In the 500h hybrid the electric motors do alot of the work, rarely have to ring out the 4 banger, also the turbo four has good low and mid range torque
Americans are mostly XL size, I get it. (“I like big BUTTS, and I cannnot lie…”)! 😊 However, that Lexus clothing choice of baggy big girl jeans and a white loose fitting t-shirt was INEXCUSABLE for a professional Lexus representative. I was just SHOCKED at how truly awful she looked. No WONDER Lexus is having trouble selling high-line luxury vehicles if their REPS look like that. 😢Ouch. Yikes!
It looks very very similar to the grand highlander. I’m sure the materials are a bit better and it’s a little quieter, but it’s more of a rebadge than most other Toyota/Lexus counterparts
@@DrivenCarReviews yeah I’m sure the materials are all nicer and the sound is better, in person there’s probably a better difference than what we see online. I was watching an interview with the lead engineer, and he said it's because the V6 was so smooth and nice, it kind of best represents their flagship TX setup -- the PHEV + their classic V6.
Fantastic presentation Tom, I was unaware the TX was available with a V6. Very nice! Also does TX stand for anything like all the other Lexus models (NX=Nimble Crossover, LS=Luxury Sedan, etc...).
Tom, excellent review as usual... But elephant- in- the-room you only touched on very briefly and I was surprised didn't return to in your color-coded summation - is that is every model / trim except for the 350 is only six passengers (!), on a vehicle this large and expensive?! Middle bench should be made available on all trim and model (powertrain- drivetrain) levels. Much more flexible configuration in addition to obvious passenger count. If anything, the bench should be the default, and the captains chairs optional (perhaps no-cost).
It's a demand thing. Nearly every automaker says buyers don't want a bench in row two (yes, surprises me too) and that it's offered in base models as a concession to those that want it. In fact, the 350 offers captain's chairs as an upgrade and Lexus believes the vast majority of buyers will go for it.
@@DrivenCarReviews Tom, I get that... But it's a tired old song the manufacturers have been singing,... and seems to be somewhat of a chicken or egg thing. Consumers creating a market demand or the other way around? Half the people I know that have gotten captains chairs wish they either would have gotten the bench, after experiencing the former's limitations, or wish that it had been but was not available. I am in a car enthusiast group, people of all stripes, and this comes up all the time - that is, exasperation with the "you can't get this with that" routine. There may be a few others that come up but almost uniquely the Honda Pilot and the Nissan Pathfinder offer the bench in the top trim, you just have to be careful in checking the right box. With the Infiniti QX60 the top trim only comes with captain's chairs, at least as of 2023, but you can option the next closest trim down to within about 95% with that highest trim's features - with a bench. I think aniline leather and a black roof are a few of the only things you can't option, unfortunate but not huge losses. In short, give the consumer a choice for heaven's sake.

Well, I'm good at some things, but will admit I miss things every so often. Just trying to do the reviews that I would like to see. Traffic Jam Assist works at low speeds and tends to use the ADAS sensors to watch the car ahead in addition to lane stripes. The only LX600 I've driven is the Ultra Luxury model, kind of designed for chauffeuring. It's been a long time since I've driven it so hard to compare. I suspect you'd like the ride of the TX350 or 550h+ if you think the LX ride is too rough. The TX500h F Sport is a little more firm. I suggest a test drive to confirm what I'm saying.

I don't get it. The RX350h has eCVT, while the RX500h has a 6-speed. @@DrivenCarReviews We are a family of five and our parents often stay with us for extended periods of time. I need a car that has seats for everybody and cargo capacity large enough for carrying our stuff. I know minivans are spacious, and I have an aging Odyssey. Where I live, used Sieanna's sell near the MSRP and new ones are either impossible to find or you have to pay a dealer markup (upwards of $55k). Toyota is now offering two new vehicles that could give more options to potential Sieanna customers but the lack of bench seat (in hybrid models) makes the TX and Grand Highlander useless for minivan families. I don't want to shop around different brands because reliability is our biggest concern (our Oddyses has been giving us headaches recently). Now I am even thinking of getting a used LX 570. Yea, it is old school, technology is ancient, and it is not fuel efficient. But it is the closest thing to a nice, comfortable, somewhat spacious, and reliable vehicle for my whole family.
I’m glad you’re disappointed. Because I knew this was going to happen 😂😁. I called it on June 8th when this was unveiled that the tx was a letdown. I’m so glad it turned out that way 😁
Nobody needs a three row car--probably less than 1 percent of buyers will ever carry 8 people--and then only on occasion. The average occupancy of any vehicle at any time is less than 2.
Sorry, but a vehicle has to have some outer looks, which is not in this model. I could not wake.up.and look at this vehicle paying this price. Even take $10k off and the looks in and out would turn me off. Sorry, I am just being honest.
"Very clean and easy pass to the third row" - show, not tell! In these jeans, it should be piece of cake. What a disappointing presentation by the Lexus rep. The three-row crossover is a flawed concept anyway - just buy a proper minivan, no one drives them off road. And this is what Toyota should make - a Lexus minivan. Minivans are considered limos in Asia, you should see Chinese luxury minivans. Spacious and sensible, can get in and out in a dignified manner.

Nobody? Glad you're not in product planning. I know 4 four families that need the ability of three rows.
It's not entirely about hauling people. It's about cargo space, too.
Sorry, but a vehicle has to have some outer looks, which is not in this model. I could not wake.up.and look at this vehicle paying this price. Even take $10k off and the looks in and out would turn me off. Sorry, I am just being honest.
They could barely hide the Toyota in it. Kinda disappointing.
I4 turbo yikes
No thanks, they all burn something!
No sunroof on even a top trim L E X U S should be criminal. Absolutely criminal.
Pano roofs are available. Lexus says it wants as much light as possible in.
@@DrivenCarReviewsI have three SUVs (2 Lexus and 1 Merc) with pano roof. I only got them because they came with the package. I don’t use any of the sunroofs and I’m glad I have the option not to get them
Sunroof is pretty useless. My current vehicle has one, I opened it like five times in seven years. I also had a convertible car, but drove with the top up most of the time - noise, dirt, heat and UV did not entice to open the top. Sunroof's only purpose is to stand up, sticking your head out, and shout drunken songs.
Sunroof/Pano uses has a lot to do with weather. I use my MDX Pano ALL the time after 5pm here in SoCal.
FWD biased, transverse engine, unibody?! What's the point? Get a minivan or wagon
Ooohhh.....nooooooooo..... built in Indiana??????? Ooohhhh, that's not good!!!!!! We all know American workers have very low work ethics......as evidenced by the poor fit-and-finish of the current Toyota Highlander, Camry, etc......
Holy shit does that interior look clunky and outdated!! wtf??
No styling whatsoever!
How ugly can you make a vehicle?
This looks too much like a highlander.
Looks nothing like a Highlander
@@DrivenCarReviews Wrong.
Another ICE dinosaur!
Lexus has the cheapest-looking interior of any luxury brand. I want to like them but just looks like overprice Toyota
I tried to tell all of you all over the internet that the tx was such a disappointment. None of you listened. You all had the audacity to laugh.
Well who’s laughing now huh?😂😁
Nice to know my best friend is here! Bro fails to realize the XC90 is the joke of the segment, NOT the TX
Damn Naveen, how many Toyota/Lexus videos have you commented on in the past year? I always seem to find your comments very easily
Hahahahahaha
