I’d just migrated to Australia as a teen and missed my friends and country terribly, then my parents separated. Listening to Doug before school saved my life. RIp legend❤
Dear Uncle Doug..........I listened to your last show live, still remember it to this day, it made me sad as I shared every morning with you for so many years. Today, learning of your passing made me very emotional. Thankyou so much for providing so many laughs whilst presenting the soundtrack to my youth.........Vale Dougy, thanks for the memories
You bought so much joy & happiness to your listeners in my early school years.I used to often have tears, thru laughing so much thru Dougs daily radio shows. May God take care of you! Thank you for the happy memories!
No one has ever matched Uncle Doug, listening to him on the way to school with my Dad, both of us in stitches in the traffic. And Middle Class Man, still one of the best covers I've ever heard
Such great memories. I had forgotten how funny & creative Douggie was. Wish he was still on the air in the same way... though I doubt he could get away with half the stuff that he said back then today.
I sat and recorded this whole last show to tape back in the day, unfortunately they were destroyed a number of years later by an ex in a bad mood. Listened daily & loved it while he was on MMM breakfast.
Its a sad day to hear hear about the passing of Doug Mulray May he rest in peace.. He was a pioneer of the radio “rapid-fire quips, parodies and unbridled naughtiness that had morning driving commuters in stitches”
RIP the great Reverend Uncle Doug! How he and his team used to make my day with their satire and wit, taking the irreverent piss out of everyday things back in the 90's! He was the best!
Mullo's was bloody legend, a real Aussie icon and big thanks to the person who posted this last airing of the Doug Mulray show , brought back a lot of great memories of a time that was the best !
Sitting at a set of lights in Edgecliff on my way to Uni, listening to Uncle Doug telling a joke which went roughly like this: "This joke was told to me by an Italian waiter at a Chinese restaurant . . . what do Lebanese women use as contraceptive . . . then the punchline. Looking around a bit shocked you could tel which other drivers were listening to MMM . . . Apropriate? hardly. Freakin' funny - yes. Not so much for the words themselves, rather the delivery and the chutzpah. I do miss the show. him. RiP Uncle Doug.
I've always remembered the Cold Chisel song "Goodbye Astrid" at the end of the shift. I think I was listening at work on the headphones at the time. Thanks for sharing.
