  • Homeostasis, here we come. Take 15 minutes to tend to your nervous system with this regulating rest and digest practice. In this video you will find valuable techniques to cultivate a sense of safety and grounding in times of nervous system disregulation.
Gently guide your body back to a harmonious state through awareness of the breath. Regulate the nervous system by entering the role of the observer. Release self-judgment by practicing self-compassion. The mat is your place to return home to yourself, and a great place to become more familiar with your unique window of tolerance.
Soothe symptoms of stress and nurture the parasympathetic nervous system (AKA the “rest and digest” state) with this calming yoga practice. We will do it together.
Save this session for when you are feeling off balance and need an energetic reset.
Let me know how this one goes for you in the comments!!

Made with love after delving into my own healing journey with the nervous system which my body definitely called on me to address (Via body anxiety and panic attacks a couple years ago.) It's an ongoing process and almost everyone can benefit from short and consistent practices that help us tune into our individual nervous system health and utilize the tools to guide back toward homeostasis. It can also just feel good to give these issues visibility and allow there to be more accessible shame free support. I got you. Thank you for sharing your practice with me.

Once or twice a year, I wake up in the middle of the night having a horrible panic attack which sometimes leads to me throwing up. One happened last night and I remembered all my yoga and mindfulness training; I didn't fight it, just let it happen and focused on deep belly breaths. it passed within 10 minutes and I was able to fall back asleep within a half hour 🎉 Regular practices like this video have literally changed how I respond to and handle stress. I can't thank you enough for the the benefits doing yoga with you for the past 10 years has given me. ❤❤❤

Something I really noticed about this practice that is different from the ways I usually try to calm myself is that we're not forcing anything. We're noticing and sitting with what we find. I spent the first half of the video barely taking in any air with each breath because, well, thats how I started. And even as I let it get a little deeper, it was still much shallower than what I normally find (or admittedly, force). And I think thats a really interesting and important approach to finding a sense of safety within yourself. Not running from the scary bits. Not thinking theres something you have to be reaching for in order to "feel better".
I am autisitc and because of that, my nervous system is pretty much never regulated. Not to the "normal" degree at least. I have a lot of panic attacks and a lot of anxiety. I have many meltdowns and many days where its hard for me to do much at all. I'm trying to help myself to a better place but I think its really important to take a moment to realise where I am, where we all are, now. Whats happening. What we feel. Acknowledge that maybe tomorrow will feel largely the same. But also that maybe, that can be okay. Take a little time to remember that even the scary bits of life can be somewhere you sit with yourself and say "I am here. I am in the messy bit, and I am still going to love myself".
Take care everyone, I hope you know that you are loved. ❤

Adriene, I’ve been a subscriber of yours for a couple of years now. When I first tried yoga, I took a class at a local gym and couldn’t begin to understand how people were able to move that way and ultimately gave up on yoga as a whole despite being constantly told about the numerous benefits. Growing up I was never a super athletic person and never learned how to properly take care of my body. It wasn’t until a couple years ago when I stumbled on your page where I decided to give it one more try. Your videos have truly changed my life. In between struggling with chronic pain and mental health, your content has truly been a godsend for me. I really appreciate your authenticity and non gimmicky approach to this practice. There are so many videos of yours that have helped me more than even some health professionals have been able to with my chronic pain. I can’t imagine my life without yoga now!! You truly have such an incredible gift, thank you so very much for sharing it with the world. ❤

I used to have panic attacks until I figured out that an attack is just a sensation - uncomfortable, awful, but still a sensation, so nothing to worry about. Once I realized that, I stopped suffering from panic attacks, I haven't had one in over a yr. I suggest, as soon as one feels it coming on, just remember that it is just an uncomfortable sensation, nothing more and that it will not hurt you. After not very long, you'll be done with panic attacks once and for all. Yoga helps me as well by making me feel great; I practice yoga everyday thanks to Adriene's amazing channel. Thank you❤

Dear Adriane, Thank you for being there when I need you! I am going through menopause. It is really hard. I feel anxious, nervous, sad, tired and like crying all the time. Yoga helps me a bit. Could you do a video on these menopausal problems or maybe you have that already? Thank you soooo much!❤

Having a large thunder roll shake my house was not expected when I started this practice but as the storm came in the duality of inner peace and chaotic around me felt right. It really forced me to look inward and practice noticing but not bowing to the world around me

I’ve watched your yoga videos since 2016 when I was diagnosed with postpartum OCD. Now I’m currently dealing with ptsd and unresolved trauma stuck in my body so my life has been filled with panic & anxiety.
I thank you times a million for these videos. Your videos saved my life in 2016 and they are going to help save me again. ❤

Thank you so much. My daughter introduced you to me when she first started college. You are the best person to learn yoga. I knew basics but you taught me that yoga is more than physical and your easy sharing. You saved this empty nester. I have a disease CIDP for 17 years and have been your yoga consistently for 8 years. I fall frequently, I know I bounce back quicker because of the mental and physical boost I get from your classes. I do your New Year yoga. Sometimes I even do chair yoga (pleasant surprise you have a video for that) My trusty dog Brownie came running when I called Benji’s doing yoga 😂😂 I see how white his fur looks. Brownie passed a year ago, she was 17 years old. I was lost but once again I turned to you. I hope you understand how important you are to many many people. Tonight I came to bed angry and flipping through RUclips on my phone and this came up. I did on my bed with earbuds Now I’m relaxed and feel better Thank you
