At the 2023 World Aquatics Championships he obliterated Michael Phelps’ world record in the 400-meter individual medley by almost a second and a half. The American Swimming Federation knew so well and had to accept Bowman's desire to be with the French swimming team. They have no choice to tell Bowman not to practice his job.

Unfortunately, he isn't the fastest. The 100m freestyle is the ultimate benchmark, just like the 100m dash on land - it's the gold standard for measuring speed.

What does it mean that he is not the fastest? Are those who won the 50 or 100 freestyle better than him? How many gold medals have these people won in a single edition of the Olympics? He is the greatest talent in the history of swimming, it does not mean that he will be the strongest ever, but he has won 4 golds, holds the record for the 400 medley and will certainly break the records for the 200 breaststroke if not that of the 200 butterfly, entering history

He can't beat Phelps...100 metre is gone to Chinese...if u can't be a winner in 100 metre, then you are considered not the fastest...so work hard to prove yourself...who knows in 4 years of next Olympics someone will rise up...
Swimming isn’t just about speed though. Otherwise he’d also have to be champion of the 50m sprint as well. The training becomes too specific to be the greatest at sprint swimming as well as endurance events. Certainly when taken to extremes
In swimming at the next Olympics only the 100m freestyle will be swum so you will be happy
