"We don't touch ourselves enough... In yoga". Made me giggle for whatever reason😅.
Get to know day 10. Amazing practice. See y'all tomorrow. Namaste🙏
I’ve been following YWA for years, but this is the first time I’ve watched this video! How did I miss this gem? This is absolutely gorgeous and very restorative. I saw it in the April 2023 Root calendar, and decided to skip the suggested date, and do it today. I’m glad I did. It’s quite the journey you have had and are having, Adriene. 😊Namaste 🙏.
You and I both skipped to this, today 😊 Namaste!
Spot on !! I have been following YWA since 2014 ,and I did miss this one ,too.I m glad I did it today.,Absolutely amazing.Thank you Aadriene❤🤗
SAME HERE! Been following YWA for a long long time and missed this gem as well!
I haven't done this one either. It was a fun restorative practice.
10 years ago! We are so lucky. Thank you 😊
So sweet to know that even 11 years ago, Adriene was so sweet, inclusive, funny and a little naughty. Namaste everyone 💜
KNOW 🔮 | June 10, 2024 | One of my favourite poses, but today I was carrying some tension in my hips and lower back which made it a little less comfortable than usual. A sign that I needed it today! 🙏
I love these older videos... I love to see how Adriene still has the same fun, witty sense of humor.
March 2023 and just started watching Adriene’s videos from the beginning. Love her spirit and humor…never stop being you girl💕
Your personality makes this experience so much more enjoyable! Thank you for that, and for explaining the poses as simply as possible. So excited to learn more yoga!
Yeah... Adriene is the best!
I love the vintage practices, the fresh banter and seeing Adriene transition to international yoga rock star, You were a spark plug in the early days....glad to enjoy this one for the first time...I planned Vshred DOR as it was "fly home day". R2D31....tomorrow back to 33...April 4, 2023.
I found Adriene about ten or eleven years ago when I got my first laptop . So glad for her daily free sessions that help me be flexible, strong, and calm. Fun to see Adriene a decade younger: pre- Benji! How we’ve all grown together, It’s been a good journey.
I’m now 70 years young, and doing daily yoga has helped keep me heathy!
Fascinating to see Adrienne 10 years ago - so fresh faced!
Baby Adriene!!! Thank you for always being you. Nice start to my day for my hips!! 🙏🏻
Aww I love you Adriene, you make me laugh. I love doing this pose either sitting up, or laying down. It always make my hips feel better, and a little less tight. Love doing yoga with you, see you tomorrow. Namaste. 🙏🧡🦋
Get To Know, day 10🎉 what away to kick of the week. Thank you, Adriene, for this practice, it was perfect. 💖🧘🏼♀️🙏🏻
Root day 5. April 2023. Haven’t done this one before. The variation with the blocks at the end was SO good.
I loved the multi angle of this video - you don’t do that in your newer videos. It was great to see how is should look from other angles. Thank you for all the content xxx
I am doing this as part of a "Root to rise" playlist for April 2023. Thank you and I hate it that people must be so judgmental in the comments that you would think we were coming at you about your TV commmet😢. That is mind blowing because you are so awesome you've pretty much saved my back and my life with these yoga instructions. Thank you so much Adriene. GOOD BLESS YOU!
I doubt I will ever film a closeup of my feet but I appreciate younger Adriene's demonstration when doing so. Yet another video I encountered for the first time. Thank you Adriene. Root day 5. 913 days in a row.
Done again on Root day 30. 938 days in a row.
Peace Will! I really enjoyed this one, too! Nice to see you! 😊

It’s baby Adriene! 😍😍 Thank you, as always. Enjoyed this short one. 🙏🏼💛
ROOT 🌳 | April 5, 2023 | Another oldie but goodie makes the Root calendar! Supta baddha konasana is one of my favourites so this was the perfect gift on my birthday! 🙏
Happy birthday💕💕
@@Jawharah111 thank you! 😊
Happy Happy Birthday. We celebrate "you"!
Happy Born Day, Cecilia! 🎉 How did you celebrate? I enjoyed this one, too! 😊

My day 9 of Get to Know - I fancied a hip opener today and I really needed the grounding sentation you get from this. Thank you! ❤
Day 36 of the current run - there is something so charming about the really early videos, cannot recommend enough. I learned butterfly in Tae-Kwon-Do while I was a kid. My legs still open just ridiculously wide, but back when I was, yknow, 8 I was able to completely fold myself in half then. Now with the belly of wisdom, I'm more like 30% of the way down. Oddly nostalgic pose.
