad news.
If this was a year or two later Travis could of become a Hexblade warlock so much earlier
That's not actually how Hexblades work. You can of course reflavor it to whatever fits your game, but RAW you don't make the pact with the weapon itself, you make a pact with a being from the Shadowfell that has made various dark weapons, and sends you on a quest to recover/create them, or something along those lines.
He looks so young here like 15 years difference
It's a shame we didn't see this in LoVM. Perhaps it'll come up later.
Looks like they’re setting that up for Season 2.
2:29 Travis, your CEO is showing
Should have split the difference with that name, called it "Craven Bacon"
what about Bacon Edge?
I hope to god this is in season 2 🤣
Craven Edge is basically the marvel symbiote, but he gets so little screen time in TLOVM.
Craven “bacon” Edge.
I love him
Man I can't wait until I'm all caught up with Mighty Nein. I am missing out on some great shit in Vox Machina.
I fucking love this! fuck yeah.
Grog lowest intelligence highest wit
Grog's the best
I’d love to know the stats for Craven Edge. Is it a Sword Of Life Stealing? It almost seems like it is, except a Sword Of Live Stealing drains life force, not blood, and converts it into healing energy, not strength.
The Critical Role fandom wikia has all the information Matt released for it. Article "Craven Edge".
Lol!!!! Love you guys!!!
what episode is this?
episode 36, winter's crest in whitestone about 52 minutes in
I'm Craven some Bacon!
Which episode is this
Is there a way to watch these from episode 1?
Yes if you have 400 hours spare, try this playlist: ruclips.net/video/i-p9lWIhcLQ/видео.html
The sword better be in the show its all i ask!
Guess what?
@@belindaluna2067 i know i freaked! First thing i said was oh hey hi Craven! Watching it eat Grogs blood was pure joy.
And so Percy indirectly caused Grog's first and only death.
What does percy trade craven edge for?
That's a good question I don't know, I will try to find out
Found it - Dragon slaying longsword:) criticalrole.fandom.com/wiki/Grog_Strongjaw
2:14 - lols
What is written in those litle pappers?
Magic item stat blocks. That's how they managed and traded items before they started using D&D Beyond.
Is there green screens behind them now or did they move sets for Newer episodes?
"shit" hahaha
0:25
: D
Poor Grog got groomed by a sword.
That one dislike
Jack McNerney prolly Vax. It's always Vax.
Fuckin grog man
XD
Why is it called 'craven edge'?
Your holding a sword literally called "cowardly blade".
Or is this the older middle english 'cravant'. In which case it's literally "defeated blade".
This sword sounds like a complete wimp.
lordofduct it's an anagram for Vecna Greed
It's an edge that cuts the craven.
A blade that destroys cowards
Why is the sword named cowards edge?
Same reason there’s a Spider-Man villain named “Kraven the Hunter”. It sounds impressive until you realize what the word ‘craven’ means.
I started playing dnd after I saw how good looking the girls who played it were
Mr. David and then the realization came once you started playing right?
Mr. David Lol female who play role playing games are a myth! They are only girlfriends and wives who want to keep track of their significant other! It’s all lies, no pretty woman would ever want to play table top games like dungeons and dragons! (Slight sarcasm)
I know this comment is 3 years old, but that's fucking creepy dude. I don't care if you were joking; its not funny. If there's a "pretty girl" at the table, she's there to play some D&D and have fun, not get hit on. She has to deal with that BS in the real world enough as it is, leave her and other's alone.
