So a guard can’t be cleared on the first few throws AND a guard on the center line can’t be moved off that line?? Did not know that…

I thought the rule was you couldn’t even touch a rock on the center line. Learn new things all the time

It's a new (well, two years old) rule called the "no tick rule." curling.ca has a really nice poster on their web site explaining it.

That rule applies at the 'pro' level. At local clubs, not usually in force.
