As many other people, I went back to the Yoga with Adriene archives, taking my time with old videos during the pandemic. It does my soul good and I appreciate the years of work Adriene shared with us. Going back to the classics during quarantine seems to be a common theme among people all over the world, be it RUclips videos or series or movies or books. Thank you, Adriene, for being such a support to everyone through your tireless work. Sending love to everyone.
Stuck at home during this pandemic - perfect time to check out your first foundations videos! :)
Me too!
Ditto!!
Me 3 er 4 or is it er me too as well
Been practicing for 10 years and this is the first time I’ve embraced cat cow as a journey, literally a meditative experience. Thank you
You're absolutely the best... I don't feel like I'm failing doing yoga with you. I feel like I'm treating my body instead if hurting it/forcing it to do things it doesn't do yet. thank you
#TOTALLY!!!
100% 💖

This is tougher than it looks! Wow.
Hi, Adriene.
You, again, remind me that how I "get" to the shape rather than the shape itself.
Wheee! This is great news! I want the videos to serve people at home and in their bodies but also to serve as preparation (physically and mentally - sometimes emotionally :) to go deeper into Yoga and spend some time on themselves. We are worth it! Perhaps then we can feel comfortable and empowered in any public class! Thanks for the feedback! XO A
is your yoga good for children
I am "brand new" to Yoga and I am excited about learning. I must say that your personality/sense of humor is awesome and it brings a smile to my face and to my heart. Thank you for all of the information you share with the world. Keep up the great work!!
I don't think I have ever done cat-cow so thoughtfully and diligently. Really expanding the upper back on cat felt so good. 😻
I usually rush through this pose, and it left me in more pain than I started with. I never knew that I should do it bit by bit to really feel it, thank you!
I’ve never seen cat-cow broken down like this. Very helpful. Thx!
Music to my ears. I hope you slept well! Also, I love to do this in the morning before I even get out of bed. My dog has learned to wait till I am done doing my cat cow variations before he can whine to be fed ;)
I had back problems for many years, started doing this and it works great, especially before doing any manual work
Day 1 of my yoga journey with you. My back feels so good by cat cow. Thank you so much 😊❤
We love you, Adriene. You make this so easy to understand and give out a great vibe. Thank you x
great teaching
Oh good! My pleasure! I'm excited for the next one too :)
Cat cow has never been so organically complete! Thanks!
The best video on cat-cow I’ve found! Love it! 💗🙏🏻🧘🏽♀️✨🌙
Thank YOU! It is exchanges like this that INSPIRE ME! Thank you!
YOU are the one I’ve been looking for! Thank you! Your detailed instructions on how to do this pose leave me floored! I had NO IDEA that there was so much to benefit us from cat/cow, because yes, all of my previous experiences with this pose have been blown through so quickly with not near enough information about how to even do this pose justice. I am so happy to have found you, and to be following you now! ☺️❤️
Tried various yoga videos and now that I've found you I am addicted to yoga!!! starting right at the beginning and love the references you make to what the kids call the poses because they stick in my brain I.e. Cat/cow/superwoman...keep up the good work your bonkers, smiley positivity is a fantastic start to the day and I am literally jumping out of bed each morning to learn a new move xxx ooooh and loved the hands/fingers shared it with everyone in my office....share the lurv!
Hello Adriene, thank you!! I have been doing TRUE and loving it. I came back to the basics because I couldn't figure out how to "press on the tops of the feet" instead, I seem to put pressure on my knees. This "Foundations" series is so helpful. Will be working on basics a lot more now!
I'm going through all of your videos from the very first one, two a day, morning and evening, and this was a tough one.
But I shall persevere for the sake of my physical and mental health. Thank you for being here.
Great video! I love the way you describe the movements of each body part in the poses.
dunno if anyone gives a shit but if you're stoned like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all of the new series on Instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my girlfriend recently xD
@Elliot Diego definitely, I have been watching on InstaFlixxer for years myself :D
2024 I’m starting from the beginning ❤😂
Radiating my heart forward! 🌞💗🌞 This takes me right out of the uncomfortable neck crunching that cow pose has always been for me. Thank you for all of the specifics that help enhance this foundational pose! 🙏🏻🥰
Did this today, I really felt this working my upper arms..but I felt so relaxed and overall just great after doing this one pose! Working up to the first routine, just learning the proper moves first. Namaste🙏🏻
Adriene I’m so obsessed with your channel haha I just started doing yoga and you’ve been my primary teacher! I’m so excited to practice these poses and jump back into your 30 days of yoga. I’m on day 7 and realized I need more knowledge when I got to the side plank ;) Looking forward to practicing more foundation. I just LOVE your channel. Thank you for all that you do!!
You are an excellent teacher,
and you radiate love and peace.
Thank you.
I started doing yoga about 2 years ago but stopped for a bit and decided to start over again and it was a huge eye opener to feel the muscles in my shoulders and arms working, realizing how much I missed doing yoga and how weak I have gotten while not doing it. Thank you Adriene for your amazing videos!
