If you guys are wondering the inspiration behind this, this was inspired by a 1976 French Film called "C'etait Un Rendez-Vous (ENGLISH TRANSLATION: It Was Only A Date)", which features the same plot of a car driving around a city breaking many laws (Such as not stopping at traffic lights, going at high speeds, and more) in the early morning (5:30 AM and then after a few minutes, meets a girl at a specified area). The car in the original 1976 film was a 1976 Mercedes-Benz 450SEL 6.9 Litre (Sedan with Fuel Injection) with the sound of a Ferrari 275 GTB with a V12. The Driver of that Mercedes-Benz was Claude Lelouch, who was arrested after the film was released but then released.

I've seen this many times since 2003, when I was 11 years old, and it still gets me every time. I actually just found the shorter version which has a couple of different cuts for more drama, and ends at the buses, and intentionally cut off as they crossed so you weren't sure what happened next - that was the first version I saw, with my older brother, in the cinemas - im pretty sure we were seeing the Matrix Reloaded.
This car has had a profound impact on my life and passion for cars, and it started from these promos (not my passion for cars, that was instilled in me even earlier than that - this evoked my passion for Z cars) - I'm very likely purchasing my first 350Z in 2 days, it's the later model with the updated VQ35HR motor instead of the DE that was in this, but it sounds just as good. Watching the 2 promos again today genuinely made me tear up, almost 20 years of looking at these cars, using them in every single racing game that had it - Gran Turismo, Forza Motorsport, NFS Underground 2, countless others; I'm finally going to have my own.
Wonder if anyone will even read this 😅

To all you who think the driver drives slow...
If I did the counting right, he did an average of 93,5 km/h (57mph)!!!
Through the streets of historic Prague!
Take even into consideration, that he had absolute responsibility for hurting any pedestrian! They've closed the streets for cars, stopped the buses and the trams, but they couldn't close the streets for pedestrians.
...it would take an army of cops to do so and a lot of money and a lot of convincing to the city council and the czech police!
I still don't get it, that they were allowed to do so. By the city... OK, they get money, some popularity that gets more tourists to Prague...
But the Police? In Czech republic the Police is run by the State and so the Police doesn't care about Prague being popular, or that Prague gets money. They care only for the law and the interrests of the State, so what the film makers had to do to convince police... That's a question.
So, if any pedestrian would run in front of the car and he would hurt him, he would take full responsibility! Thinking of this he did go very very fast! Of course, the sound of the car could have been enhanced in the studio with more reving and shifting, but they tried to be realistic.
C'etait rendez-vous was shot by driving a Mercedes-Benz with automatic gearbox and the sound was then swapped with a Ferrari engine.
The Run was an official promo movie, they couldn't do an illelgal street race!
If it is too soft for you, I recommend the Getaway in Stockholm series.
But you can only compare it with the first film, the others are more highway stuff.

This was timid, imo. I've made more enthusiastic videos with my wife, and all we recorded with was a phone. lol
But it seems like despite the resources that went into this, it all came down to the editing. The way the video cut back and forth between cameras, and multiple sequences where there was just no energy... It's as if the material is there, but if you trimmed the boring parts, you'd have a half decent video. I understand this is in a populated city center, but still...

I have a Z. It sounds like that on the outside. Not on the inside. The road rumble must've been terrible. Jesus. The lack of soundproofing is making me want to sell it. It's an everyday driver and is very annoying to deal with.
