@@SomeGadgetGuy thanks, it's nice to see someone who specialises in tech is more informed than most news outlets. Thanks for the continued videos love your content.
My only problem with 1+ is that they marketed their phones as flagship killers in part because of them having a just as nice phone as the premium companies but keeping their phone prices cheaper than those companies so then when you get the big contact with T-Mobile then you turn into what you claim to be going against and that's not cool and as a 1+ user I'm definitely going over to the LG V60
I just put out my first video about the ___________________ I had to re-edit it several times . Juan I will be listening fully tonight . These types of Podcast has been the only thing keeping me from going crazy
Whats more concerning than a dodgy screen are app updates that cause critical apps to fail, directing impacting on ability of people to transfer monies with families/friends in need.
Responding purely to the title since I don't have time to watch this now. Excited about new new LG device, The 1+8 seems good but not a huge step forward (which at this point makes sense). And I still believe the PS5 controller won't be as good and comfortable as the Xbox's but Sony's new direction on the controller seems good !
I almost never use wireless charging for all the reasons you state. However, I refuse to buy a phone without it. Reason: backup charging method. I've had a phone that had a malfunctioning charger port and wireless charging was the only way I could get it charged up until I had time to send it in for a repair. Friend of mine went through the same situation a year later. If I'm spending a decent amount of money I wanna make sure I'm not getting a paperweight if the port breaks, especially with removable batteries gone
Even more happy I got a V60 UW after seeing the rolled edge waterfall display of the upcoming Velvet. I may never use the X55 in the 2 years I'll own it, but damnit I won't make unintentional touches and my tempered glass will stay in place...
I'm pretty okay with the direction LG is going, LG is my favorite brand for keeping an SD card slot & headphone DAC. I personally think they should make their V series as big and small models for people who want to keep their flagship phones, but I love the fact LG is going for a mid tier-high end phone with a distinct look. The only thing I truly hate is a curved screen, there's no point to that

You said it right, "they've been programmed" to think that a more expensive device is the better. That couldn't be farther from the truth especially in 2020. I went into a BestBuy and just looking and playng around with the Samsung A-Series phone I'll be honest I was impressed with the overall look and quality. I think wired charging is sadly going to lose to wireless charging in the same way that wired earbuds are losing to wireless ones. Even though our current technology has more quality to it and ensures a longer lifespan to all gadgets involved the simple fact that wireless is more convenient (you have your chargepad on your desk, just put the phone on there and it'll charge) is going to be the deciding factor for most average consumers (yes, I said it) On a side note, I actually think wireless charging can be healthier for your battery than wired charging. This is due to the fact that most people with wired chargers charge their phone over night, and even an outdated 5W charger is going to charge the phone in a maximum of 3h, so it sits at 100% for over half of the night. Wireless charging could change that behavior by just charging your phone whenever you are at your desk, meaning you might have enough juice to get a couple of days out of your phone instead of charging every night.
@@SomeGadgetGuy havent been there yet! Haha Im from Las Cruces but if you ever head through El paso after all this is over, Tamales Lupita in Canutillo is amazing! They always had a line heading out the door.
If 5G was really THAT bad, why would they let phone companies set them up? We're roughly 4-8 times weaker from infrared frequencies (300Ghz-430Thz) when 5G is a mere fraction of that and far from ultraviolet, x-ray and gamma frequencies. 24-72ghz is the min and max of 5G frequencies. So I don't believe it's too dangerous. I mean, we've been around radio waves since the 20s and not much has happened. Granted they were a few mhz/kHz but it went up through the years. But if it is bad, they should tone down the radiation in time so there won't be long-term effects. I'm sure they can figure something out. I dunno, man. Maybe I'm wrong, just an opinion.
@@SomeGadgetGuy ohhh lol xD anyways right now the V60 is selling for $600. These are rough times, do you think I should wait a month and see how much further the price will drop? I really only have $300.
Never put yourself out for a phone. This is a fun hobby. A communication gadget is never worth some struggle. I'm not sure the 5G phone prices will fluctuate as much if you want them to work on USA carriers. But even if you never get that perfect deal or killer sale, a phone is never worth financial woes.
The more I think about Techaltar's video, the more I believe One Plus has always been Oppo's way of breaking into the European an american market, especially the latter considering the current political situation. Notice the subtle details from the start : their software has always been catered towards those markets, their brand name "One Plus" doesn't "sound Chinese" at all. More than ever, I believe we should stop trying to explain phone prices as a sum of the value of their components and more as their accepted perceived value. This could explain all the unwarranted criticism of LG and Sony prices. Apple has always been the king of increasing value perception. Samsung has also closely followed the trend. Today with One Plus' price increases, it's obvious their value transition strategy is working. I truly believe One Plus don't burden themselves with heavy costs as much as other manufacturers. After all, they do share technology with Oppo and Vivo (I'm thinking of charging technology and in display fingerprint scanners on the top of my head but I'm sure there are many more examples). Gradually increasing value perception and brand acceptation seem to be their winning strategy.