“Belly of wisdom” 😂😂😂 I’m stealing that ! ❤
@@rhondakearns9070 HAhaha "belly of wisdom" is great and relatable
Day 468 of the current run. I have a bit less of the belly of wisdom, so I can get like 45% of the way down.
Well the intention is to create space in the lower back not stiffness. Lie on your back and hug your knees into your chest after this pose before you stand up- see how that feels! :)
if I do that my hip flexors go into a cramp..they feel glued when i extend my legs or when i stand up. Any ideas? i know its an old video but i hope you see this. Thank you
You're so cute ❤... I remember these videos , this is when I started. This is before Benji. Love you Adrienne. Namaste baby doll. 🙏🏻😘😇🫂🥰🐶💖☀️🦋🌈🐾🐾❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
That was amazing thank you Adriene, I now have a cure for my stiff hips . Thank you so much Adriene for all your beautiful yoga videos. See you tomorrow for more wonderful yoga, Namaste! 🙏
Look at your bangs!! I love them ❤
Thank you Adriene ☀️
Day 5 Root April’23
See you tomorrow 🧘🏻♀️
Namaste 🙏🏻
This made my day! Vintage YWA.. SMILED THE WHOLE TIME.
I like your comment, "Vintage YWA." Nice to meet you!
i'm following YWA for a year now and cant get over how much she has changed. can't believe this is the same person as in the present videos, but love them both :) thank you!
I love your sense of humour.
Mr three!
Doing this today on April Root calendar -- so sweet seeing Adriene back in the day before the 'hey ho' catchphrase launched a thousand double entendres (we don't touch ourselves enough lol). Oh! And this is 'ROOT' month -- Another layer! Meta
😅
Decided to start from the beginning. I'm watching in 2019, and I find the poses great for opening and relaxing the body. I will stay tuned for more, chao!
Me too! I've actually started two yeras ago on and off and decided to go back to full beginning now in 2020 :)
2020 - And starting from the beginning too !
@@catarinabotas5293 Me too! I just started 2 days ago because I finally realized I should try yoga to help me get through this pandemic! Thank you Adriene!
Me too, but starting in 2020 :-)

Namaste to all practising and May you find root(ness) in the pose
An oldie but a goodie!! Did this one today in keeping up with my regular yoga practice. I’m a young woman and I believe yoga is very vital to building healthy habits so that in a few decades I can still be as healthy as I can be :)
thank you for adding this to this month's playlist. It was perfect for today, and my husband even joined!
You know what sweet Adrien?? I followed you in 2012 and still do now in 2021.
I love you 😘 you are sooooo sweet!
love these early videos - Adriene is hands down my favourite youtube yogi. Aspirational, relatable, humorous and humble - a rare combination!
SAME HERE!!!
Yeah Adriene's my favorite RUclips yogi , I've seen other people on RUclips do Yoga but there not as good as Adriene, she just has something special about her. Love YWA ❤ Namaste 🙏
I’ve added your foundations videos to my regular practice, one video a day. Through you I’m rediscovering a playfulness to yoga that I’ve forgotten over the last 10+ years of practice.
Loving all these OG Adriene comments! What a fun throw back for April 2023
April Day 4! I had actually just finished watching a movie for class that had me sitting for two hours so this made me feel really good 😊
Namaste🦋🦋🦋
"We don't touch ourselves enough"...
..."In Yoga"
I had to have a cheeky (if very immature) chuckle at this!!! :-)
Hahaha
I think a lot of people would profit from touching themselves more as in masturbating. It is a great stress relief, yet you tragically get less horny as you get more stressed. So at the times, in which masturbation would be most benefitial, it doesn't come to mind.
@Whited Out
Anxiety is not a matter how having too little "energy", quite the opposite actually. When you drink coffee for example, that increases anxiety. So when you are nervous about a test it helps to masturbate to calm down before going to sleep.