Thank you for this beautiful pose, will be practicing yoga with your foundational series for the days to come ☺️ Namaste 🙏🏻
Hi Adriene. I am super excited that i found your videos. I was always active, till I gave into RA. With your help, I'm finding me again & not feeling so cramped up :). Thank you so much for helping me to feel better. Not to mention, you being a great teacher for us beginners who feel awkward trying to learn the correct position without hurting ourselves!! Your awesome :)
Beautiful description and demo of the journey of the Cat Pose. Thank you very much
Fast forward now to your 2019 videos, you look so different! But have also progressed infinitely!
I love the simple but thorough instructions - learning yoga while unable to go to the gym. So far, so good. Thank you!
So good! I didn't realise how it actually worked and it took time to get the hang of but once I did it was amazing.
Great instruction, Adrienne. I am going to use this in the class I teach tonight. I love the phrase, "don't just hang out in your bones", and the fine points of drawing the breath through the spine and starting cat with the tailbone. Excellent.
Thank you Adriene ❤
I'm a yoga beginner. I have been to two classes of hath a yoga and am really enjoying it. I agree that cat-cow is often rushed through . I really need to work on starting at the tail bone and working through each vertebrae. Thank you for the great explanation its really helped.
Wonderful. I’m gonna start my journey with cat-cow since today. Thank you for this
In fact, I suffered from pain in my right shoulder and neck for a long time. I tried the yoga lessons you taught. Glad to say I feel really relaxed now. I am lucky to know you like this. thank you so much. 😀
I've just started to learn yoga with You, and I absolutely love it. I have a chronic back pain due to slight scoliosis at chest level. Yet I have to work full time as a healthcare assistant (LOTS of manual handling). Despite the fact, that I follow health&safety guidelines (when possible :)) my back is still suffering. I was always told to exercise to strengthen my back, but I actually hate all the gym exercise and fitness workouts. I really do (and it often makes it worse). Swimming is nice, but membership is very expensive and would take too much time to commute (on the opposite end of the city). But this is like heaven. Gentle exercise which released the stress from my back muscles. Like "poof" and it doesn't hurt. Why haven't I tried this earlier!
Love the old ones
I have been doing this pose for a while, and this is the first time I am doing it with Adrienne and I can already feel the burn. Wow it's a lot harder when you are doing it the right way
I started using a blanket for a second layer which is nice. I also notice that my movement between the cat and cow may be less because I have some chronic back pain, so I have to be gentle in my expectations of how much I am moving in this pose.
Checking in with my foundation, love it... Great video Adriene!
Best description I've watched. Gratitude ♡
I found your explanations on this one harder to follow, but it did feel great on the spine! This pose is hard work when done slowly and properly.
I love this video. Really helped me improve my posture. Thank you sister!
Thanx for ur video..Namaste🙏
Thank you Madam I benefited many things in yoga exercises and I started to feel comfortable
Hi Rida, it is common. Your wrists are probably not used to being used in this fashion. Everyone is different so I try not to use the word "Normal" but yes it is common :) Make sure you are pressing up and out of your foundation- and not sinking dead weight into your bones/joints - wake up the body. This becomes easier with practice- or rather with practice you will begin to find more ease. You can also experiment with turning your fingers out just slightly- or also practice this on fists. XO, A
Very nice for spine..doing it regularly
Tysm Adriene
I do this every time I complete my ritual prayers and it feels very good and energizing. Never knew it’s yoga and called cat cow but I swear it really helps
Hello Adriene,
My favourite yoga pose so thank you for making it even better with your video.
Cheers
Phil
Thanks Margo! YYTT can be challenging but its an ongoing challenge, right? Find the grace! I had to remind myself I did not need to be perfect in TT and to find the joy. Big time. Thank you and namaste to you!
I'm just discovering this as well. It's so nice to get so much info on how to place the body for the most benefit. The set series of videos also gives me a project during the pandemic that will help me keep my sanity, hopefully.
Thank you so very much for all the time and effort you put into your videos and responses. I had a terrible terrible back when I started watching your videos I remember when I first tried Sukhasana I almost broke down in tears because I could barely straighten my back it was so painful. So then I shifted to things I found easier like the forward fold (which is my fave!) and the reclined butterfly pose. Now I can do SO much more. Thank you from the depths of my heart! Much love!
I have bad posture, aches and pains, basically in bad condition, going to keep going with this as i feel it will help me.
thank you! i got your back! "the breeze of grace is always blowing, set your sail to catch that breeze!"
That was sooo good really slowing down and getting to know each nuance of this pose!! ❤❤
You a r e wonderful teacher- thank you ! Definitely subscribing:)
You explained it so well , thanks again.
This is the cutest (and the only) yoga video i've ever watched
Hi! So I'm new to yoga and so far I love it! I have always had horrible posture and basically, I just have never felt comfortable in my body. Does this make sense? Anyway, I am a mother of 5 children working full time out of the home so I have no time to go to classes at this point. So I am thrilled to have found Adriene! I have been working on some of the basic poses and hope that I'm improving. Did I mention the fact that I have zero flexibility and that i'm also over weight? Ha! Anyway, here I am!
