MoM not hitting colorless to beat Maze of Ith or Karakas really makes me think Giver of Runes might have a spot as a one of for a recruiter target.
with eldrazi also possibly showing up being devoid Giver could help there as well.
If you're dedicating a recruiter to this, why not just get a phantom to take out the land itself and leave a better body behind that can attack?
@@adambillen5164 Life from the Loam is a staple in the deck. Having a permanent answer seems like a more robust solution than a one off response. Of course you'll want to evaluate which silver bullet to tutor for base on whatever game state you happen to be in.

It was cool to see you back on a deck you are very comfortable with. You have had a clunky line or two in recent videos owing I assume to you playing with a bunch of new cards and it is a lot of fun to really see a deck go in your hands. Keep up the good work.
Speaking of new cards and the new lines they enable, you had a few times this video where you missed Flickerwhisp-ing Witch-Blessed Meadow to get a Witch Enchanter ETB. R4 G2 around 45 min into the video in particular you could have freed up the aether vial to get access to Yorion and Solitude (and as a result disenchant a ton of other material) despite the lack of lands.
I forgot you can Flickerwisp MDFCs!
If you Flickerwisp a Shatterskull, the Hammer Pass, does it just stay exiled forever?

Something I realized during the painter match that didn’t come up but might be good to have in the back of your mind is that flickerwisp can turn your witch enchanter land back into a creature, should the need for a disenchant arise.
That is a use i didn't think of, i likes it

Keep in mind Phelia can flicker permanants. So things like fable and wandering emperor end up as extra value.
Oooh, what about Restoration of Eiganjo? The second chapter can even bring back Phelia, while helping ensure that you keep making land drops.
[12:51] If you hit the karakas instead of the maze you would be able to stick Phelia and start blinking the white orchid every turn, to then start killing all of the mazes. And if they copy the karakas then the land dies without giving them their basic.
Sooo your line leaves them with a Karakas to invalidate the Phelia that you describe as the reason for taking the line in the first place?
@@ThrabenUniversity If they choose to copy it, yes. Since they can copy anything, we can't ever take them off any of the tech lands, but by hitting karakas we force them to legend rule their land and be down one. And they might not copy it, for whatever reason.
Seeing Velgrim again lose spectacularly again in round two (20:53) brings me joy.

A fun line I was thinking about around 45 minutes in: if you Flickerwisped your own Witch-Blessed Meadow, it would come back as a Witch Enchanter and could destroy the opponent's Pithing Needle on ETB.

One thing I’ve found really nice is playing one surveil land to fetch off flagstones. In a yorion deck the cost is lower and the upside is real

I like that recruiter finds land now. It seems odd. I don't think, it has many cases, where you would do it. But I certainly like having the option.
Glad to see you do some D&T content. Any thoughts on what to cut for Pre-War Formalwear?
This isn't a refined and tested decklist, so I can't speak with confidence.

so if you wanted to kill the token that is a better way, just target the land that flips into a 2/2 that destroys the token / needle

I found a cool green/white 2 card combo from the new set! draw 1-4 cards a turn every turn with this creature combo. Cards for combo are, Evolution witness (New card), Luminarch Aspirant, Ornery tumblewag/ or siege veteran in play. Any fetch lands or Mishras bauble good in gy. Play luminarch then play evo witness get back fetch, bauble, creature every turn on trigger. Is it good. Not really, but it is fun. Can be game winning if not answered. Its kind of like lurris combo but you need 2 creatures in play instead of just Lurris. However its anything in gy so it gets lands and other things dont care about cmc either. Combo is Witness lets you get stuff from GY to hand every turn mostly being fetch or bauble or creature depending on what you want to get back. I played it in azban taxes hatenbears shell, it was playable and good at times. Cards needed in deck to play this combo are, 4 evolution witness, 4 luminarch aspirant, 4 ornery tumblewag/ or 4 siege veteran any fetchlands, baubles, creatures, or anything you can get back from gy. Does goes infinite with wasteland if played in a legacy deck, i should say can be a "wasteland lock" 1 per turn or more.
what are your thoughts on phelia and containment priest?
Wouldn't splash for black for bowmasters and some other quality cards make sense if we are 75 card deck anyway?
I think a black splash is a reasonable but not mandatory way to approach the deck.
Also also, if we're running the Flagstones White Orchid package, I enjoy a pair of Ghost Quarters with it. 10 Wasteland effects seem to work very very well in the meta right now.
I like casting my WW card on turn 2 more than I like having GQ in my deck.

At 45:37 there was a cool play of flickering your own Witch Meadow to take out the Pithing Needle to unlock the Vials.
I don't think it would've changed the outcome of the game, as the pile of vials you got left you without action.
I think I probably need my own land in that game.
@@ThrabenUniversity once the aether vial is free tho you had a nice onslaught of solitude, yorion reflickering stuff, and blockers for days gumming up the board with their creatures baring down.
@@ThrabenUniversity Just Recruiter for Witch Enchanter and play it as a land? That seems like the play given your stream of Solitudes - it seemed that if you get 5th mana you'll just win (since you get full value off your Solitudes and Yorion). Even Welder isn't THAT scary if you can remove it after one-two rounds; Engine will do some grinding but they won't likely get combo.
Seeing your opponent take a lot of game actions, then scoop was hilarious. I think Necrodominance is going to be better suited as a midrange fair card. We'll see though.
46:01 I think vial in solitude to hit welder and then play sanctifier to permanently block fury, then next turn yorion and block solitude was a better line?
Pithing Needle is in play on Vial. That’s why he did what he did.
But as some other people also noticed, Flickerwisp can target your own lands. So if he would’ve target his Witch enchanter (was on landslide) instead of an Urza token it would’ve entered the battlefield on the front side and he would’ve been able to blow up the pitching needle.

feel like taking out karakas in game one would have sped that up a fair bit. being able to attack with phelia and bounce the LD creature would have gotten you out from under the maze's and locked them out of slow rolling the combo.
No aven interruptor seems like a huge miss. Was that card not on the radar when you were brewing? Or was it specifically weighed out?
I am very surprised to not see any guide of souls or ocelot pride at 1. I do agree that giver seems like it might have more merit than mom here too. Also how would you feel about replacing the one of eiganjo with an emeria to hit some incidental recursion if a game goes long?
Emeria enters tapped, and is thus not playable given that its upside would almost never happen.
You took more time sideboarding for match 2 game 2 than you did playing game 1
Maybe horizon lands if we're looking for white producing utility? Eiganjo castle is a card I guess
i think we threw round 4 game 1. when flickerwisp blinked meadow and in the end step it came back as witchmeadow enchanter, we ought of targeted pithing needle. then vial becomes unlocked to use with solitude and yorion. and have a 2/2 on board that could be blinked by yorion to kill the construct later. instead we were hoping for a 5th land and we had a useless vial on 5

@mangodude6790 Video loads on YT videos first, so a lot of the time, if you get in to a video fast enough the video might not have audio until you reload.

I love the new D&T build but I absolutely hate Phelia in it XD. I've been testing it out myself, but it never really feels like it does anything that is actually impactful. I feel like its resto angel.. But not quite resto angel.