@@MrCmon113 masturbating can get addictive because of the dopamine rush it gives and a lot of people feel tired and bad after doing it. I definitely don't recommend it as a 'strategy' against stress/anxiety or anything.
today’s practice done on:
* 4/4/23: decided today and tomorrow in the calendar and honestly my legs and hips were calling for this tonight. motivate day 5
Get To Know, June 10, 2024. Finally all caught up on daily yoga doing four back to back practices. I did this practice last year around the time I was new, or new-ish, to the YWA community. I wasn't completely feeling the YWA vibe back then, but it didn't prevent me from committing to the monthly challenge was happening at the time. Fast forward to today and I took time to fully listen and engage my body. I have a better understanding of my body through yoga now and I feel like I moved in the flow in a more comprehensive way. Not sure that makes sense, but the gist is there. Now that the daily practice is back on schedule I feel more balanced. 😌Namaste 💙
Root day five.
Short but sweet - just what I need today.
Thank you to Adriene and everyone practicing with me!
Namaste 🤍
Adriene! You’re the best, look at how far you’ve come and how far you’ve lead me! I love your realness, playfulness and compassionate heart. Thank You for your healing gift ✨
Starting the show out with the basics and aiming to focus on foundations - but there are so many poses with an incredible amount of modifications and discoveries! A little something for everyone! I'm human and I can get over excited and enthusiastic! I have to remember to be patient and ALWAYS be welcoming. So thank you for this!
(AND my students will TOTALLY think I paid you say this ;) They are comedians as well ;-) We love to laugh! (cue Mary Poppins soundtrack now)

Root day 4! Had to switch today’s practice with this one. Thinking of thighs rotating out has helped immensely)
Thank you, Adriene and YWA community🤎🤎🤎
I'm so glad to know that you've been crackin those great innuendos since the start of your channel. Hahah! You're so awesome.
Done on June 10th 2024 💕
Thanks very much Adriene. Great stretch for my groin. Blessings 🙌 always. ❤❤❤
Root Day 5 🙏
Root-April 2023 : I have done this practice and felt pretty good after, oh boy how I was wrong. 4 hours later, I spent one hour releasing heavy emotion, crying my heart out. I feel lighter after but it's never easy to realise how much we store in our hip. Thanks Adriene for this short but really powerful practice 🙇♀️
Get to Know Day 10🌱
Love this! Thank you, Adriene❤
Baby Adriene!!! Love seeing how your videos have progressed. :)
Thank you adriene ♥️
Here for the ROOT practice April yoga calendar in 2023 🥰
WOW past Adriene had embition for her videos, multy angle shots and everything :D then i guess at some point she thought ...ummm this is just to much work....but how can i go to single angle shots with out ppl getting upset...I know i distract them with a dog! :D and it worked perfectly. Some might say we got a up-great hahahaha :D
So cool to see how far your channel has come since these early days!
The letting all my weight fall onto the floor indeed felt so good!! Thank you!!
Thankyou, Adriene xx
LOVE these older practices ---
Yes I loved this one too, and got a lot out of it. Thanks Adriene!
So fun to go back ten years in time and see how Adriene has blossomed! What a gem of a human being!
Root to rise, love seeing such a young Adrienne.
I absolutely love your videos, I'm a beginner and have just started doing yoga from my home and you always take things slowly and never rush anything so that it gives me more time to understand and adjust. I just wanted to thank you for being so awesome!
OMG this is the first time I saw this video and I’ve been doing YWA every day since 2020 😂
Enjoyed this practice with “a sweet teenage -looking Adriene “. ❤
Me too 💕
Baby A!!!
Root day 4 done!!
How lovely to come on here, to finish a long day with beautiful younger Adriene and you all...nice to see a decade ago practice, short and as wonderful and beautiful as always, this practice felt. I just love this pose....prob one of my favs! I just love how you took the time to go over each pose individually and really explained them...makes learning them so much easier. Namaste🙏🏻
Love this channel - love your humor- ❤ thank you so much for sharing 😊❤
Thank you for demonstrating this posture and variations. Would like to see how to come out of the pose.
Day 5 complete I thought this one was fine. I'm glad that it was a shorter one cus I have to comfort my dog all night cus it was storming. 04/05/2023
About the tv thing. I sometimes even do some poses or variations during gaming. Sure, I don't get the same feeling compared to a full practise when focussing on breath and body. But doing some stretches during a loading screen or a cutscene still feels good.