It's been three year since you first started ;)
How's it going?

New to yoga..loving your videos. Thank you so much..
You are an awesome teacher. Thank you
You're fun! This is the least serious, easy to watch yoga video I've come across yet. Keep on being silly. Love it!
Ive never done yoga. Today was my first day and you made it so easy for me to do this move!! I love it and now I am a big fan of yoga!! I am going to incorporate some more moves into my exercise routine! Thank you!
Meeeeeeeowzaaaa! That felt amazing. Thnx Adriene! You da bomb
Loved it thanks girl! I can see how you got so big even your first videos were amazing xo
Low this girl!!! Been going thru grueling often unhappy YTT and u make me happy...thank you namaste sweet young warrior
This is a great video for reintroducing myself to yoga. Your description and pacing are excellent, thank you, I’m subscribing…..
One of my fav moves. Beats downward dog any day. Great video.
Thank you. I needed the belly button tip. I've recently has had a disconnected breath for several months. Truly difficult to connect my breath in its entirety. I just let in some really very rough inhale that just reconnected my breath through my spine. Thanks so much
My physical therapist is helping me set up a gentle yoga routine and she recommended I check out your videos on the poses she's starting me with. She really recommended this pose for my pelvic floor exercises. I've wanted to get back into yoga for so many years but I struggle a lot with chronic health conditions and it's been really intimidating. I'm so excited to try again though
Thank you for breaking this down! I really feel like I’m getting a handle on cat cow! Thank you! :)
thanks hilah!!!!
Thank you very much for this practice.
I was prescribed with abtiobiotics and after finishing the dose I was experiencing gallbladder pain and stomach and intestines distress mainly in the right side of my body. I pumped up my diet with probiotics and healthy foods and I saw an improvement, but something still felt not right.
During this practice I noticed an untangling feeling in the upper right side of my stomach: it felt like more than the gallbladder was reacting inside. At that very moment I knew I had to breathe and move carefully, rushing it felt like a dangerous thing. I did realize this but I was confident that going at the pace my body was dictating and just listening, being aware, nothing bad was going to happen. Patience was key. I did this practice once. This was last month and I have not had any more problems since. It's the final alignment I needed. 💖✨
Day 127 (part 2!) Wanted a bit more today, so I looked up an old video I haven't gone over in my current run. May do this one again tonight to see what bedtime is like post-catcow.
This is the first yoga pose I learned, my first love, my savior. It seemed like we were meant to be from the first time.
I was working as a cleaner and it was heavy for my back. I was severely depressed and had anxiety (though I didn't know it back then, it can actually show symptoms in lower back). I cried almost every night because my back hurt so much, I thought I was going to have a surgery.
I found this article about yoga for back and I bought it. This will sound stupid but the first time I did the routine, my pain went away. So I truly believe that the most important lesson you can learn from yoga is to breath and take care.
thnak you! i needed this for my p e yoga quiz
LOVE this one! Thank you! Xx
I am having horrible muscle spasms in my lower back and my freinds wife is a PT and she told me to ice it and do the cat cow .... thank you so much for posting a very informative video .
New subscriber here! I came to find tutorial for such exercises, due to modular lessons of mine, and finally I fully satisfied with the video tutorials of yours. 🤗🥰A lot's of thank you and God bless you more😇
here in 2020 feeling very lonely .. thank you for making these videos. makes me feel secured knowing the mat will always catch me
Just found this Yoga With Adriene and am super excited to finally make this a solid base in my life for myself and my family! One question about cat/cow......I have always had small and somewhat weak wrists and I'm finding that being in this pose too long strains my wrists. Should this improve the more I do it or should I make adjustments? Thanks!
Adriene, I am a first time yoga learner, starting with your foundations and beginners videos. Loving it so much. I have realized just how much "integrity" my back and shoulders need to gain (I also enjoy how with yoga, it is about being gentle to yourself as well). I look forward to learning and growing with you :)
Also... What is the opening song in your video? I love it! Had that little ditty stuck in my head all day yesterday.
Well explained w humor along side👍
Thank you i found your videos and you made me really want to start doing yoga.. you explain things step by step i love it your great.. i don't feel like i'm being thrown in to something like the beginner classes in nyc .. i felt so lost when i went to one ... because of your videos i can really get in to yoga.
m new ...into yoga ...but i m learing frime adrine
I love your videos! Could you maybe do a yoga video on an everyday yoga routine to improve or get flexible. I can't even sit cross legged without my knees and legs hurting a lot.
Jessi Kercher find some yin yoga for that. Flexibility is mostly found in our connective tissue. I wonder if she has done one for yin. I hope so! She is great.
Completed #2 21/11/20 Namaste x
So lovely! Thank you
Hi, Adriene!
I have been watching your videos for some time now... I noticed i use some of the yoga positions/poses in everyday life without even knowing it is considered yoga. For exampe sukhasana, lotus, cobra... :-)
Anyway, i love your videos and i will continue watching and learning :-)
Warm regards,
Emil Filipov
So cute!
