It's unreal. We actually have a coop mod! It's still in alpha so bugs will be fixed in the future. I had to play on mouse and keyboard since the mod didn't allow two controllers without external means. Player 2 also couldn't guard well since it's is bugged for player 2. Sorry if this isn't as stylish as usual! I'm not used to mouse and keyboard. I also can't modify Sora's combos with this mod on so I just stuck with the base. I also had to use a premade save since my save keeps crashing on this.

NOTE: THIS MOD IS STILL IN ALPHA AND HAS BUGS. I ALSO DON'T MAKE MODS. ME AND SCORP JUST SHOWCASED THE GAMEPLAY. I'm using a keyboard and mouse since having two players with controllers work in kh3 requires external means. Perhaps an update in the future will allow me to use two controllers.
Some bugs for now include:
Player 2 guard being finicky.
Player 1 not being able to counter after guarding.
Player 1 in formchange being able to hurt player 2.
Player 1 magic being able to hurt Player 2.
Player 2 physics are heavier than Player 1.
Shotlocks don't work.
2:12 This right here. This whole freaking exchange. The way P1 smacks down Xemnas and then P2 catches it and continues the combo and then P1 picks it back up...
I swear I had days just imagining something so cool happening and I just freakin' witnessed it. Damn..

I present to you tales of vesperia (Really most of the tales series), but it's not nearly as cool as this.
@Bread Sticks I'm actually not too pro at symphonia, it was my first tales game and i got spoiled on the later ones to go back to it lol. I know you need to pay attention to your special and technical meters because whenever you learn a new arte theres two versions you could possibly learn but you can only have one, dependent on whether you're more special inclined or technically inclined. There were some artes i strongly perfered and i had to switch back and forth between the two to learn them. If i remember correctly you can forget artes, so you're not missing artes exactly. That's all i can think of, hope that helps.
Also, early on the combination attacks are pretty good, two sonic thrusts will make a follow up attack: cross thrust, to add a bit of extra damage (besides getting your team to attack for free on one target)

Seeing this makes me want Square to have another shot at a co-op mode in Kingdom Hearts.

And the fact there were 19 playable characters holy shit

And bbs, not the remaster however for some fucking reason, please tell me someone is modding that back in, that was the biggest shame of the ps3, yet alone ps4 and xbox one.

@Frikcha I mean higher quality mods then what currently exist since for every nice one like co op we have a bunch of unpolished keyblades that aren't special
We'll likely see brand new keyblade slots/actual new transformations, more things like Xion and YX basically.
Over 3x the impression rate Epic had will lead to much better visibility by higher quality modders. It's not rocket science
Since both players are dead if one person dies regardless, maybe we could mod it to resemble the health system in TWEWY where it's a verticle bar to show both players health (and aesthetically relevant :) )
actually it has a system where if a player reaches 0 health, they'll be knocked out until they're healed by the other player!

Looks like there's a few kinks to work out, particularly enemy targeting, but that's hardly an issue compared to how amazing this is. Might I recommend rebalancing the magic, attack, defense, and HP for some good ol fashioned PvP? Sora vs Roxas is an obvious matchup, as is Sora/Riku vs Aqua, Sora vs Riku, and Aqua vs Aqua. Watching two or more players taking on the 100,000 enemies would also be a sight to see.

I tried this mod on parsec once. I now know the pain of being a party member. This one looks better, player 2 can actually block.

I'm still waiting for the day someone gets crazy enough to make 2 player for kh2.
Of course the catch would have to be in order to revive, it'd have to be drive Guage for your partner, otherwise if you're partner is too good you'd sweep a good chunk of the bosses

Maybe the modders will find a way for the boss to take turns after a combo has been done.
I can just imagine Sora getting bombarded with attacks while Riku just stands there awkwardly

Something I'd like to see in the future of Kingdom Hearts is for Square to make Revenge Value a more clearly articulated mechanic. We, as players, know that bosses break out after a certain number of hits, and (I think) we can see here that the inclusion of a second player makes Xemnas break out sooner. I'd love to have Square introduce new ways to extend combos, or reset revenge values, or perhaps in a coop format, allow for diversity in comboing attacks by making it so both players have a revenge value they contribute to the boss, and when one person hits that value the boss breaks out, encouraging the kinds of combos we saw at 2:12.

we needed a better riku but regardless it was a W mod! This looked like alot of fun!
obviously this is a WIP but with mechanics to make the boss swap-aggro, and one to make the revenge values decrease faster unless you combo juggles with p2, this could be groundbreaking
Now that exactly what was missing in kingdom hearts 3 and nomura forgot to add this.
If the combo penalty was lessened, this would be extremely satisfying to play

Man it would be dope if you can have multiplayer in a KH game, imagine your buddies taking control of a world based party member, do you know how much of a cake walk Critical Mode would be if the party members are actually being controlled by an actual player?

I do hope that Aqua, Riku, Roxas, and Kairi would have more to their moveset though, since Sora can go to form changes and have a varied movement. Like, even if they would share some of Sora's moveset is fine like dodge slash or other things.

Kingdom Hearts 4 should have a Co-op mode like after you beat the game or after you complete a part you get to have a free play mode where 2 player co-op can be possible. & also you wouldn’t have to have one person a have to be Sora you know?

wonder if rikus icon also being sora is a bug or just part of the way the mod works , i remember something about player 2 needing to spawn in as sora and then change afterwards sometimes but not sure how exactly it all works or if it really keeps soras hud icon or not🤔
yeah it seems to be a bug for now. If player 1 was Riku, the hud would actually display Riku on the main hud icon and Sora would be in the party member one.
Why riku Is not the modded One?(project equinox vers.)
Project equinox replaces Sora and not Riku so I couldn't really use the mod as there would be two Rikus. I also couldn't use combo mods for Sora either so I had to stick with his base combos.
Like is any of this for real or not ...

This looks to be in its early stages but it’s still an impressive milestone. I see that Riku takes damage from Sora, which is funny. But I could only imagine what it would be like if this was fully fleshed out. I get the feeling fumbling around with enemy aggro may prove difficult, but it’s still cool nonetheless
Just imagine them being able to mod mirage arena multiplayer in 2.5 though. That would be so lovely