Gorgeous ❤
Shout out to an Austin homie! Thanks Adriene, you're great--I love that you talk through the movements a lot so that I don't have to crank my neck up to the screen all the time!
You make learning yoga so playful and easy and user-friendly! Why don't you have millions of views?!
She sure does now!
Root day 4. I've never been this far back in Adriene's back catalogue before. Interesting to see how she's changed - softer and more comfortable in herself now maybe? Or maybe it's just getting older - aren't we all!!
First time doing this pose, I found it a challenge to straighten my back while keeping the soles of my feet joined together. The lying down modification was easier. Thank you for these videos, I can't wait till I get comfortable enough to try more challenging poses. :-)
Definitely, the first part is enough to put you off trying.
It might be better for beginners if you started with the reclined part. Having been a newbie and a fortnight in practising your beginners video, the first part where you lean forward is impossible to achieve something that gets remotely close. It may have been better to start with the reclined part where everyone can feel close to achieving this.
I never thought of doing this pose on my back, but it felt so good, really gave me a good stretch. Thanks for the awesome video!
Blessed Beloved Beauties! Root Day - 5 is a yummy posture. My hips are opened, and the groin area feels nicely stretched. Stress typically resides in the hips. After practicing this posture, I am self-assured that all things will come together in God's divine timing! Best wishes, everyone! 🦋♥️🦋
I've struggled with supine Baddha Konasana since the beginning of my yoga journey. I'm double-jointed in my hips and whenever I'm in the reclined position, it feels like my knees just want to snap my legs out of my hip socket and fall to the floor. After some research there's an actual name for this - hypermobility syndrome! I have never been given the option to use two blocks with the posture and OMG it changed everything for me!!! I felt no pain or discomfort when my back was arched and my head laying on a block. Thank you Adriene!!!!!!!!
You are an amazing human being Adrienne. The world is better off with you in it ❤️🦫
Day 4💖 Showing up really is the hardest part. Just 11min and my entire day is changed.
Thank you, Adriene 🙏🏻
I have been doing yoga for years and no yoga teacher ever explained some of the poses in such great depth.
Thank you and enjoy the journey
So sweet Adriene, thank you for teaching us Bound Angle Pose 🧡🧡❤❤💛💛
Day 2 of my yoga journey with Adriene, again thank you, namaste 🙏🏻
My pleasure!
One concept I struggle with is "belly breathing". I was taught (it's a strong habit now) to breath with the chest and NOT the belly. Don't remember why, was over 50 years ago but the length of time makes it an even harder habit to ignore. So, is there that much difference between /belly and Chest breath? Just curious.
There is a huge difference between belly breathing and chest breathing. There is no "wrong" way to breathe, but belly breathing is a foundational technique in the practice of yoga. I'm curious where and why you were taught to breath with the chest.
It was when I was in the military. We were told to keep our bellies in and breath through the chest.
I‘ve been doing yoga for years but these short weeks with you have given me more peace with the asanas than any other teacher. Even better I‘m finally in peace with myself.
Thankyou so much, Adriene xxx
Thank you 🥰
Done on these dates:
- 05/04/2023 🐓
Oh my goodness! One million and a half subscribers! Congratulations Adriene--you're such an awesome person!!!
Lovely practice today and just what I had time for. Thank you for ROOT DAY 5 :)
Ditto! Nice to meet you! 😊
Haha. Dude, I totally understand you. Sooo, how about sitting in something super tall? If you don't have yoga blocks maybe a stack of books or some folded up towels or blankets. Also, instead of focusing on the legs make your first goal to keep that spine straight. Most likely it wants to round (the navel draws back and shoulders round forward) so focus on sitting up tall and then from there check in with those hips by parting the legs slowly :-)
Be gentle & breathe! Flat on back is great too!
I think youre amazing, I was in a car accident not too long ago and just doing these small easy poses is doing wonders for me!!!! Namaste
🤩
🙌🧘♀️
My doctor told me to do the pose with blocks for my breathing mind you I'm completely new to yoga she didn't mention the name of the pose I bought 1 block and was trying to figure out how the hell to do it haha thanks I have since picked up another block!
Even having been doing yoga for years, it's so refreshing and lovely and important to go back to basics sometime and retune the fundamentals :) Thanks for this series/playlist. This is a gift :) Happy New Year! Can't wait for the next 30 days! :)
