I don't know what the rarest Gibson bass is....but I would imagine the EB-6 is in the top two or three. I would love to see one as a thumpin' Thursday....but somehow I doubt it will happen anytime soon. There is one on youtube but it's the first generation, it would look exactly like what Mark is playing in this vid but with 6 strings. They also made a solid body version that looked like an SG....that's the one I want to see ( and I wish like anything Gibson or Epiphone would re-issue these to compete with the Fender/Squier bass VI's) anyways....I stilll love thumpin' Thursdays!

very cool bass , gotta do something about the bass register on that camera Jen , you could barely hear the sidewinder at all , the mini sounded good , and you could feel the room shakin from the thumpy thumperson but the low end is lost. I love the look tho and the vibe , very low rider indeed. great set Mark , you are a natural bass player , if its gotta be a bass , might as well be something cool , and this fits that bill. great show

Played an Epiphone Rivoli.
g mat Casady played a Fender Jazz Bass on the Airplane’s first album, then switched to a Guild semi. Alembic installed crazy active electronics in it with separate preamps for each string, then they built him the first Alembic bass. He’s used Epiphone Jack Casady Les Paul Signature basses for years, but I’ve never seen him with an EB.

Couldn’t hear the first tune - my phone doesn’t reproduce anything below about 200 hz. For true Thumpy Thumperson you need one of those old Ampeg porta-flex amps that ONLY reproduced 200hz and lower. One 18” speaker pointed at the floor or something- perfect for the 1960s lounge scene.
